US Sen. Lindsey Graham censured by SC county GOP
I’d really like to see more of this! Republicans who work against their party’s or constituents wishes should face a very public penalty. Though I doubt that Lindsey Graham will take this to heart right away, I hope it comes back to bite him in the butt come election time. Nice job Charleston County South Carolina GOP!
DeMint endorses DeVore, Fiorina panics
We won the big statewide races yesterday, and now it’s back to work trying to win some more. The California Senate primary may not be until June, but when we’re faced with an entrenched incumbent like Barbara Boxer, we need all the lead time we can get. Up until now, the DC types have all been supporting Carly Fiorina in our primary, even though she | Read More »
The Seduction Of Lindsey Graham
According to most conservatives in South Carolina, Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) has officially gone over to the dark side. Under the guise of ‘bipartisanship,’ Graham has signed on to one of the left’s most ambitious plans to impose a socialist agenda in America – government control of the formerly free market through implementation of cap-and trade, the 1,400 plus page Waxman-Markey bill approved earlier this | Read More »
Dear Senator [fill in blank] : Are you a crook, an idiot, or did you vote against Obamacare?
It’s really that simple. Obamacare has already been rejected by America. It is manifestly outside the legitimate purview of the government in a free country. It is fiscally irresponsible on an epic level. The “bill” being passed around in the Senate is a blank slate to be signed at the bottom, with the details to be filled out later by Democrats, likely by people whose | Read More »
Sotomayor Sessions Un-Hatch Hatch [updated]
For the first time ever, GOP Judiciary Committee veteran will vote against a Supreme Court nominee South Carolina’s Lindsey Graham is now the leader of a, thankfully smaller, Republican group of Senators equating the consequences of presidential elections with repeal of advise and consent clause and fealty to Oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution. When Justice David Souter announced his retirement in May, this column | Read More »
Graham must defer to Constitution, not Sotomayor’s causes
Yes Lindsey, elections have consequences, including those of U.S. Senators and not just Presidents. And shouldn’t the ratification of the U.S. Constitution, its amendments and the Oath to uphold it have consequences too? [This is part three of DeVine Law series during Sotomayor nomination hearings. Parts one, two and columns prior to the hearings are here.] I speak, of course, of Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) | Read More »
The “Pretend you’re a Liberal MSM reporter (and looking to spin a story)” Challenge/Experiment
[with Aug.2009 Update] Or, Spinning a story and getting Conservatives/Republicans to fight amongst themselves and ignore the “ObamAgenda – So, What does Obama NOT want you paying attention to?” and trumping up the “How Obama’s FAILURES are the country’s SUCCESSES – since we have to spell it out” to be something ‘other’ than what it really is! h/t to Flagstaff and Moe’s Diary Lindsey Graham | Read More »

Lindsey Graham wounded by Sotomayor’s hurtful remarks.
Senator Lindsey Graham goes there: Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., told “FOX News Sunday” he wasn’t buying President Obama’s attempt to walk back his Supreme Court nominee’s controversial statement from 2001. Obama said Friday that given the chance Sotomayor would have “restated” that comment, and that she was merely trying to express how her experiences give her perspective on others’ hardships. “She didn’t say that at | Read More »
So-Called Conservatives Parody of Former Self
Image via Wikipedia A conservative once wrote: A substantial portion of the conservative movement has become a parody of its former self. Once home to distinguished intellectuals and men of letters, it now tolerates and even encourages anti-intellectualism and jingoism that would have embarrassed earlier generations of conservative thinkers. There are still some good and decent conservative leaders to be found, and a portion of | Read More »
SC pols fight over republican brand (Sanford vs. Graham)
My apologies if this has already been posted. In the first video below, Lindsey Graham is seen giving a speech at the SC Republican Convention. In the speech, he has this to say: “I am not a libertarian. If you are, you’re welcome to vote for me and help this party, but we’re not going to build this party around libertarian ideals.” That is an | Read More »
McCain/Graham Are Right on THIS one, Anyway!
After several years of missteps and dunderheaded RINOist policy proscriptions, Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham got one right for a change. The unctuous pair published an Op Ed in the Wall Street Journal on May 6 that is spot on in its analysis of the dangerous road down which Barack Obama and the Democrats are taking us as far as the war on terror | Read More »
Someone find out what Lindsey Graham had to drink today.
Whatever it was, I wish to send around a bottle of it to all of our other Senators. (Via RCP; see also Hot Air). Anyway, Reid just called it for the night, so we’ll get to enjoy this train wreck in action for at least another morning. By the way: the people who will be telling you that this new CBS poll still shows a | Read More »
“Scaring people is not leadership.”
Marvel at the day: here is Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) beating President Barack Obama (D) with a club that I didn’t even know he had any more. As Allahpundit notes, there’s something weird about seeing Graham and Michelle Malkin using the same language. And me, come to think of it: the President is fear-mongering. I wonder why? “If this is bipartisanship, count me out.” No, | Read More »
Pelosi Promises Pork-Laden Stimulus to Pennsylvania Ave. by Presidents’ Day
According to Roll Call:Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Sunday said everything will take a back seat to fixing the economy during the first 100 days of the Obama administration and that Congress would complete a massive economic recovery package by the Presidents Day recess in mid-February.(Translation: Everything will take a back seat to ramming $800 billion in new spending through the Congress as quickly as possible.) | Read More »
Fred Thompson backs Lindsey Graham
Regular readers know I was on the Fred Thompson train from long before his exploratory committee came out. I was behind him when the chances seemed slim that he would enter the race. I was behind him when he led the national polls. I was behind him when his campaign stalled and collapsed. I was behind him when he formed a Political Action Committee to | Read More »
