Great Leaders Develop Leadership in Others
This was originally posted on TCU Nation as a comment. It is re-posted here with permission. National demonstrations of Revolutionary spirit appear to be more than fleeting episodes of civic passion. Stirred by the recent torrents of forceful bureaucracy, Americans seem to know their liberty is in jeopardy. Many spontaneous protests evoke the Boston Tea Party. There, feverous speeches channel the Founders and are brilliantly | Read More »
Allen P. Stayman and the Radicalization of Democratic Campaigns
Allen P. Stayman is a +$100,000 professional staff member of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee. But lately he has descended into the type of radicalized hackery that has become the hallmark of Democrat campaigns. He is engaging in ambush interviews of Bob Schaffer, the Republican Senatorial candidate in Colorado. The interviews are on YouTube. Keep in mind that Allen lists himself as a | Read More »
Working for McCain-Palin in Colorado
My 17-year-old son and I spent three hours yesterday on the phones making calls to registered Republicans yesterday. My 15-year-old daughter, and 13-year-old son joined us to go door-to-door for another three hours, encouraging folks to get out and vote (if they had not already done so). The campaign office was crowded with people. Every phone was in use, and some people were waiting for | Read More »
Udall (CO) campaign: “Ha! There’s no bus allocation in that Department of Peace thing that he supported!”
I will not hide the truth from you: this is a silly ad. It’s from Freedom’s Watch, and it’s there to support Bob Schaffer, and it’s a silly ad. It’s a good ad: it aims for funny-obnoxious, and gets there – but it’s still silly. It’d not be on my list for Ultimate Awesome… …until I discovered that the Udall campaign absolutely freaked over it.
Quick talk with Senator DeMint.
Senator DeMint stopped by briefly; as usual, we had a few questions for him. Generally, Senator DeMint is positive about the election, saying that McCain’s stances show that he’s serious about changes and reform in the party. He is pleased with the Palin pick, and absolutely discounts any chance of an Eagleton scenario. She’ll have to take on Barack Obama and Joe Biden. Given that | Read More »
Colorado Dems Lose Battle for Oil, Go after McCain on Water
According to an article at the Denver Post, Republican Presidential candidate, Senator John McCain (R-AZ) suggested that the Colorado River Water Compact should be renegotiated. Colorado Democrat Governor Bill Ritter and Senator Ken Salazar (D-CO) seized on this word used by McCain and put their own meaning to it. Salazar claims, The political disruption that would result from any renegotiation of these allocations would create | Read More »
Mark Udall’s Day Off – The Feature
H/T to El Presidente at Schaffer v Udall The National Republican Senatorial Committee has put out a feature length (3:21) commercial regarding Mark Udall’s missed vote in the House to keep them in session to address a comprehensive energy bill.
Udall’s Oathbreaking on the energy vote.
It’d be accurate either way. I have one difference of opinion with Ed Morrissey about this: the NRSC should get it down to 30 seconds, and set up the full video at its own dedicated website. It’s one of the better campaign slams we’ve seen this cycle, and very good on its own merits – but a couple of minutes of air time is still | Read More »
Ken Salazar: No OCS drilling, even when it’s $10/gallon for gas.
I give up. I figured that six bucks a gallon was a nice, round number with which to beat the Democrats with about the head and shoulders. Which it would be. For rational people. But freaking ten? (Via Hot Air) What are you willing to bet that Senator Salazar hasn’t paid for his own gas in years? – because he certainly seems perfectly happy to | Read More »
NH and CO SEN – GOPers Make Gains
NH-SEN: UNH:Sununu 42 (40)Shaheen 46 (52) Rasmussen:Sununu 45 (39)Shaheen 50 (53) The 14 point lead from the last Rasmussen was the biggest one they have shown in the race. But the small 5-point margin in the most recent poll is the closest the race has been since last September. This race is a re-match from 2002 when Sununu won 51-47. Shaheen is a popular ex-GOV | Read More »
Bob Schaffer Gets Conservative Endorsement
Jim DeMint’s Senate Conservative Fund is endorsing Bob Schaffer in Colorado. That’s great news. Schaffer is a good conservative. During his three terms in Congress from 1997-2002, Schaffer earned a 99 percent Lifetime Rating with the American Conservative Union. His average National Taxpayers’ Union ranking was 13th in the entire House, and he received the fourth highest score on two separate occasions. The Democrats thought | Read More »
Did you like what Bob Schaffer did to Mark Udall?
I’m talking about this (via Constant Reader NightTwister and [Allahpundit] (http://hotair.com/archives/2008/07/17/video-hey-remember-when-you-helped-get-us-into-iraq/) ): Well, if you did… he wouldn’t mind some help. The man has an uphill slog.
And This Debate is OVER
Former congressman and Colorado Republican Senate candidate Bob Schaffer had a debate with congressman and Democrat Senate candidate Mark Udall this past week. I was unable to attend, but there was quite a lively crowd. Mark Udall was blindsided by Bob Schaffer during the debate with his response to a question from the channel 9 News moderator. This is one that’s best seen, rather than | Read More »
