By: Brad Jackson (Diary)  |  May 30th at 10:13 AM  |

Accuracy is important, especially when the target is huge

By: John Hayward  |  March 21st at 11:48 AM  |

In her speech to the Conservative Political Action Conference last week, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN), a onetime presidential candidate, said this: A new book is out talking about the perks and the excess of the $1.4-billion-a-year presidency that we’re paying for. And this is a lifestyle that is one of excess. Now we find out that there are five chefs on Air Force One. There | Read More »

@TheOnion: using dead Sikhs as political props.

By: Moe Lane (Diary)  |  August 7th at 09:00 AM  |

Short version: Twitchy caught the typically unhinged Online Leftist reaction to the Onion’s… smear? No, they’ll claim that it’s a parody. Parody smear, I guess… article where they (falsely) had Michele Bachmann say that she was thankful that no “Americans” were killed in Sunday’s Oak Creek shooting. Now, I know, I know: comedy is edgy, it’s not the Onion’s fault that the Left side of | Read More »

127 Congressmen Sign Letter Pledging to Defund Obamacare

By: Daniel Horowitz (Diary)  |  July 18th at 08:07 PM  |

Since the Supreme Court ignored the Constitution by upholding Obamacare, we have no choice but to use every legislative and executive tool at our disposal to kill this socialist monstrosity.  One opportunity we will have to disrupt and impede its implementation will be through the appropriations process. Last December, we incurred the ‘great spending betrayal’ under Republican leadership in the House. Sixty percent of House | Read More »

The Democratic Party Continues Alabama’s History of Bigotry And Intolerance

    By: Repair_Man_Jack (Diary)  |  March 8th at 11:00 AM  |

Segregation now, segregation tomorrow and segregation forever! – Alabama Governor George C. Wallace’s First Inaugural Address(HT: Brainyquote.com) Governor George C. Wallace became known as one of the most intolerant men ever in American History when he gave his infamous Schoolhouse Door Speech in which he pledged to block the schoolhouse door to prevent two black students from enrolling at The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. The Conservative Race In Iowa

By: Dan McLaughlin (Diary)  |  January 2nd at 05:27 PM  |

There are 2,286 delegates awarded in the GOP primaries and caucuses; the nomination thus requires wrapping up 1,143 delegates. Between them, Iowa and New Hampshire award 10 delegates; South Carolina and Florida, the other two states voting later this month, award 75. By contrast, three states (California, Texas and New York) award a combined 422 delegates, more than a third of the total needed to | Read More »

    The Candidates

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  December 20th at 04:47 AM  |

I will not be endorsing any time soon. I have made clear my reasons here. I am, however, continually surprised that anyone in the GOP thinks Mitt Romney is a really viable candidate. Should he be the nominee, the American public will be treated to interviews and commercials with every person ever fired or laid off because of Bain Capital, an organization from which MItt | Read More »

    Perry & Bachmann in Iowa

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  December 16th at 04:46 AM  |

They had to do well in Iowa and they did. Mitt Romney had a better debate performance than this past Saturday. The software upgrade must have worked. Newt Gingrich held his own. But Michele Bachmann got to Newt. She got the better of him on the issue of Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae and he treated her so dismissively on the issue of abortion I | Read More »

No, Ron Paul is not a threat to win the Iowa Caucuses

By: Neil Stevens (Diary)  |  December 13th at 05:00 PM  |

It doesn’t matter what you think the new Public Policy Polling result says. It doesn’t matter how many gleeful Democrats are writing up news stories claiming it’s true. It’s not. Ron Paul, King of Earmarks, Full Metal Truther, and Archbishop of the anti-American Gnostic Constitutionalists, is not going to win the Iowa caucuses or even get close for one simple reason. He wins people who | Read More »

    Gingrich: Is his rise sustainable?

By: Neil Stevens (Diary)  |  December 8th at 05:30 PM  |

Candidates for office aren’t always well known at first. This difference in name recognition can distort early polling, which is why in this Republican Presidential primary race I keep watching approval ratings for clues. So my personal find today of Gallup’s Positive Intensity Score tracker I think is worth a look, especially as we consider whether Newt Gingrich’s lead is here to stay.

Obama Says It is Good to be in Texas While in Kansas

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  December 6th at 03:58 PM  |

Were it Rick Perry or Michele Bachmann, all we’d hear about for the next week is that they went to Kansas and said it was “Good to be back in Texas.” Except it wasn’t Perry or Bachmann. It was Barack Obama not using the teleprompter. Like the 57 states. Except Barack Obama is a genius.

Five Things You Need To Know About New Hampshire

By: Michael Hammond (Diary)  |  November 29th at 05:11 PM  |

I was the sole general chairman of the New Hampshire campaign of Pat Buchanan in the winter of 1995-6. I was alone because my co-chairman, faced with unmoving single-digit poll numbers, had fled for the Dole campaign. I remember Pat’s consternation about our seemingly stagnant poll numbers.  And yet, when New Hampshire voters began focusing on the election, those polls became meaningless.  Just a few | Read More »

The Bachmann-Santorum Rule: We Can Be Extorted

By: Erick Erickson (Diary)  |  November 14th at 04:47 AM  |

There was one moment in the CBS News debate that has not gotten a lot of attention and should get a great deal of attention. CBS News asked Rick Perry about Pakistan. “Flavor of the month” is not serious analysis

By: Neil Stevens (Diary)  |  November 8th at 06:00 PM  |

Conservative activists have this nasty habit of denigrating our own politicians, and in fact the very practice of running for office to represent our side. We kick our guys (and girls) at every opportunity, sometimes for no reason but to kick politicians. It’s in that vein that some have taken to referring to one Presidential candidate or another as the ‘flavor of the month,’ suggesting | Read More »
