Got cancer – and millions of dollars? Nancy Pelosi can help!
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | August 30th at 01:00 PM |
Let me summarize this Dallas Morning News article about Lisa Blue: if your husband (Fred Baron) is a millionaire and multimillion-dollar Democratic Party fundraiser – John Edwards’ bagman, in fact – and also dying of bone marrow cancer, then you can not only get away with smuggling into the country experimental cancer medicine of dubious efficacy; you can get the Speaker of the House herself | Read More »
The Nancy Pelosi Tinfoil Hat Cat Video open thread.
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | August 18th at 11:00 AM |
Erick has already covered the story of how Nancy Pelosi has Embraced The Crazy by claiming that the Right is sending people over to her local events to ask questions about the Ground Zero Mosque… but I could not resist putting those comments in, as they say, context. Look on the bright side: Embrace The Crazy is only Stage Two of Conspiracy Theory Thinking. She | Read More »
Nancy Pelosi Joins the Fringe Mosquerade
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | August 17th at 11:34 PM |
Ladies and gentlemen, we have come through the looking glass. Tonight on KCBS radio in San Francisco, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi began calls for investigations into opponents of the Ground Zero mosque. Aligning herself with the fringe — a group of people no larger than those who think 9/11 was an inside job and those who think Barack Obama is a foreign born | Read More »
Nancy Pelosi Wishes Everyone Well But Americans
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | August 11th at 10:06 PM |
Here is Nancy Pelosi’s twitter feed. Today she wished Muslims celebrating Ramadan “joy, wisdom, and countless blessings.” On August 3rd, she wished the Sing Tao newspaper a happy 35th birthday. On July 6th Nancy Pelosi wished the Dalai Lama a happy 75th birthday. On July 4th the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives . . . oh, you’ve figured it out. Nancy Pelosi | Read More »
On Missouri and the rejection of the PPACA
By: Neil Stevens (Diary) | August 4th at 10:00 PM |
From Unlikely Voter: When I heard yesterday that Missouri passed an initiative attacking the PPACA in state, and declaring that Missouri’s citizens are exempt from portions of it, I thought it would be interesting to compare that Proposition C’s results with polling on the issue in state. So let’s check.
The Bizarro World of San Fran Nan and the House Dems
By: Steve Maley (Diary) | July 29th at 08:00 AM |
As Friday’s House recess deadline looms, the CLEAR Act is rushing toward a floor vote. The CLEAR Act was supposed to fix whatever went wrong with Federal oversight of the Deepwater Horizon. One provision of the bill, offered by Rep. Bill Cassidy (R-LA), would have set up a Congressional commission of petroleum engineering experts to investigate the accident. This proposal was accepted unanimously in committee | Read More »
Does Georgia Right to Life Now Support Embryonic Stem Cell Research?
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | July 26th at 05:00 AM |
I am guessing Dan Becker and Georgia Right to Life are just fine and dandy with embryonic stem cell research. They don’t like Karen Handel funding cervical cancer screenings, but they love them some Nathan Deal despite his support for a Henry Waxman backed piece of legislation funneling $500 million to the abortion industry explicitly for abortions. Well, Nathan Deal also signed on to NANCY | Read More »

By: James Richardson (Diary) | July 22nd at 05:51 PM |
A House ethics committee has launched an investigation into New York Democratic Rep. Charlie Rangel for undisclosed ethics violations, the Associated Press reported Thursday. Rangel, who resigned from his chairmanship of the House Ways and Means Committee in March following a formal admonishment for two corporately-underwritten Caribbean junkets, will appear next week before a subcommittee of the House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct. Thank you President Obama. We couldn’t have done it without you. The Conservative movement is back and strong as ever. Liberals and Progressives are in tears. Keep up the good work, Mr. President. More on this issue below the fold. The House will vote on H.R. 1722, the Telework Improvements Act, and 6 suspension bills. The Senate is scheduled to continue work on H.R. 5297, TARP, Jr., and | Read More »
President Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Alvin Greene: The Three Economic Stooges
By: Lori Ziganto (Diary) | July 8th at 09:38 PM |
Evidently, not only are Democrats not creating or saving jobs, but it appears as if they are in cahoots to put The Onion out of business. You see, it is impossible to satirize people who are self-parodies themselves. The latest example is Alvin Greene, the current Democrat candidate for Senator in South Carolina, who recently announced in an interview with The Guardian his plan to | Read More »
Democrats suppressing GOP visits to Gulf.
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | June 30th at 10:30 PM |
(Via Instapundit) It’s the little things that underscore the pettiness that’s infesting the Democratic party’s leadership these days: Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) wanted to fly 10 lawmakers down to the Gulf of Mexico to see the damage caused by BP’s gigantic oil spill first hand. House Democrats said no.

Although no votes are scheduled in the House and Senate today, there was breaking news early this morning in the negotiations in the Financial Services conference. CNN Money reports: After a grueling 20-hour session, lawmakers early Friday finished melding the House and Senate Wall Street reform bills, bringing Congress closer to passing the most sweeping changes to the financial system since the New Deal. A Tale of Budget Cowardice…and Courage
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | June 22nd at 11:00 AM |
“The U.S. House has never— NEVER —failed to pass a budget resolution since the current budget rules were put into place in 1974. Until today. ” So the Democrats have finally admitted they will not produce a budget plan this year. This is the ultimate in political cowardice. To understand how cowardly, one must understand what a budget plan really is. In short, a budget | Read More »
This Week in Washington – June 21, 2010
By: Brian Darling (Diary) | June 21st at 10:45 AM |
President Obama is losing political influence on Capitol Hill, because poll numbers indicate that the President is unpopular with the American voters. Gallup reports today that “U.S. registered voters remain split on whether President Obama deserves to be re-elected in 2012, with 46% saying he does and 51% saying he does not — little changed from earlier this year.” This is going to be a tough fall for | Read More »
Nancy Pelosi: Hey, quit your job. We got your back!
By: Tabitha Hale (Diary) | May 17th at 02:59 PM |
Nancy Pelosi spoke at the Asian American and Pacific Islanders Summit on Capitol Hill last Friday, informing them that because of the new health care reform, they would no longer be “job locked.” Here’s the quote: “We see it as an entrepreneurial bill,” Pelosi said, “a bill that says to someone, if you want to be creative and be a musician or whatever, you can | Read More »
