Mia Love (R CAND, UT-04) targeted with vicious racist hate mail.

Come, let me reveal a deep, dark secret of the Mia Love campaign: she’s black. Did you care? Can’t say that I care much, either: what I care about is whether she has the resources and ability to defeat Jim Matheson in this year’s UT-04 Congressional race. The possibility is tantalizingly there: and apparently it’s worrying Utahn Democrats. Which is fine… except when Utahn Democrats | Read More »

Mia Love’s (R CAND, UT-04) Saturday convention speech.

Below is the speech that Mia Love made Saturday, prior to winning the Republican nomination for UT-04 with 70% of the delegate vote. It’s pretty affirmative stuff: it highlights Mia’s life experience as the daughter of immigrants, affirms her American and Utahn values… and rips into Jim Matheson for his refusal to stand up for either, when in the clutch. Well worth watching.

One talking point that seems to be a favorite of his lately is how, if the GOP does take back Congress, the nebulous forces of “special interests” will once again be in the driver’s seat in Washington. “[Republicans] can ride with | Read More »

    Today in Washington – September 14, 2010

Tax cuts are the talk today in Washington.  The elites in Washington want to promise some sort of tax relief to voters, because they are scared that ObamaCare, the Stimulus and other attempts to expand the federal government have angered the voters.  These promised tax cuts may be too little – too late for many incumbents. The Senate will vote today on an amendment from Senator Mike Johanns (R-NE) to | Read More »

Media Matters ADMITS Barack Obama Has Bribed Congressman Jim Matheson

Media Matters, doing its typical shilling for the Obama Administration, threw up some lame talking points about Barack Obama appointing Scott Matheson, brother of Congressman Jim Matheson, to the federal bench. The right has pointed out it has the appearance of bribery. Today, trying to refute the accusation, Media Matters gives away the game. Casually in defending the appointment, Media Matters notes Scott Matheson told | Read More »
