How did the party let itself get hijacked by abortion warriors?
By: Neil Stevens (Diary) | August 27th at 01:00 PM |
Hold your fire. Did you think I was talking about Republicans? Oh, no. I’m talking about the Democrats. That party has been hijacked by the radical feminist fringe. In a way that mimics the imagined trend of the Tea party, the feminists are pushing losing candidates on the Democrats, and forcing them to pick up losing issues in the elections.
This goes from Barack Obama on down. In a jobs election, he’s talking abortion.

California Republican Assembly endorses Chuck DeVore
By: Neil Stevens (Diary) | March 7th at 10:53 PM |
The California Republican Assembly, a 75 year old conservative group in this state, endorsed Chuck DeVore for Senate today with over 75% support on the first ballot. “CRA must keep working and producing solid conservative candidates for office at all levels of government, and I hope that my fellow Californians will join the CRA team and get involved with a local chapter.” Ronald Reagan said | Read More »

Empty Phone Banks for Martha’s Empty Campaign
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | January 18th at 11:29 AM |
It is snowing in Boston today. The Massachusetts Teachers Association is, notwithstanding the snow and holiday, doing what it can to get Martha Coakley elected. They are running phone banks today to help out. There’s just one problem. The phones are there and ready to go, but no one showed up to make calls. Would you want to get out in the snow to make | Read More »
The Political Elite Collectively Hold their Breath Until Tuesday Night
By: Dan Perrin (Diary) | January 18th at 06:17 AM |
When the lead paragraph in a story in the Boston Globe — owned by the New York Times — from a story titled “Obama here for Coakley, trailing a diminished aura,” reads: “The feverish excitement that propelled Barack Obama and scores of other Democrats to victory in 2008 has all but evaporated, worrying party leaders who are struggling to invigorate the base before Tuesday’s Massachusetts | Read More »

DailyKos Short Bus Riders Want to Send Martha Coakley and Me to Jail
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | January 17th at 08:56 AM |
The not so very bright readers of Kos want to send Martha Coakley and me to jail. Why us? Well, I published the list of union organized phone banks for Coakley on Friday night. Some genius who probably thinks Joe Stalin was just misunderstood now is convinced I must go to jail. WITH A POLL!!!! I assume s/he (that covers everything including transgendered I hope) | Read More »
Martha Coakley and the anti-American agenda.
By: Ken Blackwell (Diary) | January 16th at 04:36 PM |
If you read no further, support Scott Brown. In 1804, Thomas Jefferson wrote to Abigail Adams on the free exercise of individual conscience in America, and its indispensability to our freedoms. We may disagree, wrote the Founder, but that disagreement is to be welcomed, not crushed: “I tolerate with utmost latitude the right of others to differ with me in opinion without imputing to them | Read More »
Scott Brown Goes To 11
By: Dan McLaughlin (Diary) | January 15th at 08:19 PM |
Too good to check: Jim Geraghty hears that Scott Brown’s campaign has internal polls showing him up 11 points: I’m getting the sense that the folks hearing this are almost a little incredulous, but it seems every demographic and key group is breaking to Brown in the past day or two. Geraghty also notes conflicting reports that Martha Coakley‘s internal polls show her either even | Read More »
My Working Theory on Brown v. Coakley: Democrats Want Brown to Win
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | January 15th at 11:00 AM |
Clayton (you guys remember him, right?) suggested this and I think he is right. My working theory of the Massachusetts race is that a lot of Democrats desperately want Scott Brown to win. From Blanche Lincoln to Ben Nelson to Evan Bayh, they are privately praying Scott Brown cleans Martha Coakley‘s clock. Now they won’t admit it in public, but they know if Brown wins, | Read More »
Martha Coakley: Terrible Prosecutor
By: Dan McLaughlin (Diary) | January 14th at 04:53 PM |
It’s worth recalling, as the Massachusetts Senate election approaches, that Martha Coakley is not just some bland Democratic machine apparatchik. She’s a bland Democratic machine apparatchik with a long record as a prosecutor that includes some very ugly things. Exhibit A is the notorious case, familiar to readers of the Wall Street Journal over the past three decades, of Gerald Amirault. The case, discussed in | Read More »
Martha Coakley Disses Fenway Park, Shaking Hands With Bostonians. No, Really.
By: Dan McLaughlin (Diary) | January 14th at 12:15 PM |
Given the serial fiascoes of the Martha Coakley for Senate campaign – veering from gaffe (her claim that there are no terrorists in Afghanistan) to comedy (misspelling her own state’s name in an attack ad) to ham-handedness (a staffer barrelling over a Weekly Standard reporter trying to ask about the Afghanistan gaffe) to outright panic in her communications with national Democrats, who are now tapping | Read More »
Who Exactly Is Bought And Paid For By Washington?
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | January 14th at 08:54 AM |
Check out this video. Martha Coakley is attacking Scott Brown as being bought and paid for by Washington Republicans including George Bush, who does not live there. Meanwhile, half the health care industry showed up at a Martha Coakley fundraiser in Washington to buy her. “I hope they all use lobbyists to raise money,” said one. Well, the only one who is for sure is | Read More »
Meehan ADMITS He Shoved McCormack
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | January 13th at 04:22 PM |
Well well. After the media carrying Martha Coakley‘s water for an entire day, claiming that report John McCormack tripped instead of, as McCormack claimed, being shoved to the grown by Coakley aide Michael Meehan, Meehan has now issued an apology for shoving McCormack. Yet again we have the bulk of the mainstream media carrying a Democrat’s water and buying wholesale their spin. Will the AP | Read More »
Coakley can’t even remember her position on *abortion* these days.
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | January 13th at 09:30 AM |
Bill Jacobson points out a minor detail with Big Pharma shill Martha Coakley trying to spin Scott Brown’s past support of permitting medical personnel to have a religious objection to the morning-after pill into being anti-rape victim: she’s on the record as supporting far more. first, Legal Insurrection: Here is the language in section 1302(a)(3) of the bill (at page 125) passed by the Senate | Read More »
I declare DOOM for Martha Coakley (D, MA-SEN).
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | January 12th at 08:00 PM |
I’ve been fighting the urge: it’s Massachusetts. But let’s review the evidence. The latest Rasmussen poll: 49/47 Coakley/Brown. That’s +2 Coakley for likely voters. Definite ones? +1 Brown. The total shift is +7 Brown in a week. Internal Democratic polling (via AoSHQ) is saying Coakley +5. Last week? Coakley +14. +9 shift to Brown, in other words. They’re not just paying union members to hold | Read More »
Red Tide Rising!
By: Aaron Gardner (Diary) | January 9th at 08:21 PM |
“Toss up in Massachusetts” ,That is the headline over at PPP. The truth is, it should read Brown LEADS!! Buoyed by a huge advantage with independents and relative disinterest from Democratic voters in the state, Republican Scott Brown leads Martha Coakley 48-47. And that’s not even the best quote. We lead enthusiasm 66% to 48%, we lead the indie vote 63%-31%* with Scott Brown claiming | Read More »
