Last week, with the help of Senator Orrin Hatch, the Senate Finance Committee voted to extend dozens of special interest tax preferences for green energy – preferences that are nothing more than subsidies and market distorters. It never ceases to amaze me that so many self-described conservatives will defend Mitch McConnell and the GOP Senate Leaders to the hilt when it comes to their treatment of Senate conservatives. So let’s get this straight. There’s vacancy on the Senate Finance Committee. Tom Coburn is the only significant fiscal conservative on the committee.
