Always Classy: Must Read Statement From President Bush on Senator John McCain

So. Much. Class.

The news that long-serving Arizona Senator John McCain has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer was a shocker, and for those who are capable of putting politics aside, it was time to send well-wishes and prayers.

I’m not a big fan of John McCain’s politics, but I wouldn’t wish this on him, nor would I wish the worry and heartache on his friends and loved ones.

The continued prayers are for recovery.

I won’t even get into all the nastiness I’ve already seen across social media. It suffices to say, some of those who are wallowing in the sewer of their own depravity and lack of human empathy had better hope karma is not a real thing (looking directly at you, Richard Spencer).

When Senator McCain went for surgery to have a blood clot removed from over his left eye last week, the cancerous tissue was discovered.

The support being voiced for the 80-year old senator has been encouraging, and bipartisan.

Former President Obama tweeted out his encouragement on Wednesday evening, after the news broke.

Today’s statement from former President George W. Bush was characteristically positive and uplifting.

It’s a wonderful word of encouragement.

This is how you bring civility back to our government. Remember that there are real people involved.
