March on Washington #2
I am calling for another March on Washington on March 26, before the Easter recess, in order to kill Obamacare once and for all. Both the House and Senate plan to be in recess starting March 29: My best guess is that the first March on Washington drew a few hundred thousand people to DC, but was a failure due to the lack of media | Read More »
Once More Unto the Breach
As you read this, President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, and Senator Reid are lining up their troops to drag their government takeover of health care across the finish line. This is no easy task considering how strongly the American people have objected. Even so, they are absolutely determined to jam this through with an iron fist regardless of the electoral consequences. Some of you may be | Read More »
GM Recalls & Health Care
So apparently GM is recalling 1.3 Million vehicles due to a problem with power steering. When the vehicles decelerate to a certain speed, power steering stops working. Given the difficulty to control a car without power steering, I would argue this is on par from a safety perspective with Toyota’s gas pedal/floor mat issue. I can’t help but notice a stark difference between the Beltway | Read More »
Democrat Killing Field – The Pelosi Delusion.
Calling for all ‘loyal’ party zealots to perform ritual seppuku on the Capitol steps, the House Madam has thrown down the gauntlet and stated unequivocally that we shall have a bill! Obama will have the ‘final’ version tweaked this week with a transparent veneer of some Republican ideas of no substance or consequence…the classic leftist window dressing. Pelosi attempted on Sunday, in an ABC interview | Read More »
‘Nobody… knows… the bill that we’ll see…’
Fox News (Via Hot Air): President Obama will soon propose a health care bill that will be “much smaller” than the House bill but “big enough” to put the country on a “path” toward health care reform, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Monday. “In a matter of days, we will have a proposal,” Pelosi said, pointing to Obama’s forthcoming bill. “It will be a much | Read More »
If Obama is going to offer a new HCR bill, why should anyone vote to go nuclear?
As many people have pointed out, if Pelosi had the votes to pass the Senate bill then the vote would have already taken place. Another signal seems to be this talk of Obama offering some “smaller” bill. If Pelosi had the votes – or for that matter if she thought there was any chance that she would ever get the votes – then why would | Read More »
Resolved – A Petition For America
– RESOLVED – We, the Free Citizens of the United States, do hereby resolve that the currently elected government of the United States, comprised at this time of both the Executive Branch (Obama Administration) and the Legislative Branch (111th U.S. Congress), have knowingly and willfully violated their sworn oath, “…to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.” We the People have closely | Read More »
The Founders Vision Is Obama’s Nightmare
The Founders of our Nation had a vision of a country which would allow complete freedom to its people without the interference of government in their lives. A Nation of laws that would protect the people while hindering the government from using those laws as a means of taking the rights of the people without following a specified process that protects those rights. The Founders | Read More »
Health care reconciliation is an exercise in futility.
Ed Morrissey sums up his major counter-argument thusly to Andy McCarthy’s argument that progressive Democrats are ready to trade control of Congress in exchange for imposing health care rationing on the populace: Andy may be right that Democratic leadership has made the decision that political oblivion is an acceptable cost for a one-time remaking of America that Republicans will find difficult to reverse in the | Read More »
Health Care: “What is next after the Summit”?
Yesterday was a day full of political theater. The kabuki-like charades and all the “gotcha” comments spewed forth mainly from the Democrats was nothing short of disgusting. You see my American friends, Washington does not pass any legislation which will benefit you or me. They first check with their special interest groups or lobbyists to see who will pay them more for their vote. Did | Read More »
The Summit: Obama’s Deception
I watched most of the summit Thursday. Obvious points: 1) Obama wasn’t really looking for agreement. It was just an act. Else, why would he try to refute every single one of the Republican statements, no matter how sincere, and trivialize the statements of even the most senior R leaders? 2) The most egregious D statements he let pass without comment. 3) He wound up | Read More »
The One Page Health Care Bill
The problems are: 1) We have people without health insurance who are afraid they cannot get care. 2) Doctors get less and less reimbursement from Medicare/Medicaid every year and shouldn’t have to lose money taking care of patients. 3) Medicare/Medicaid run out of money 4) The current proposed bill sucks. Here is a start (it fits on one page): Anyone eligible for Medicare/Medicaid or uninsured | Read More »
Democrats Filibuster the Listening Session
Barack Obama said it would be a listening session for him, but the entire time leading up to it, Obama and the Democrats already plotted to ignore the Republicans.CNN now has data showing just what a grand kabuki dance of non-listening the alleged summit was. Democrats dominated the talk. Of course, Captain Bullcrap said the time limits did not apply to him, just to his | Read More »
Congressional Democrats still wondering who the sucker was at yesterday’s summit.
When Hot Air and the Daily Beast are giving the same review – Republicans looked good, the President looked all right, other Democrats looked bad – you have to end up wondering whether the President actually minds. Jonah Goldberg fairly accurately sums up what Obama has to work with, after all: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi relied on the Democrats’ favorite rhetorical gambit: policy-by-anecdote. Invoking the | Read More »
The Sham Wow Summit
There are many reasons the Republican Party is often referred to as the Stupid Party. Many Republicans thought that after the President overshadowed the GOP at their Baltimore retreat last month, going to Blair House yesterday would just be another PR disaster. It was anything but.The GOP won the day so convincingly that even the traditional media had to praise the party for talking issues.Contrast that | Read More »
