Today's Attack On Conservative Lawmakers Warrants A Look Back At The Fraudsters

FILE - In this Jan. 26, 2017 file photo, President Donald Trump speaks at the Republican congressional retreat in Philadelphia. President Trump incorrectly claimed in a television interview that two people were shot and killed in Chicago during then-President Barack Obama's farewell speech. Chicago police records show no one was fatally shot in the city on Jan. 10, the day of Obama's speech. There were five shootings, but none occurred while Obama was speaking. What a beautiful thing.

It is a fact of living, especially in the age of the internet and 24-hour news media, that whatever bill of goods politicians try to sell to the people, eventually, their real colors will show.

We were sold a bill of good about Donald Trump by a lot of bobble-headed talkers and media personalities.

Mainstream media, the very ones he attacks as “unfair” now, breathlessly covered his every move from the day he announced, as if he were already president.

People who would have us believe they are anything more than mercenaries, using patriotism as a vehicle for padding their bank accounts saw the ratings potential and glommed on, at the expense of the well-being of the nation they claim to love.

Worse yet are those who pushed the Trump agenda as a “conservative” agenda, while ignoring that the man is surrounded by liberal, big government Democrats in his life, has long supported Democrat politicians, and even promoted big government, liberal policies on the campaign trail.

Today, Trump went after the House Freedom Caucus, the conservative wing of the Republican party, in favor of the establishment wing that men like Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh claim to be enemies to conservatism.

Is this what a “conservative” president would do?

Don’t answer. Rhetorical question.

The Reagan Battalion is a blog site that has leaned hard on Trump throughout the campaign and the election season, recognizing the very non-conservative nature of a Trump candidacy.

Last year, they launched a project to uncover the hypocrisy of those aforementioned bobbleheads who helped promote this façade of Trump as a conservative warrior, and it really is worth the time to check out.

We need this.

Much more of this.

Trump’s loyalists will protest, but I have every belief that as the year presses on, more and more will see the need of truth tellers, like the good folks over at the Reagan Battalion.
