Obama’s Oil Drilling Subterfuge
Many liberals in the media are expressing shock over Obama’s apparent willingness to increase oil production. We all know that he is full of …, I mean ethanol, and they do too. Those of you who were befuddled at the news that Obama will ‘expand drilling’ in Alaska are not missing anything. Obama has pulled this political chicanery a number of times. Whenever a specific | Read More »

Sixty bucks for gas and Mickey Dee’s.
Permit me to establish some general, life-experience-style benchmarks for our current domestic economy. This morning, I went out to fill up the gas tank of the car, and treat my kids to some fast-food breakfast. Nothing fancy: the car does not take premium gasoline, and we’re talking breakfast sandwiches and a hotcakes and sausage level of drive-through. Here are the receipts. SIXTY DOLLARS.
‘Why does my gas cost $4.00 per gallon?’
Everybody is asking that question these days. The average nationwide price for all grades this week is $3.96/gallon; Californians are paying on average $4.26, the highest in the nation. Why does it cost so much, especially considering that the price was below $2.00/gallon just within the last couple of years? Nearly seventy percent of the price of a gallon of retail gasoline is the price | Read More »
Blast from the Past: ‘Remember $4.00 Gas? Just Wait.’ (Dec ’09)
From Vladimir’s diary, dated December 18, 2009: Remember $4.00 per Gallon Gasoline? Just Wait. Well, here we are, less than 18 months later. A little context: Gasoline prices (national average, all grades) peaked over $4.00 per gallon for a couple of months in the summer of 2008. Prices bottomed in December 2008 at $1.66. By December 2009, at the time of the writing of the | Read More »
Let’s Harness American Energy To Lower Gas Prices And Create Jobs
Like many Ohioans, I experienced sticker shock today when I filled up at our neighborhood gas station outside Cincinnati. Regular unleaded was $3.79 a gallon. Some Ohioans are already seeing gas prices over four dollars per gallon, and higher prices may be on the horizon. This makes it more expensive to commute, drive to the store or take a vacation. Because oil fuels every | Read More »
Barack Obama Comes Out For Even HIGHER Gas Prices
I realize Barack Obama graduated magna cum laude from Harvard and was Editor of Harvard Law Review, but I’m starting to think he’s not that bright — or at least lacks sense (never mind that he won’t release his college transcripts). He’s definitely an amateur and it shows when, late yesterday, Obama came out in favor of even higher gas prices. As a friend noted | Read More »
Lawrence O’Donnell Is Biblically Ignorant and Barack Obama Comes Out In Favor of HIGHER Gas Prices #EERS
Lawrence O’Donnell today decided to lecture Rush Limbaugh about Jesus Christ and hellishly falls on his face. Barack Obama came out in favor of higher gas prices today and his press secretary got all defensive over whether or not Obama is a Christian. We’ll discuss all this and more tonight on the Erick Erickson Show on WSB starting at 7:05 p.m. ET. You can listen | Read More »
Barack Obama: Out of touch with large families
This really is amazing. At a townhall about gas prices, a parent of ten expressed concern about high gas prices and the impact it has on the family budget. Obama’s response? He tells the parent to sell his van that holds his ten kids and get a hybrid car van.
Can’t Afford Gas For Your Car? Trade It in, Rubes Says Obama
According to the AP, after bravely running away from the impending Government shut-down Crisis ™, President Obama attended a townhall meeting in Pennsylvania. During the course of the rally townhall meeting, he had this to say in response to a father of ten children relaying that he could not afford to fill his gas tank: Obama says little short-term help for gas prices “Obama needled one | Read More »
Sherrod Brown admits free trade in oil will save us (and himself)
You may have heard that there was an election in Ohio last year. Popular Governor Ted Strickland (D) was defeated in his re-election campaign by John Kasich (R), and Lieutenant Governor Lee Fisher (D) was crushed in the Senate race by former Bush advisor Rob Portman (R). Senator Sherrod Brown (D) has sure noticed. He’s also noticed that gas prices are going up, and up, | Read More »

Blame the Democrats for High Gas Prices
In the Atlanta area, where I am, gas prices are up $0.77 from where they were a year ago. It is worth noting that Democrats have been politicizing and blocking expanded oil drilling for quite some time. Consider this: “Critics (of Arctic drilling), including Sen. John F. Kerry, D-Mass., say the drilling plan would violate the nation’s last remaining pristine wilderness. Moreover, they charge, the | Read More »
