These are the words of a man who should be (Vice) President

Last week Charles Krauthammer wrote a column that I consider one of his best in quite a while, titled “The case against re-election.” In it, he examined Obama’s failed programs and legislation and the potential campaign strategy for Mitt Romney. Krauthammer’s most important point focused on how important it is for Mitt Romney – and now Paul Ryan – to campaign against Obama on ideological | Read More »
The Second Coming of American Liberal Fascism?
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | April 25th at 04:46 AM |
During the Bush years, Bush was often compared to Hitler or Mussolini,. The focus of the attacks had to do with wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and angst over the supposed erosion of civil liberties due to warrantless wiretaps, among other things. There was a lot of hyperbole. Bush was a monkey, a Nazi, a Fascist, the devil’s spawn. The hyperbole became so hysterical some | Read More »

“Progress” Vs Thinking
By: Repair_Man_Jack (Diary) | December 14th at 12:30 PM |
Last night Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin was kind enough to thank the diarists at Redstate.com for supporting his unfortunately failed efforts to rise to greater power in the GOP Senate Caucus. He wrote an excellent diary that laid out the choices us as a nation face in 2012. He describes this as Obama’s Economy vs. the Path to Prosperity. The Obama Economy could also | Read More »

“The Corps of Engineers has completely and totally let us down,” Gary Grittner, a Fort Pierre resident, said. “We, the people of Fort Pierre and Pierre, are paying the price for incompetence on the part of the Corps of Engineers.” – Sioux City Journal Overall, court records reviewed by The Washington Times show at least 170 confirmed falsifications of interviews or record checks and more | Read More »
Wallis’ Progressive Call to Arms Misses [the] Mark
By: Lords86 (Diary) | March 3rd at 06:39 AM |
Promoted from the diaries by Bill S. Jim Wallis, the longtime leader of Sojourners, a Washington D.C. based ministry dedicated to articulating “the biblical call to social justice,” used the opportunity in a February 24, 2011 column, “This is Not Fiscal Conservatism. It’s Just Politics,” to take an errant shot at recent Congressional Republican budget proposals and Wisconsin governor, Scott Walker. Reverend Wallis, as you may recall, | Read More »
AFL-CIO Boss: Fox & ‘Confused’ Tea Partiers Deliver a ‘Cynical, Deeply Dishonest, and Incoherent Message.’
By: LaborUnionReport (Diary) | September 27th at 04:15 PM |
AFL-CIO Boss Richard Trumka, the same guy who pled the Fifth Amendment before Congress is doing all he can to carry the Democrats’ water for the mid-term elections, including (but not limited to) demonizing Tea Party activists. Last Friday, Trumka lobbed some rhetorical grenades at Tea Party activists using terms such as confused, cynical, deeply dishonest, and incoherent. Trumka and Working America Executive Director Karen | Read More »
Just days before Socialist Saturday, unions remind Americans of Obama roots
By: LaborUnionReport (Diary) | September 27th at 02:45 PM |
Aesop, meet Obama. Just days before Socialist Saturday (see #hashtags below), a series of union-related events are beginning to become large enough of an embarrassment to the Obama administration that they may be hard for the media to ignore any longer. With the abrupt departure of SEIU über-boss Andy Stern, the rejection (and subsequent departure) of his hand-chosen successor, Anna Burger, the President’s friends at | Read More »

Ezra Klein of the Washington Post Maligns Founding Fathers
By: Brian Darling (Diary) | September 3rd at 06:40 PM |
Do progressives believe in States’ Rights and the idea of Federalism? Not Ezra Klein of the Washington Post. During a discussion today about the Filibuster sponsored by the American Political Science Association, and shown on C-SPAN, Ezra Klein made a very radical assertion about the issue of States’ Rights and one that should worry conservatives who treasure the idea of federalism.
