FreedomWorks endorses Connie Mack for FL-SEN, calls George LeMieux a RINO

By: SunshineStateSarah (Diary)  |  June 19th at 02:57 PM  |

…Well, it looks like FreedomWorks agrees with my assessment that George LeMieux is no conservative.

In a viciously scathing email from Executive Director Max Pappas this morning, the FreedomWorks PAC endorsed Connie Mack and discussed LeMieux’s record in meticulous detail. They noted many of the same issues I did regarding his voting record and support from liberals and moderates, noting that “the more we looked at [Mack and LeMieux's] records, the clearer the choice became.”

Marco Rubio and Florida’s Primary Date: Are We Looking at the Wrong Conspiracy?

By: SunshineStateSarah (Diary)  |  October 17th at 05:24 PM  |

Judge for yourself: what makes more sense? That some D.C. staffer has some dark and nefarious power over Florida politicians he’s never even met, and Rubio psychically predicted over five years ago that he would be a vice presidential contender? Or that a group of political operatives with an axe (or two) to grind would spread a false rumor?

Reality check on George LeMieux’s “conservative” voting record

By: SunshineStateSarah (Diary)  |  September 21st at 07:23 AM  |

Let me ask you a question: when you were a child, did you ever sneak a cookie from the cookie jar? You waited until your mother had left the kitchen, right? No kid is dumb enough to try and swipe a cookie while Mommy is watching.

In essence, LeMieux’s claims of a conservative voting record are the equivalent of attempting to get praise for not stealing cookies while Mommy is watching.

FL-SEN: Something’s Rotten in the State of Denmark

By: SunshineStateSarah (Diary)  |  August 29th at 03:53 PM  |

…We can only assume that LeMieux thought that propping up McCalister would damage his primary rival Adam Hasner, as McCalister and Hasner battled for conservative votes, but now, LeMieux must abandon this charade.

LeMieux owes an apology to the Stolen Valor Task Force and to all the veterans who were brave enough to come forward to tell the truth about McCalister.

These veterans did not deserve to be slandered by someone who was a United States Senator, and someone who seeks to hold that office again should have known better.

As more of Jeb Bush’s people back Adam Hasner, speculation grows about an endorsement

By: SunshineStateSarah (Diary)  |  August 25th at 05:49 PM  |

Strange bedfellows in the Florida Senate race

By: SunshineStateSarah (Diary)  |  August 24th at 08:27 PM  |

Mike McCalister owes Floridians answers about his ties to Doug Guetzloe and his true intentions in the the 2012 Senate race.

He also owes the many people who have worked hard to support the tea party movement in Florida an explanation why he would have anything to do with a man who has worked so hard to undermine their efforts.

RINOs of a feather flocking together in the FL-Sen race

By: SunshineStateSarah (Diary)  |  August 10th at 12:51 AM  |

File this under “Birds of a Feather:” George LeMieux finally got an endorsement, and he sure is proud of it. Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour announced his support for LeMaestro’s candidacy this week, and Team LeMieux wasted no time putting together some cute little graphics for his website and GoogleAds, touting the endorsement. The Cut, Cap, Balance vote and what it says about the Florida Senate race

By: SunshineStateSarah (Diary)  |  July 22nd at 08:39 PM  |

Today the Senate voted to table the “Cut Cap Balance” Act, which the GOP-led House had approved on Tuesday. “Voting to table” is Congress-speak for “we’re too chicken to deal with this, so we’re voting to sweep it under the rug.” What exactly scares the Senate so badly about this bill that they don’t even want to debate it? Haridopocalypse: Mike Haridopolos meltdown on talk radio program

By: SunshineStateSarah (Diary)  |  June 1st at 02:41 PM  |

I am absolutely flabbergasted that someone who wants to run for the United States Senate refuses to answer a simple question about how he would vote on a significant and current Republican budget proposal. Haridopolos’ answer that his vote on the Ryan plan is nothing more than a “hypothetical” is one of the worst waffles I’ve heard from a politician in a long time.
Someone needs to get Haridopolos a dictionary so he can look up “hypothetical.” (Heck, it comes from a Greek word, “hupothetikos” so you would think he might understand it!) A hypothetical is a situation based on conjecture, a statement or idea thought to be true but unproven. The Ryan plan is no hypothetical. It’s a real and specific budget plan that was brought up for a vote this week…

Also, it’s not like the Ryan plan just came out yesterday. Ryan’s catchy little YouTube video describing his plan was posted on April 4th, almost two months ago. Haridopolos has had plenty of time to hire someone to read it for him and advise him what’s in it. Instead, Haridopolos has repeatedly refused to give a direct answer about how he would have voted on this important legislation.
