Rick Warren Goes to Washington
I wrote a while back about the two presidential candidates’ upcoming appearance at Saddleback. In that post, I wondered whether Rick Warren would have the courage to ask difficult questions of the two candidates, especially concerning Obama’s stance on abortion. Well, it looks like I’m not the only one wondering about these things. Hunter’s open letter to Rick Warren, challenging him to force Obama to | Read More »
Paging Doug Kmiec
Several days ago, former sentient being Douglas Kmiec wrote a piece in which he alleged that the Democratic party platform had become more pro-life under Obama’s watch. Not having time to actually read the platform, I took Kmiec’s word that some additional platitudes had been added, while shaking my head in sadness that anyone even vaguely familiar with Barack Obama’s abortion record could believe in | Read More »
Great Names for Pro-Abortion Parties
The Dems’ Denver Convo has some interesting parties scheduled – over 300 of them, as Swampland’s Jay Newton-Small points out. But perhaps the best named is this one: Sex, Politics, and Cocktails Late Night Dance Party Planned Parenthood Samba Room 10:00 PM – 1:00 AM email@example.com Alicia Dupre Ticketed – Open to Public Open to Media: No Free abortions after, folks.
Obama: an extremist and a liar on abortion
Obama’s abortion extremism and deception is coming to light. Yuval Levin explains: Six years ago, Congress passed the “Born-Alive Infants Protection Act,” making it illegal to kill a child who is fully born during an attempted abortion. The bill passed without a single opposing vote in either house, and was signed into law by President Bush on August 5, 2002. When he was a state | Read More »
“Barack Obama’s America”
Please vote for Phil Kline today. There are several reasons why Kline should be retained as your district attorney, but number one on my list is that he had the guts to take on the proabortion lobby And Lord knows that he has paid a significant price for having done so. Please reward Kline’s courage by reelecting him to be your district attorney. As the | Read More »
Go VOTE (after you read this)!
Cross-posted on Right Michigan at www.RightMichigan.com. How often do we decry the lack of good people in politics? The run to the center by men and women who claimed to be on the right? Folks abandoning their principles and going along to get along? We complain about it more often than it happens but that’s only a reflection of how much we care about | Read More »
A (State) Constitutional Poison Pill
This most recent application of rule by bureaucratic fiat is brought to you, once again, by the State of California and, more specifically, Attorney General Jerry Brown. Go figure. After the California State Supreme Court ruled gay marriage legal under the state’s Constitution, opponents of gay marriage have put forth a petition to put Proposition 8 on the ballot, which would amend the state Constitution | Read More »
Reading McCain’s web site, Judicial Philosophy
I think McCain believes some judges have not always based their decisions on the law. An example of such a decision is Roe v. Wade, yet their decisions have somehow been followed. He believes one thing the President could do about this problem is to appoint judges who have a record of “following the law.”(http://www.johnmccain.com/Informing/Issues/b8529d0e-381e-4a29-9c39-6a57c7e182c9.htm) Well, I think McCain’s judicial appointees wouldn’t dare touch the | Read More »
The dems are at it again
You can’t make this stuff up, folks: Senate dems are actually filing ethics complaints against Senator Tom Coburn because he delivers babies free of charge. Does anyone believe that this complaint would have been filed against Senator Coburn if he had been performing free abortions? Of course not.
The Evangelical case against Mitt Romney
The Washington Times is reporting that various Evangelical leaders are imploring John McCain not to select former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney as his running mate on the 2008 Republican Presidential ticket. There are three main reasons for this, neither of which I am particularly fond of.
“Barack Obama’s opposition to Born Alive Act”
Bill Bennett is absolutely right. The more this issue is scrutinized, the worse Obama looks. (LvFidelis)
An Open Letter to My Fellow Christians Regarding Barack Obama
Barack Obama hopes to make a dent in evangelical Christian and Catholic support for the Republican Party. At first glance, he’s a good bet to do it. John McCain, his opponent, comes from a generation that reflexively clams up about religion. Both men claim to be Christians, but Obama has mastered the rhetoric. He can speak in soaring tones about the kingdom, the glory, and | Read More »
Abortion Provider Closes Doors Instead of Obeying Laws, Old Media Silent
Now here is an interesting little story that doesn’t seem to be getting any media coverage. In South Dakota after being held up in courts since 2005, a new law finally took effect on July 21 requiring any abortion doctor to read a statement covering the possible ill effects that abortions have on women — both mental and physical — at least two hours before | Read More »
The Abortion Conundrum in Blue State America
This is my first diary posting after reading redstate.com for a while. I decided to create my own posting almost as a form of therapy. You see I am a conservative who was born in New York City, went to the most elitist liberal public schools, attended state universities, worked mostly with liberal non-profits (I was even a community organizer!!) and now live in New | Read More »
