Alternate New York Times Headline: ‘Global Warming Saves Civilization’
By: Steve Maley (Diary) | March 10th at 10:29 AM |
Like Beauty, the interpretation of scientific data is often in the eye of the beholder. I’m an engineer with more than a smattering of book-learning in the geologic sciences. It has always struck me as appalling that the scientists who would reorder our very lives around their interpretation of climate science and its implications for our future have so little interest in earth history and | Read More »

By: Repair_Man_Jack (Diary) | October 31st at 04:05 PM |
It seems that Al Qaeda has a sudden fascination in Tropical Meso-scale Meteorology. It involves large, convective, cyclonic systems that involve low barometric pressure and vast amounts of flooding and rain. They actually became cheerleaders for greater destruction. Like Medieval Japanese who believed that typhoons were sent from heaven to destroy Mongolian invasion fleets*, they cheered for injuries as Sandy roared ashore. Some examples of their enlightened follow below.

Michele Bachmann Resorts To Junk Science For Personal Advantage
By: Repair_Man_Jack (Diary) | September 14th at 01:00 PM |
A British medical panel concluded last week that Dr. Wakefield had been dishonest, violated basic research ethics rules and showed a “callous disregard” for the suffering of children involved in his research. Dr. Richard Horton, editor in chief of The Lancet, said that until that decision, he had no proof that Dr. Wakefield’s 1998 paper was deceptive. How I Lost My Amateur Status As A Fire-Breathing Racist!
By: Repair_Man_Jack (Diary) | August 29th at 12:30 PM |
Most Democrats from the Southern states opposed the bill and led an unsuccessful 83-day filibuster, including Senators Albert Gore, Sr. (D-TN), J. William Fulbright (D-AR), and Robert Byrd (D-WV), who personally filibustered for 14 hours straight. -Wikipedia, Civil Rights Act of 1964. It’s official. It’s Not Easy Going Green, Part IV
By: Steve Maley (Diary) | August 7th at 03:58 PM |
Remember jatropha? In 2007, Goldman Sachs called it one of the best candidates for future biofuels. Time Magazine touted its promise in an article from January, 2009: Renewable energy, it turns out, does grow on trees. The fruit pods plucked from jatropha trees have seeds that produce clean-burning diesel fuel. But unlike corn and other biofuel sources, the jatropha doesn’t have to compete with food | Read More »
Louis XI Could Save France. Al Gore and Barack Obama Can Not Save America.
By: Repair_Man_Jack (Diary) | June 29th at 01:15 PM |
King Louis XI was a hated man. His passing was not mourned by his subjects and his feudal vassals undoubtedly emitted a great sigh of relief upon his expiration. Louis XI schemed, tricked, back-knifed, bribed and practiced all the numerous black arts of political skullduggery. He had no great moral difficulty with killing his brothers or his dad. He did all this in service of | Read More »
A mini-Ice Age?
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | June 14th at 08:45 PM |
Better throw some more logs on the fire. What may be the science story of the century is breaking this evening, as heavyweight US solar physicists announce that the Sun appears to be headed into a lengthy spell of low activity, which could mean that the Earth – far from facing a global warming problem – is actually headed into a mini Ice Age. Crazed Sex Poodle update.
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | July 3rd at 04:38 PM |
This week was the calm before the storm: they’ve reopened the case, possibly because there may be DNA evidence on a pair of pants, and possibly because it looks bad when there’s even a suggestion that the rich and powerful can count on sexual assault allegations… going away. Meanwhile, via Instapundit, Politico is reporting that the story is going mainstream in the national media. Hillbuzz | Read More »

Fun game for your morning: see how far you get into this report before you develop this sudden and burning need to go find a rock, and throw it at Al Gore. I personally made it to page 13. Background, for those unaware of the story: it’s alleged – I want to make that clear; alleged – that back in 2006 Gore attempted to force | Read More »
Al Gore: sinking his carbon for DECADES?
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | June 16th at 05:54 PM |
That is precisely the question that the Washington Times is asking at the end of this piece: Rumors of former Vice President Al Gore’s extramarital affairs have been whispered in D.C. for many years, but fondness for Tipper and loyalty to Gore has protected him. So, the public has been shocked – with many still in denial – by tabloid reports of his infidelities. The | Read More »
