Most Vulnerable House Republican Leads By 25 Points, Seriously

Representative Joseph Cao’s seat was suppose to be for Democrats what Senator Byron Dorgan’s seat is for Republicans, an automatic flip. Look at any list of seats targeted by Democrats and LA-02 is always number one. A slam dunk. Automatic.

“Thanks for keeping it warm Cao, we’ll take it back now, you race traitor.”

So what does it say when your losing your number one pick-up opportunity by 25 points? Doom. Landslide. Tsunami. Armageddon. Apocolypse…

Good for you Joseph Cao.

To be a Democrat in Louisiana must be awfully depressing.

Joseph Cao’s re-election campaign is uphill (more like up-mountain), but this is still good news to hear. He might be an interesting test case to see how long a Republican can reasonably hold on to a big city, urban district.

If he gets re-elected (which I’m still doubtful of), it would no doubt be a big loss for the Democrats. Heck, if he can even poll upwards of, say, 40% in a loss (which could happen), it will still be a huge moral victory for Republicans.

First, the poll is a month old, and it looks like internals are unavailable. Second, I have a very hard time believing the Cao is over 50% at this point.

I’d want to see a follow-up poll on this one before I believe it…
