(Via Instapundit) It’s the little things that underscore the pettiness that’s infesting the Democratic party’s leadership these days: Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) wanted to fly 10 lawmakers down to the Gulf of Mexico to see the damage caused by BP’s gigantic oil spill first hand. House Democrats said no.

…by belatedly canceling a Democratic fundraising appearance: Environmental Protection Agency administrator Lisa Jackson has canceled her appearance at a Democrat fundraiser hours after Politico published a story detailing that engagement. Jackson was scheduled to appear at a breakfast in Manhattan Thursday to benefit the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. An EPA spokesman noted that the appearance was scheduled before the oil spill occurred.

Obama not leading in Gulf. And this was a *surprise*?
