The Pawlenty Candidacy Ends

the wheels come off the Blandwagon

From FoxNews

Tim Pawlenty announced an end to his presidential candidacy Sunday after what he called a “disappointing” third place finish in the Ames, Iowa, straw poll.

The former Minnesota governor said he had hoped to get some lift from the preference poll that is an early indicator of a candidate’s potential strength in the primary season.

At a different time, Governor Pawlenty could have been a credible candidate for president. Unfortunately, our current crisis requires more than bland competence. We have a crisis of confidence that requires someone who can connect to the innate greatness in Americans and we need a firebrand to eradicate the damage inflicted by Obama on this country.

had the temperment and experience necessary to lead us forward and actually accomplish something good. I agree that he didn’t excite the base like a few other candidates do, but he also didn’t excite the opposition, and there’s something to be said for that.

    Oh well.

…but it rolls off the tongue. I could see it winning in 2012 quite easily.

Only Bachmann could make him an offer he could refuse :)

I’ll miss his speeches, they were always good for quick power nap.
