SuperPACs Spend $6.5 Million In Colorado TV Ads So Far This Month

SuperPACs spent over $6.5 million in television advertising in the Denver market between October 1 and October 24th, a Media Trackers analysis reveals. TV station records showed Republican SuperPACs with an edge in both money spent and the number of ads on the air.
In the last weeks leading up to election day, liberal and conservative SuperPACs have flooded Colorado’s airwaves with ads meant to convince the dwindling number of undecided voter to pick a candidate, preferably the one the SuperPAC is supporting.

Former White House counsel associate Scott Coffina accused U.S. Secretary of Interior Ken Salazar of violating the Hatch Act during a recent campaign trip to Colorado. Mailers from the Martinez Campaign claim the candidate “worked to decrease uninsured rates and recruit employers to provide healthcare to workers in six counties.” According to reports available at the Division of Insurance, however, CarePoint covers just 116 residents in the San Luis Valley area — a mere 2.4 percent of coverage that was promised when the government program that funds CarePoint was first expanded.
