Congratulations Christine O’Donnell
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | September 14th at 09:35 PM |
The same people who told us we had to go with Charlie Crist also told us we had to go with Mike Castle. The Republican voters of Delaware said, “no thanks,” just like the voters in Florida. Tonight Christine O’Donnell is the Republican nominee in Delaware and Mike Castle is defeated. A pretty good night so far.
Castle & Impeachment
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | September 14th at 08:30 PM |
I had wanted to post this earlier today, but got busy getting ready for a two week trip. It is still timely and relevant. Over the past 24 hours, Mike Castle has been attacked for voting to refer Articles of Impeachment to the House Judiciary Committee against President George W. Bush. He did. So did 24 other Republicans including Peter King of New York. Now, | Read More »
Kaboom, part one: O’Donnell over Castle
By: Neil Stevens (Diary) | September 13th at 11:00 AM |
I said twice before that Christine O’Donnell’s big challenge in the Delaware Republican primary for Senate was that she needed to give the voters a reason to vote for her over the popular Mike Castle. For the whole primary season, she’d failed at that. Judging by the new PPP poll, she’s very recently had great success. She leads.
Mike Castle Ain’t Backbone

“For those who think getting a Republican majority back in the Senate is the solution to our problems, you miss the naked reality that we had a sizable majority and it was liberal[s] … like Castle, and the supposed conservatives who empowered them, who drove the Party and the nation into a ditch, handing the reins to nutjob leftists in the process.” Much has been | Read More »
Why DE Republicans Should Vote For Mike Castle.
By: Martin Knight (Diary) | September 13th at 07:40 AM |
By and large, I heartily despise GOP “moderates.” Most especially “moderate” Republicans that allow themselves to be used as a foil against other Republicans so the media can cast the party as being full of “extremists” with them being the only ones who are “reasonable” in the caucus. My posting history for the past five years on RS is proof of that. So what about | Read More »
A Few More Thoughts on Delaware
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | September 8th at 05:00 AM |
i wrote multiple times in my post the other day that I still want Christine O’Donnell to win the Delaware Primary, and I do. See for example this line: “I wish Christine O’Donnell the best. I’d rather her than Castle.” and this line: “I want Christine O’Donnell to win.” Nonetheless, many people read my prior post as a decision to support Castle, which I made | Read More »
Rasmussen: Castle greatly outperforms O’Donnell
By: Neil Stevens (Diary) | September 7th at 01:13 PM |
I’m definitely a latecomer to following the Delaware Senate primary between Republicans Mike Castle and Christine O’Donnell, but now that I’m aware of it, it’s striking to me just how differently the two candidates perform in the new Rasmussen poll featuring each candidate against Democrat Chris Coons.
A Friendly Note to Liberty.com

Promoted from the diaries by Aaron Gardner Yeah, I am an O’Donnell supporter and I am promoting this. Being a player in politics requires you to be mature, Liberty.Com wasn’t. The ad was atrocious and it may have single handedly destroyed any chance for O’Donnell. I will be writting a small defense of O’Donnell over the weekend, as a contrast to Erick – though I | Read More »
Pulling the Plug in Delaware: The Liberty.com and Christine O’Donnell Matter
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | September 3rd at 05:00 AM |
I would rather die a thousand times over via crushing by an anaconda while being torn limb from limb by a jaguar than see Mike Castle in the Senate. I would rather be slowly run over by a road roller while listening to Janeane Garofalo dialogue from The Truth About Cats and Dogs than see Mike Castle in the Senate. I’d rather see the Democrat | Read More »
Extrapolating about the Delaware Senate primary
By: Neil Stevens (Diary) | September 1st at 12:30 PM |
All the talk in your typical Senate analysis this year has assumed Republican Mike Castle will beat Democrat Chris Coons in the Delaware Senate race, but the fact is there’s still a GOP primary in progress. It’s forgivable to forget about that primary when polling of the primary is scarce, and PPP and Rasmussen hold Coons under 40, but let’s extrapolate from the PPP poll | Read More »
Battleground Senate Poll
By: Neil Stevens (Diary) | August 11th at 03:00 PM |
From Unlikely Voter: In an open and credited aping of the Greenberg Quinlan Rosner House battleground polls, Public Opinion Strategies has conducted a massive Senate battleground poll. Politico has for us the summary and 150 pages of gory, numerical details. I’m going to see what sense I can make of it.

Why is Mike Castle Running From Christine O’Donnell?
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | August 2nd at 08:00 AM |
If Mike Castle becomes the next United States Senator from Delaware he is going to get sworn in, serve a bit, then become a Democrat, resign, and let Beau Biden get an appointment. It’s a done deal. The deal has been made already. I’m hearing this not just from Christine O’Donnell people, but party regulars in Delaware, some of whom support Castle. It is insane. | Read More »
Christine O’Donnell for U.S. Senate
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | June 28th at 01:20 PM |
I have to be honest with you, I think Christine O’Donnell’s bid for the United States Senate will be difficult. She’s a conservative in Delaware. But she has my full support. The thought of Mike Castle in the United States Senate makes me sick to my stomach. There is one practical reason to support Mike Castle. People tell me he will vote for the Republicans | Read More »
