National Worker ID System
The congressional staff studying the problem of illegal immigrants obtaining jobs here in this country has devised a plan which would require all American workers to obtain a Worker Identification Card. This would be a biometric card capable of holding pertinent personal information about the worker to make it easier for prospective employers to ascertain whether the individual is legal, or illegal. The present system | Read More »
The GOP’s Demographic Challenge (Part I): Amnesty
If I’m any indication, Barack Obama and the current Democratic leadership could be God’s greatest gift to the Republican Party. I’m probably about as demographically “blue” as one can get: young(-ish!), African-American, Jewish, coastal big city, public interest lawyer, product of liberal elite education, former Obama Kool-Aid drinker, etc., and yet, in all likelihood I’ll be voting Republican this fall, and I recently sent my | Read More »
Ohio Governor Strickland: incompetent or corrupt?
The scandals just keep coming from the Strickland administration: A state investigation of an alleged scheme to cover up the use of illegal immigrants to remodel a state-leased office building is now in the hands of the Franklin County prosecutor’s office. But state troopers say they had to stand their ground to ensure the case reached the prosecutor. Former State Highway Patrol Lt. Col. William | Read More »
Remember, Remember, the Month of December
December 2009 was an historic month for the future direction of America: Despite very heated Congressional debate—and a vocal public outcry against it in the form of Tea Parties—the Democrats managed to advance their ”transformative” Health Care Reform plan one step closer to reality. In order to get the necessary votes to end debate in the Senate—and to get the Senate version passed—Reid and the Dems | Read More »
They’re Baaack! Here Comes the Debate on Illegals

Minuteman founder Chris Simcox is running for Senate in Arizona, providing voters with an opportunity to select a candidate who opposes providing amnesty to illegal immigrants and has made a personal sacrifice to protect our border. Illegal Immigrant Detentions To Be Scaled Back To Just The Violent And Threatening
Homeland Security Secretary, Janet Napolitano, will announce later this week that, in order to cut back on the cost of incarceration of illegal aliens in America’s jails, the 40%, which are nonviolent, will be placed in cheaper hotels and nursing homes instead. This comes on the heels of a new reclassification of illegals according to the threats they pose or the crimes that they have | Read More »

‘Mayor quits job for gay illegal immigrant he loves.’
As God is my witness, that’s the title of the article (Via The Sundries Shack, via RS McCain). After you’re done laughing, though, note why he quit before taking the oath of office: “[Former Mayor] Lown told the Standard-Times he chose not to take the oath of office while “aiding and assisting” a person who was illegally in the country.” That’s why he’s currently in | Read More »
A Tragedy That Needs To Be Politicized
Sometimes, despite the best of our intentions, the worst truly happens. Unacceptable and inexcusable evil strikes the innocent down dead. It does so for no reason, and it does so for nobody’s benefit. Evil, simply just is.
Other times, the worst of consequences should and could have been prevented. Huntsville, Alabama teenagers Leigh Anna Jimmerson and Tad Mattle appear to have been stricken down by just such an act of unconscionable non-random malice. They were rear-ended by a drunken driver Friday night and killed. The drunken driver was obviously in our country illegally.

Have we turned the corner on illegal immigration?
One of the hot buttons of the Bush presidency and the 2008 presidential campaign was illegal immigration and how to slow or stop it. Bush’s plan was decried as amnesty, and many conservatives have excoriated McCain over his softness on illegal immigration. Some interesting developments have occurred in this area over the last several months: “Self-deportations” have begun to take place as individual states have | Read More »
