GOP Governors stand with Scott Walker
By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | March 1st at 10:01 AM |
The Republican Governors Association has a new television ad defending Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker in his Kerfuffle with the Obama campaign machine, and Obama’s suddenly stealthy union support, over certain Bargaining rights for Wisconsin public workers’ unions: “It’s a sea of red ink in Madison and while senate Democrats are fleeing their responsibility, governor Walker is leading. . . . In Wisconsin, leaders don’t run | Read More »
The Non-Conspiracy
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | March 1st at 09:45 AM |
“These people are not fools. They want a world where we all live in big cities and use the sun and wind to run our lives — a return to the 14th century with 21st century hygiene.” It is not a conspiracy. Some of you think it is. It is not. A conspiracy is a secret plot by two or more people to do something | Read More »
Tech at Night: Net Neutrality, Copyright, Patent, Security
By: Neil Stevens (Diary) | March 1st at 03:30 AM |
Hello! There’s no one clear theme of things to discuss tonight. It’s a diverse list of topics, so let’s just muddle on through and see what’s going on. We’ve got some good news from what the Republicans in Washington are going. On the Senate side, the side we haven’t heard nearly as much about thanks to the Obama-Reid majority there, conservative Republicans are taking key | Read More »

Obama hides his union label
By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | February 28th at 09:01 AM |
Democrats are wondering why President Obama isn’t speaking out in support of the public workers’ unions in Wisconsin, Indiana and Ohio. Several, including Representatives Keith Ellison of Minnesota, Chellie Pingree of Maine, and Judy Chu of California have urged Obama to do more to stand by public employees. They have a point. Obama did accuse Gov. Walker of an “assault” on unions and it was | Read More »
It’s What Happens When an Unstoppable Force Hits a Malleable Object
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | February 25th at 10:28 AM |
“Barack Obama and the Democrats have misread voter sentiment throughout the last two years. There is nothing to indicate they will get it right this time.” We stare into the abyss today — the abyss that comes when a political party’s spine is removed and we stare down into the cavity . . . longingly . . . waiting . . . dreaming of what | Read More »

Secret White House Meetings
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | February 24th at 09:03 AM |
Remember all that highfalutin rhetoric from Barack Obama about not doing business with lobbyists, etc? Well, we already knew it was a lie given the number of lobbyists he let into the White House to work after saying he wouldn’t. But it appears the lie is a serial lie. Obama is having his minion take meetings with lobbyists routinely, but they are doing it outside | Read More »
Tech at Night: Copyright, COICA, Google, Net Neturality, Internet Kill Switch
By: Neil Stevens (Diary) | February 24th at 03:30 AM |
On Monday I did the first half of my catchup work. Now we’ll do the second half. And one of the big issues coming up is copyright. Over the last thirty years, copyright in America has been radically reformed. While traditionally it worked as patents still do work, as a temporary grant of monopoly enforceable in civil courts, we’ve gradually moved them into the realm | Read More »

Gallup: Obama Under 50% among ‘Adults’ in 38 States
By: Daniel Horowitz (Diary) | February 23rd at 08:48 PM |
Gallup has collected the data from their daily tracking polls throughout 2010 and contrasted the results to the same information from 2009. Not surprisingly, their findings show that Obama has suffered a decline in every state since 2009. His unpopularity is now ubiquitous. Overall, Obama’s national approval rating has dropped 11% from 58% to 47%. Furthermore, the polling data collected from nearly 180,000 interviews shows | Read More »
Obama finally breaks silence on violence in Libya
By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | February 23rd at 06:00 PM |
President Obama condemned the violence in Libya, dispatched Secretary of State Clinton to Geneva for talks aimed at stopping the bloodshed, and said he directed his administration to prepare a full range of options to respond. Obama also said the suffering and bloodshed is outrageous and unacceptable. Obama made these profound announcements Wednesday evening — his first public comments on the violent unrest sweeping Libya. | Read More »
Obama’s leadership rating falls to a new record low
By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | February 23rd at 04:00 PM |
New Rasmussen Reports polling finds only 37% of likely voters think President Obama is doing a good or excellent job as a leader. Forty percent rate his performance as poor. The poll’s finding represents a huge shift in opinion from just a month ago after Obama delivered his State of the Union speech. Back then, 47% of voters viewed Obama’s leadership positively. Other interesting findings | Read More »
Obama slinks away from Wisconsin union fight
By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | February 21st at 04:01 PM |
After throwing the weight of the presidency and its campaign apparatus behind the Wisconsin public workers’ unions, the Obama regime is now backing away. The New York Times reports the regime claims it did “nothing to encourage the demonstrations in Wisconsin.” This latest bit of Obama trying to have it both ways can only mean someone has read the polls and knows Obama blew it. | Read More »
Barack Obama’s Stand With Unions in Wisconsin is Hurting Him
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | February 21st at 10:54 AM |
Supporting public sector unions in Wisconsin must be hurting Barack Obama. We know because he is using the New York Times to back away from his earlier statements and the tactics of his own Organizing for America. In fact, the White House says the involvement of the DNC and OFA “were overblown from the start”, but even the Times can’t help but note Before Mr. | Read More »
Bring It: The Debt Deniers Will Lose
By: Melissa Clouthier (Diary) | February 17th at 03:30 PM |
The Debt Deniers wage a rebellion in Wisconsin. Bring it. Wisconsin unions rebel at the notion, that they, like every other American must contribute to their own retirement. They cry because, like every other American, they may have to pay a percentage of their own health care. Who is out of touch again?
Politics Trumps Security
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | February 16th at 09:46 AM |
The Heritage Foundation has the details on how the Democrats have decided unionization trumps objective security concerns. Those security concerns could legitimately be hampered by unionization. Last night, on a purely partisan 47–51 vote, the Senate rejected an amendment that would have stopped government unions from organizing Transportation Security Administration (TSA) employees. The vote was made possible by an announcement two Fridays ago by President | Read More »
