Failed-plan expert President Obama lectures GOP on plans.
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | October 17th at 08:30 PM |
Isn’t this just the cutest thing? If the video doesn’t load, Breitbart TV pulled the relevant quote: “My plan says we’re going to put teachers back in the classrooms, construction workers back to work… Tax cuts for small businesses, tax cuts for hiring veterans, tax cuts if you give your worker a raise. That’s my plan. Then you got [the Republican's] plan which is ‘let’s | Read More »
GOP candidates! Boycott the Nevada debate*!
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | October 15th at 11:21 AM |
It’s been reported that Jon Huntsman has decided to boycott the Nevada CNN debate next Tuesday as part of a larger pushback against Nevada’s moving up its caucus date. I applaud this act of principle, and encourage all other Republican candidates** to follow suit immediately. In fact… this problematical situation vis a vis the creeping primary dates have gotten so out of hand that the | Read More »

Why is Barack Obama’s re-election in 2012 only *now* in doubt?
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | September 26th at 03:30 PM |
I should note right from the start that I like Stu Rothenberg as a pundit and a political handicapper: he’s a pretty bright person and he has a lot of experience. But Rothenberg is also very much plugged into the professional political establishment… and sometimes, it shows. Case in point: Rothenberg’s otherwise spot-on analysis about the travails of Barack Obama these days has what I | Read More »
Where’s the new [stimulus] bill Mr. Obama?
By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | September 10th at 11:30 AM |
After promising time and time again to focus on jobs. After promising time and time again to pivot to jobs. After promising time and time again to give a jobs plan speech right after his Martha’s Vineyard vacations. After promising new fresh proposals, not a rehash of plans he has pitched previously. After demanding time and time again before a joint session that Congress pass | Read More »

Obama’s new jobs plan sounds too familiar
By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | September 7th at 10:45 AM |
How is President Obama going to say anything in his big jobs speech tomorrow night that will make a difference? Apparently he is not. Obama’s new jobs plan looks remarkably like his $830 billion 2009 economic stimulus package. According to Al Hunt the latest Obama job plan stimulus includes tax cuts, infrastructure spending, unemployment benefits extension and direct aid to state and local governments. At | Read More »

Gallup: Obama slips with African-Americans, Hispanics…
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | April 7th at 09:00 AM |
Gallup mentions the most obvious point – the President has slipped from his historical approval rating among African-Americans (usually around 92%) all the way down to 85%* – but it kind of obscures a detail on the graph with regard to Hispanic voters. They acknowledge that the President is currently at a low with 54% of those voters, but Gallup does not point out that | Read More »

Obama’s leadership rating falls to a new record low
By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | February 23rd at 04:00 PM |
New Rasmussen Reports polling finds only 37% of likely voters think President Obama is doing a good or excellent job as a leader. Forty percent rate his performance as poor. The poll’s finding represents a huge shift in opinion from just a month ago after Obama delivered his State of the Union speech. Back then, 47% of voters viewed Obama’s leadership positively.
