Obama: “If you love me, pass this bill!”
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | September 14th at 02:22 PM |
Yes, he is trying to revive the Cult of Personality and make it all about himself. Seriously. He went there. The President tells a crowd he loves them and if they love him they will help him pass his bill. 51% of Americans do not think the President’s jobs plan will create jobs. The voters of New York just rejected Obama in NY-09. Let’s not | Read More »
Majority Think Jobs Plan is Crap: Weak and Indecisive and Now Even More Dead on Arrival
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | September 14th at 08:38 AM |
Mark Hemingway points out just how fast the White House caves these days. Yesterday morning, David Axelrod went on television and declared the GOP must pass the President’s jobs plan totally. All or nothing or something like that. By early mid-day, the White House began signaling it’d cut a deal with the GOP. By last night David Weprin got annihilated in NY-09. This morning, Bloomberg | Read More »
Barack Obama tries the same failed tactic on ‘stimulus.’
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | September 12th at 06:30 PM |
Let me just simplify this for the President’s tired and rather sad proposal on how to pay for his tired and rather sad ‘jobs’ bill: President Barack Obama would pay for his $447 billion jobs plan by ending a series of tax breaks for oil and gas companies, hedge-fund managers and people making more than $200,000, the White House said Monday. In total, Mr. Obama’s | Read More »
Where’s the new [stimulus] bill Mr. Obama?
By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | September 10th at 11:30 AM |
After promising time and time again to focus on jobs. After promising time and time again to pivot to jobs. After promising time and time again to give a jobs plan speech right after his Martha’s Vineyard vacations. After promising new fresh proposals, not a rehash of plans he has pitched previously. After demanding time and time again before a joint session that Congress pass | Read More »

Obama’s ‘pass this [stimulus] bill’ speech
By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | September 9th at 07:30 PM |
Unfortunately, except for the price tag, President Obama’s big jobs stimulus speech was nothing new and all too familiar and repetitive. It really was that repetitive. Obama used some version of “pass this bill” — 17 times in his stimulus speech.
The President Moves on to Jobs

Last Night, President Obama Sowed the Seeds of His Own Destruction
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | September 9th at 04:45 AM |
Consider, objectively, some of the points of Barack Obama’s plan. He wants to extend unemployment benefits again. He wants to extend a payroll tax holiday. He wants to give tax credits to small businesses to hire people. He wants more government pork for more roads and bridges. These are all things Republicans have gone along with in the past. These are all things Republicans will | Read More »
Obama’s Fuzzy Stimulus Math
By: Daniel Horowitz (Diary) | September 8th at 08:50 PM |
Let’s forget the fact that Obama’s entire Stimulus 10.0 is a counterintuitive proposal that doubles down on the very failures that precipitated this speech. Let’s also disregard the fact that enshrining unemployment insurance as a permanent handout will perpetuate unemployment. And more union-induced, short-term money drops on infrastructure will do nothing but stimulate traffic jams. Let’s focus purely on the very numbers that the administration | Read More »

The Obligatory Word Cloud For Tired Old Rhetoric
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | September 8th at 07:14 PM |
This speech sounds pretty much exactly like all his other failed speeches. Pretty much every job he talks about, just like in 2009, 2010, and 2011 are government jobs or jobs dependent on government. The purpose of the American Jobs Act is simple: to put more people back to work and more money in the pockets of those who are working. It will create more | Read More »
All You Need To Know About the President’s Speech
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | September 8th at 06:50 PM |
(1) The President will take Richard Trumka of the AFL-CIO with him to Congress tonight. Trumka’s union saw 500 of its members storm a business last night, take hostages, and destroy property. The President will also take Jeffrey Immelt of GE with him. General Electric is a prime example of a business that has profited lately not through the free market, but through the government | Read More »
Reid schedules votes before and after Obama speech to force GOP attendance
By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | September 8th at 06:37 PM |
President Obama will address a Joint Session of Congress tonight to present his new jobs reelection stimulus plan, which is all too similar to the Obmacrats 2009 failed stimulus plan. A number of members of Congress let it be known that they did not intend to show up for Obama’s presentation. Concerned that empty seats would ruin the optics for the Obama reelection campaign videos, | Read More »
From civility to ‘barbarians’ and ‘SOBs’ and the Reverend Wright ‘I didn’t hear it’ defense
By: Dan Spencer (Diary) | September 6th at 05:31 PM |
President Obama, on yet another taxpayer-funded reelection campaign junket — this one billed as a preview of his upcoming big jobs speech, called for a bipartisan response to his latest plan amidst extreme partisan rhetoric. Before Obama took to the podium, Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa set the tone with profane, violent and partisan rhetoric: We got to keep an eye on the battle that we | Read More »
Job Creation vs. Career Politician: The Romney Path to Victory
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | September 6th at 09:42 AM |
“Romney has the money and manpower to walk this tight rope carefully. If he pulls it off, he is going to be a far better general election candidate than even Romney supporters can imagine.” I have written that I thought the better attack for Mitt Romney would be to go after Rick Perry for being a career politician rather than try to discredit, as the | Read More »
Illegal Aliens Receive $4.2 Billion in Additional Child Tax Credits
By: Daniel Horowitz (Diary) | September 2nd at 01:49 PM |
Throughout the entire debt ceiling imbroglio, Democrats incessantly regurgitated the talking point about the need for “a balanced approach.” They were so uniform and synchronized that they sounded like the sheep in Animal Farm. Ironically, their idea of a balanced approach was singularly focused upon Oil Company and corporate tax deductions, which are negligible compared to the crushing debt. The targeted oil tax deductions would | Read More »
