The Sequester: Sturm Und Drang and Fecal Fertilizer
I hate to admit that I work for our pathetic, whiny, pussified excuse for a Federal Government. I am a Civil Servant, but I promise not to whine about how much I’ve had to pay for tampons over the looming Sequestration !CRISIS! You see, Sequestration stands poised to invade our galaxy. Run for the Hills! Flee, you fool. DOOM is at hand. The bloodied Sword of Damocles hangs tenuously above the callow heads of our fair and innocent citizens. As Bill Paxton’s PTSD’d Space Marine put it in Aliens: “GAME OVER, MAN! GAME OVER!”(NSFW – language)*
Just how bad and how vile is the carnage? What could lay low the American Nation and strew the flotsam and jetsam of a lifetime’s worth memories across the fruited plains? We quiver like pillars of gelatin before a reduction of outlays totaling $44Bn out of $3,553Bn. Yep. We’re reducing the current year budget by less than 2%. $44Bn out of $3,553Bn roughly approaches a budgetary number equal to the left-hand limit of chicken-(expletive)! That’s how pathetically little this sequestration really cuts.

Transportation Secretary Praises Murderous Communists as “More Successful”
Obama Administration Transportation Secretary Ray Lahood has come out in favor of the Chicoms over Americans claiming that in China “only three people make the decision. In our country, 3,000 people do.” Hannah Sternberg of Regnery gives a great example of that Chinese 3 man success. Likewise, the famed high spec rail system in China has come under investigation for corruption, is not making money, | Read More »
Ray LaHood Does Not Have Blank Check to Grant Waivers for EAS Program
Earlier this month, Senate Democrats brazenly forced a two-week partial shutdown of the FAA. They were willing to hold 4,000 employees hostage and forgo millions in revenue from airline tickets, all for the purpose of securing their inveterate pork projects. Democrats refused to pass the House extension bill because Republicans inserted minor limits on a rural pork program, better known as Essential Air Service (EAS). | Read More »
BREAKING: Rick Scott Wins
The Florida Supreme Court has ruled that Governor Rick Scott can reject high-speed rail funds from the federal government. Scott had decided to decline high-speed rail funds for a Tampa to Orlando line and two state legislators sued him. The Florida Supreme Court had put the bipartisan lawsuit filed Tuesday on a fast track because LaHood had given Scott until Friday to accept the money. | Read More »
Obama leaves unfunded transportation mandate under pillow…
…in the hopes of finding $556,000,000,000 under it the next day. No, it’s a legitimate analogy. The National Journal has looked over the President’s proposed transportation bill (public link), and noted this (subscription only): Obama wants $53 billion over six years for a high-speed rail program, $8 billion in fiscal year 2012, and he wants $50 billion this year to jump-start large infrastructure projects. SecTrans Ray LaHood hates your cell phone.
So. It’s a few years from now. You’re driving in your car (with a passenger); it’s night, and it’s snowing. You’re out in the middle of nowhere. One of your tires blows out: fortunately, you’re able to stop before you flip the car, but you’re still out in the middle of nowhere at night in the snow with a flat tire. But that’s why you | Read More »
Distracted Driving Restrictions Gone Wild
The federal government is considering measures to pressure states to ban hands-free cell phone use by drivers. This is an over reaction to the problem of distracted driving. Bloomberg reports that officials of the U.S. Department of Transportation are working on a plan to ban all cell phone use by drivers of cars, including hands-free technology. U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood says he believes motorists are distracted | Read More »
