Politico Fires a Shot Across Obama’s Bow with ‘Egotistical, Selfish, Dull’ Headline

Under the improbable headline “Media: Obama is egotistical, selfish, dull,” Politico‘s Dylan Byers noted Monday that over the Labor Day weekend, “major media outlets…lobb[ed] five high-profile bombs at the incumbent.” The article itself isn’t as noteworthy as the title, which is particularly eye-catching from a political publication whose left-leaning orientation is well known. The examples Byers points to come from the New York Times, the Washington Post, HuffPo, the Wall Street Journal, and his own Politico. Let’s take a quick look at them – and at the laugher that a senior campaign official offered in response.

    Anti-Obamacare = Pro-Slavery?

Scaling new heights of moonbattery , Huffington Post columnist Manisha Sinha posits that arguments against Obamacare and other Federal intrusions on states’ rights have their roots in the pro-slavery movement, ca. 1840-60: Long before Tea Party activists and other sundry conservatives detected the ghost of socialism in health care reform and financial regulation legislation, proslavery theorists argued that abolition was akin to socialism. Breaking: Kos hates us.

A friend forwarded a link to Markos Moulitsas HuffPo article today, and asked what I thought. I read the article, and when I stopped laughing, I responded: He paints all conservatives with the same broad brush. He doesn’t qualify his assertions, and he makes statistical leaps which in any other context, even you would scoff at. He conjures up half truths to make a point, | Read More »

    HuffPo: ‘Global Warming Causes Volcanoes’

Huffington Post blogger DK Matai’s bio claims him to be “an engineer turned entrepreneur, investor and philanthropist with a keen interest in the well being of global society”. If this guy is an engineer, then I’m Lady Gaga. Did you ever notice that these warming alarmists have a habit of just making stuff up? In a weekend post titled Are Global Warming, Volcanoes and Earthquakes | Read More »

    There must be consequences

Knew this would happen eventually, somehow I hoped not… Back in February, a little over a month in office, Obama lifted the restrictions on the press using dead soldier’s pictures; I was pissed. Then, as now, I apologize for any bad language that may escape me. Michelle Malkin today posted this (via Blackfive), and now I am beyond words. And the predictable Huffington Post, ever | Read More »

Jason Linkins Encounters The Hazards Of Blogging A Subject You Do Not Understand

I don’t know whether Jason Linkins at the Huffington Post is a lawyer, but from this post I have to assume not – and that he really should have talked to a lawyer before publishing it. The main thrust of Linkins’ post is his argument that Justice Scalia in his 2002 opinion in Republican Party of Minnesota v. White somehow endorsed the notion that it’s | Read More »

    On Not Letting Up

For conservatives and Republicans tempted to follow Fred Barnes and lay low a while, just notice what sites like the Huffington Post are up to these days: the #1 topic over at HuffPo right now, by the frequency of tags used, is “Sarah Palin”: The Left will not let up its assault on Gov. Palin for any “honeymoon” period. We on the Right will indeed | Read More »
