Democrats Seek to Ban Hunting Ammunition in Wisconsin

A Democratic state senator and three Democratic state representatives have circulated draft legislation that would ban civilian possession of hollow point or frangible ammunition in Wisconsin. According to existing Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources regulations, sportsmen and women in Wisconsin must use such ammunition when hunting deer or bear. The Democratic lawmakers, two of whom are freshman, all hail from urban districts in the City of Milwaukee.

I’ll Gladly Cut Spending on Tuesday for Tax Increases Today

    J. Wellington Wimpy, or “Wimpy” of the classic cartoon Popeye, was the gluttonous friend of Popeye who loved hamburgers but was too cheap to pay for them. As Wimpy used to say, “I’m buying; he’s paying.” That seems to be the Democrats’ motto. January’s fiscal cliff deal was similar to Wimpy’s promise: Give us revenues today and we’ll cut spending later. Republicans caved and agreed | Read More »

An Open Letter To Rahm Emanuel

Dear Mayor Rahm Emanuel, In the past 13 months the city of Chicago has seen nearly 550 murders, 42 of them in the month of January alone.  It is more deadly to be on the streets of Chicago than the battlefields of Afghanistan.  Nearly all of these murders under your watch have been a result of gang members using handguns, something which the city of | Read More »

Why Liberals Hate Sheriff David Clarke

Sheriff David Clarke of Milwaukee has taken a beating from both the press and members of his own party for suggesting that law-abiding citizens consider owning a firearm to protect themselves. Clarke, a Democrat, made the suggestion in a public service announcement asking citizens to support law enforcement and take personal responsibility for their own safety. Immediately after the PSA aired Democrats in Wisconsin tripped | Read More »

Why Barack Obama Is Afraid Of Americans With Guns

Not much is known about President Barack Obama other than his record in public office and general facts about his early years.  He has redacted, partially by Executive Order, records relating to how he lived during his most formative years – from his teens until he emerges as a candidate for state-wide office in Illinois.  Snippets of documentation reveal that he attended schools in Hawaii, | Read More »

    A Gun Primer

With so much “gun talk” in the news I am finding that many people, especially, it seems, the media, are not that familiar with basic gun information. Below are some high-level definitions of the most common terms I am hearing on the news.  I am not going to get into the distinctions between, say, a ‘pistol’ and a ‘handgun’ because this is intended to just | Read More »

Life imitates art… Liberals see the world as they imagine it is, not how it actually is

I’ve always been a fan of Van Gogh’s paintings. I similarly like Renoir  and Seurat. Although I like some of Picasso’s early work, most of it I find a bit odd. My favorite artist however is William Adolphe Bouguereau, a 19th century French artist whose works are the polar opposite of the impressionists, literally. From the 1870′s his realistic portrayal of the human form was increasingly | Read More »

    Spending at Gun Point

    Spending at Gun Point

In the days leading up to President Obama announcing his gun control plans, and now that he has, the focus of Republicans and Conservatives has been squarely on his ever-encroaching attack on the Second Amendment.  As Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus stated on the President’s move, “He paid lip service to our fundamental constitutional rights, but took actions that disregard the Second Amendment and | Read More »

    Real Reasons Liberals Hate Guns

The Real Reasons Liberals Hate Guns What occurred in Newtown, Connecticut on that fateful December 14th morning was and remains heartbreaking. The sorrow being experienced by the families of the twenty innocent children killed, along with the loved ones of the other individuals slain must remain overwhelming. This tragedy, purpetrated by a crazed, lone 20-year old gunman, has vaulted the debate over gun control to | Read More »

The Purpose of the Second Amendment

The Purpose of the Second Amendment

The President is ready to announce his plans to restrict gun ownership. Most likely, nothing the President proposes will do anything to stop a future Sandy Hook. We know the President understands he is putting Democrats in a terrible spot. We know because he did nothing after the Aurora, CO shooting in the midst of a political campaign. He had to wait so he wouldn’t | Read More »

The Unworkable Federal Mental Health Background Check

The more I watch government drama and how political animals jockey around to try to gain the most mileage from each and every issue they take on, the more I am convinced that we desperately need to eviscerate the size and scope of the federal government and let the states do what only they can do best. Personally, while I know it is infuriating — | Read More »

Rape, Knock-Out King and Gun Control.

This time You People are gonna’ learn. Your betters have tolerated your quaint old-fashioned attitudes for longer than you deserve. But now they’ve grown tired of the (expletive)-dance. The Brilliant and Morally Superior Charles Blow tells you how serious serious can get in today’s NYT.

“The White House is weighing a far broader and more comprehensive approach to curbing the nation’s gun violence than simply reinstating an expired ban on assault weapons and high-capacity ammunition, according to multiple people involved in the administration’s discussions.” According to The Post’s sources, this could include measures “that would require universal background checks for firearm buyers, track the movement and sale of weapons through a national database, strengthen mental health checks, and stiffen penalties for carrying guns near schools or giving them to minors.”

This is obviously happening because Big Brother loves you. They want to protect you. This is because our government demands safe streets. It’s because, unlike evil gun makers, they care about the children.

    Why I own an AR-15.

Other than the occasional tweet, I have tried to stay out of the gun debate—largely because of Jonah Goldberg’s haunting and compelling statement: “…I nonetheless resent being dragged into the political maw so quickly after a bunch of little kids were picked off by a madman with a gun.” But something has changed that obliges me to share a personal story. Maybe it was Wayne LaPierre’s, | Read More »
