The Restoration of Democracy, A Historic Moment for Pakistan
Though Pakistan continues to face a number of challenges, in its struggle for democracy it is, perhaps, a lesson for other nascent democracies. By tabling a package of constitutional reforms that will repeal several aberrations adopted under dictatorships in the 1980s and 1990s, the democratic government of Pakistan has achieved a landmark in democracy and brought hope to people around the world.
Pakistan’s Economy Hurt By Attacks On Government
Attacks on Pakistan’s democratically elected government by opposition parties and a hostile judiciary are damaging the nation’s economy according to Moody’s Investor Services analyst Aninda Mitra. According to an interview Mr. Mitra gave to Reuters news service on Wednesday. “The government is constrained in its focus on long-term economic issues,” Aninda Mitra, Moody’s sovereign analyst for Pakistan, told Reuters in a telephone interview from Singapore. | Read More »

In January of this year, we came together to form a new organization, Americans for Democracy and Justice in Pakistan. Our mission is to educate the media, political leaders and the public about the importance of supporting democracy and democratic institutions in Pakistan. Pakistan is a country whose history is full of politically-motivated attacks against civilian rulers and outside influences that have destabilized the country, | Read More »

Fee, Fi, Fo, Fumble – Obama’s Nuclear Naïveté Could Spell Disaster.
Correction to article of Mon 12/21: I incorrectly stated that Americans were barred from travel in Pakistan in 1981. The State Department warned Americans that travel in Pakistan could be dangerous. Pakistan at that time was issuing 30 day visas. I have been unable to determine what national passport Barack Obama was traveling under, although it has been established that he was then living with | Read More »

Joe Biden, Your Source For Intelligence?
From The Political Commentator Houston, We Have A Problem! When Joe Biden becomes the administrations source for intelligent (intelligence) analysis, what does that say about the other players that are involved?
