The State Department Continues To Protect Its Precious Hillary

One of the fact confronting each and every cabinet secretary appointed by Donald Trump is that they are moving into a bureaucracy that is no more or less than a Democrat front group masquerading as a federal agency. Case in point:

Lawyers for the State Department and former Hillary Clinton aide Cheryl Mills are opposing a conservative group’s move to unseal videos of depositions taken in a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit relating to Clinton’s use of a private email account.

Attorneys for Mills and attorneys for the diplomatic agency where she formerly worked as chief of staff under Clinton are urging U.S. District Court Judge Emmet Sullivan not to disturb a prior order barring publication of videos of the depositions taken in the case brought by watchdog group Judicial Watch. Transcripts of the depositions were made public shortly after they took place.

Judicial Watch argued in a motion filed earlier this month that the ban on distribution of the videos should be lifted since the presidential election has passed, diminishing the chances the videos will become fodder for election-related ads.

This is simply the State Department acknowledging what we’ve long said, they are in thrall to Hillary Clinton and her inner circle.

The only reason Cheryl Mills’ video deposition was not released earlier was to prevent her from having a feature role in anti-Hillary political ads. You will note that no similar deference was shown to Donald Trump. His video deposition in a lawsuit was released by a judge back in September. Then the media thought it was all fair game.

Now the election is over and there is no reason for her deposition to remain under seal and, more importantly, there is no reason whatsoever for the State Department to treat this as an emergency and weigh in now rather than waiting for the new Secretary of State. Judicial Watch has waited this long for a resolution and it is virtually certain that they would have allowed the matter to rest until after January 20 if asked.

If Rex Tillerson and whomever his deputy is wish to get control of State there are two things they must immediately do. First, they need to replace Patrick Kennedy as undersecretary for management. Kennedy is a partisan hack who has lied to the American people and to Congress and who has obstructed and abused the law in the service of protecting Hillary Clinton. If Kennedy remains he will always be the locus of pro-Democrat, pro-Clinton resistance in State. Secondly, every person who touched any of State’s actions on the various FOIA requests submitted to State needs to be marginalized in an official way. Maybe Tillerson can get Congress to buy a few dozen double wide trailers and move them onto the grounds of the sewage treatment plant at Blue Plains and detail Clinton allies to duty there. Let them play solitaire or even buy Xboxes for them. But for the sake of the nation they need to be away from our foreign policy.
