Birth Of A DNC Talking Point
Have you ever wondered where a DNC talking point comes from? Most people think they come from a ‘playbook’ but this cartoon has surfaced, showing the real story. The only thing missing is that big rubber stamp that says “Bush’s Fault!”

Ever hear of the digger wasp?
Fascinating critters, if admittedly an excellent source for nightmare fuel: Wasps of the genus Sphex (commonly known as digger wasps) are cosmopolitan predators of the family Sphecidae that sting and paralyze prey insects. There are over 130 known digger wasp species. In preparation for egg laying, they construct a protected “nest” (some species dig nests in the ground, while others use pre-existing holes) and then | Read More »
DWS Destroyed by…Glenn Greenwald
The old adage is that a broken clock is right twice a day. Apparently, it’s Glenn Greenwald’s time. Writing for the UK’s Guardian (the same paper that hired, and then fired, RedState Great Old One and Co-Founder Joshua Trevino, he takes Debbie Wasserman-Schultz to task for her complete ignorance of Obama’s “Kill List” that she displayed after this last debate. Greenwald writes:
Obama Speech: Multiply Failure, Divide the Country
What has always amazed me about Democrat policies is that they feign outrage over the need to implement them, even though they have already been championed by both parties, and have produced negative results. Government has already invested in crony capitalism and has already micro-managed every sector of the economy; from higher education to agriculture, health care, and energy. Many of these policies have been | Read More »
Democrats Exposed Naked on God and Jerusalem
The real momentous news at the DNC yesterday was not Bill Clinton’s Clintonian speech. It was the imbroglio over God and Jerusalem in the party’s platform, when party leaders were forced to reinsert references to God and Jerusalem to the dismay of the party faithful. Here are a few points to consider: 1) The two parties are a mirror image of each other in terms | Read More »
2008 No More: Obama Acceptance Speech Moved to 75% Smaller Venue
In 2008, standing between artificial columns designed to recall the White House Rose Garden, then-Senator Barack Obama accepted the Democratic nomination for president at Denver’s Invesco Field in front of a record crowd of 84,000. It’s clearly not 2008 any more. A similar-sized venue was chosen for now-President Obama’s acceptance speech this year’s Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, where Panther Stadium/The Big Outdoor Football Stadium/Bank of America | Read More »
DWS Caught Fibbing as the DNC Throws Israel Under the Bus
As something of a political junkie, I must admit that I’ve seen some pretty ridiculous statements over the years. Politicians do, after all, twist and turn like twisty-turny things in their efforts to make the untrue true.* However, Debbie Wasserman-Schultz’s recent statement about the GOP and Israel has got to be among the most patently false statements of this whole campaign. Philip Klein of the | Read More »
DNC Opens with the Declaration ‘Government Is The Only Thing We All Belong To’ (Updated with Romney Response)
Tonight, the Democratic National Convention officially got under way – and the party of “You Didn’t Build That,” “We Made It Possible,” record food stamp enrollment, nationalized health care, and record deficits opened its gala with a video declaration that “Government is the only thing we all belong to.” It’s not our culture that binds us together, nor our nationality, our freedom, our values, or | Read More »
The Democrats Going To Charlotte
The Republican Party lost the White House to a vastly different Democratic Party in 1992 than the lost it to in 2008. The Democratic Party of 1992 represented an effort by the Democrats to communicate with poorer families, living in what are termed “working class neighborhoods.” The modern Democratic Party views these people as a legacy population that the state will just have to support. The difference in composition between the previous Democratic Party championed by Bill Clinton and the newer Democratic Party represented by Barack Obama has led to a situation that has put Barack Obama squarely on the defensive for the past three years of his Presidency. It may well have been the final impetus for The Jacksonian uprising that dubbed itself The Tea Party.
Joel Kotkin writes in the Daily Beast about this phenomenon. He opines that “Barack Obama’s New Chicago Politics Abandon Bill Clinton’s Winning Coalition.” He makes some particularly valid points about the Democratic Party and its new coalition that properly address the New Left gravamen of the Democratic Party. This explains well the policy choices this organization would make if they were given unlimited power.

Happy ‘National Empty Chair Day’
In honor of Labor Day, and as Democrats gather for their national convention, Conservatives have declared today “National Empty Chair Day.”
Yes, it’s play on Clint Eastwood’s infamous speech to an empty chair representing an absent President Obama during the Republican National Convention. Conservatives are going after Obama’s record using the hashtag the hashtag #emptychairday.

Radical Islam Joins the DNC
Starting at the end of this month the Democratic National Convention will open with a focus on Islam. 20,000 Muslims are expected to attend according to the Bureau of Indigenous Muslim Affairs (BIMA), the national Muslim American non-profit coordinating the two days of events they claim are non-political. ”Jumah at the DNC” begins August 29 and will start with a Friday afternoon jummah prayer followed by other unnamed | Read More »
RNC: People v. Obamacare. [UPDATED.]
Commendably fast of the RNC: Also, Mitt Romney just finished his press conference. He understands the basics: this is a 500 billion dollar tax hike* on the American people, it will not stand, and so if elected President Mitt Romney will KILL IT WITH FIRE on day one. And that’s pretty much how it has to go. If you want Obama’s health tax gone, well, | Read More »
If the Presidential Election were to take place tomorrow, Barack Obama would win a 2nd term by a razor-thin margin. He has basically led Mitt Romney from wire-to-wire thus far, but has failed to put him away. However, a confluence of recent trends in fundraising, burn rate and overall enthusiasm suggests that Barack Obama will have to significantly change his current trajectory if he wants | Read More »
Charlotte Democratic convention’s appeal simply becoming more selective*.
It would appear that the Democratic party cannot afford a fourth day of festivities, to the point where they’re going to cancel their orignial kickoff event at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. But don’t worry: the ceremonial anointing of The One will still be taking place at the Bank of America Stadium. Hold on, let me repeat that, for the benefit of the six remaining progressives | Read More »
