Hugo Chavez Esta Muerta

Time Magazine amazes me this morning. It prints one of the most intelligent and thoughtful descriptions of who and what Venezuelan Dictator Hugo Chavez was during his brief, frightening and frenetic life.

Chávez called himself a “21st century socialist.” In reality he was a throwback to the dogmatic and authoritarian 20th century socialism of Castro, Cuba’s former dictator, and to the 19th century caudillo tradition of Chávez’s demigod, South American independence hero Simón Bolívar. Chávez hoped that being democratically elected would obscure the fact that he didn’t govern all that democratically. It didn’t. So it’s tempting to dismiss him as an anachronism, a vulgar populist famous for gratuitous yanqui bashing — for calling then U.S. President George W. Bush a malodorous “devil” at the U.N. in 2006 — an erratic and messianic retro-revolutionary whose country’s vast petrowealth let him indulge his Marxist nostalgia.

For many, Hugo Chavez was a living, breathing throwback to the Cold War Era. A fitting reminder of how dead, backwards and bereft of original thought the so-called Progressives truly are. This was their icon, their Homo Universale. Ecce Homo! That man was Hugo Chavez.

Failed Leaders With Failed Agendas Always Blame The Speculators

It’s worth noting that, although the President of the United States hasn’t the power of Generalisimo Chavez, Pres. Obama’s attacks on speculators are just as politically opportunistic and economically ignorant – and potentially as destructive – as are any such attacks issued by Latin American dictators… – Don Boudreaux, Café Hayek. If anyone out there still needed a primer on why a Government-Centered Society was | Read More »

    Nobel Appeasement Prize

A tremendous amount of speculation has resulted from the announcement of the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize. Critics have reacted sharply to his perceived unworthiness. Even devoted supporters have questioned his rather modest list of accomplishments. I review some previous winners. I also offer some explanations for bestowing the honor on Obama.

    The Third World War

The Third World War has begun and it is not what we expected. America and the Western world are facing a danger no country has ever faced before. Our enemy is not a government nor is it a country. We are fighting enemies who are willing to kill themselves in order to kill us. This war makes our conventional Army, Navy and Air forces impotent. | Read More »

    Venezuela’s end of quote/unquote Democracy

Talk about letting the Genie out of the bottle! From Yahoo: “Chavez seeks power to rule by decree for 1 year Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez on Tuesday asked congress to grant him special powers to enact laws by decree for one year, just before a new legislature takes office with a larger contingent of opposition lawmakers.” OK folks, let me give you a “What If”. | Read More »

New World Order Recipe: Add Venezuela, Iran & Russia, Bake at Atomic Level

(As seen on www.OurLastStand.com) What is going on in Venezuela? I have three articles to reference in this post that span multiple countries involved. Needless to say, when Russia, Iran and Venezuela are involved, the news is probably not “good”. Russia was at least involved, during the course of these wars, in supplying firearms to Iran to be used in Iraq against our soldiers. So | Read More »

One-World Socialist Order Contest; Obama v. Chavez

Democratic stenographer, Jill Burcum of the official newsletter of The Party, the StarTribune, has invented a little game.  She calls it “Two for Tea, But Who Will Be the One?”  In this little corker, she compares the attributes of the two women the professional Left love to hate, Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann.  Burcum has decided to help out the rest of the lame-brained media | Read More »

Social Justice, One for All as Long as it is Fair!

In an article from Bloomberg: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2010-10-31/chavez-says-venezuela-s-golf-courses-should-be-seized-put-to-other-uses.html Chavez Says Venezuela’s Golf Courses Should Be Seized, Put to Other Uses. That’s an injustice — that someone should have the luxury of having I don’t know how many hectares to play golf and drink whiskey and, next door, there’s misery and children dying when there are landslides,” Chavez said during his weekly television show, “Alo, Presidente.” Emphisis is | Read More »

    On The Road Again.

Barack Hussein Obama is on the campaign trail again, while many of his party members are looking for rocks to hide under. Obama never stopped campaigning. The difference now is that even the slavish leftist press has had stilted commentary on Obama’s handling of the nation’s economy. Obama’s intentional destruction of our economy will certainly succeed unless we stop it. Do you want to see | Read More »

Mid-term elections in Venezuela: Did revolution make it on the ballot?

As reported by the Christian Science Monitor, Venezuela’s communist dictator Hugo Chavez faces his biggest challenge to retain his political voting monopoly since ascending to power almost twelve years ago. Citizens of Venezuela are building in dissatisfaction with the country’s growing crime rate and poor economy. As Steven Bodzin of the Monitor reports, the token opposition parties that currently exist under the totalitarian reign of | Read More »

Authoritarian Socialism producing results in Venezuela

It’s amazing! MSNBC posts a NYT article that is critical of Venezuela. Venezuela endures worse murder rate than Iraq. A lot worse. Who knew that things have not been going well in that Socialist Paradise to the south, that the liberals are so proud of? In Iraq, a country with about the same population as Venezuela, there were 4,644 civilian deaths from violence in 2009, | Read More »
