Today will be another day of Obama Solicitor General Elena Kagan one-on-one meetings with Senators. As Senators review the qualifications and actions of Elena Kagan to be the next Supreme Court Justice, they should hold her to the high standard that she sought to impose on conservative nominees. In 1995 Kagan wrote a review of the book “The Confirmation Mess” by Stephen L. Carter and she complained of | Read More »

Missourians are no doubt curious about what the two leading candidates in the 2010 Missouri Senate race think about President Obama’s nomination of Elena Kagan to replace Justice John Paul Stevens on the Supreme Court. Solicitor General Elena Kagan will be making some house calls for one-on-one courtesy meetings with Senators. I can’t tell you how many times over the past two days I hear conservatives say “yeah, Kagan is bad, but if she is defeated or withdrawn, we will get somebody worse.” As many teams are finding out right now in the NBA and NHL playoffs, never look past | Read More »

Not that the White House cares. Or do most of the people reading this, except in a theoretical, pass-the-popcorn sense, I suppose: The White House today posted on its website a video allowing Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan to speak “in her own words” about her personal history and perspective. In the interview, conducted by a White House staffer who produces videos for the administration, | Read More »
Elena Kagan Played Softball. So What?
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | May 11th at 11:44 PM |
Apparently Elena Kagan is a softball player, or something like that. It is not a subject I care to write about, want to write about, or think is relevant to much of anything considering the woman’s only definitive answer on any matter of jurisprudence is that she believes there is no federal constitutional right to gay marriage. So that’s that. Except it isn’t. And it | Read More »

Yesterday, President Obama rolled out Elena Kagan, the current Solicitor General and nominee to replace Justice John Paul Stevens on the Supreme Court. The left wing noise machine distributed talking points to fight the argument that Kagan’s lacked necessary judicial and legal experience for the Supreme Court.
