The Great Debate

Although it is almost impossible to believe, we are already seeing the first glimpses of the 2012 primaries here at RedState. We have been through one season of contentious primaries before, and although our community has grown, we expect many of the same sorts of issues to crop up. Therefore, this is as good of a time as any to address some of the ways | Read More »

    Dear RedState Community

We have a problem. There needs to be a certain amount of flexibility within the rules of this site and I think that as written they are sufficiently clear. The problem is that there is a group of commenters that has come to believe that the rules don’t apply to them. There are long time readers of RedState who believe that somehow the community rules no longer | Read More »

You Are Entering a Republican Zone

This post was originally written by Bob Hahn on July 1, 2005. I have tweaked it just a bit and am bringing it back. Please note that while generally written about the great Democrat vs. Republican divide, the advice herein applies equally well to those all on the same side of the big ditch but who, for varying reasons, cannot get along.Who should read this? You | Read More »

    And Wonders of His Love…..

Promoted from diaries and bumped – Moe Lane My 23 year old son sent me this video. From there, came the idea of a Christmas post; though it is about more than Christmas – had Thanksgiving on my mind, and the year to come. As I watched this video, I was enthralled with the beautiful scenes of nature: the quiet of the woods, the light | Read More »

    Community Building

This is one of those posts that must occasionally be written, though I don’t like to write them.RedState is, above all else, a community site. Anyone can start a diary and participate in the community. Those who play well in the community avoid the blam stick and, over time, we tend to promote from within to the front page. The way we do promotion is pretty | Read More »

MEDIAITE WATCH: An attack on RedState.

Mediaite is now attacking RedState? Mediaite allegedly covers the media. It mostly covers Fox News and MSNBC. The coverage is highly spotty, missing many things (a totally out-of-bounds Chris Matthew fat joke about Chris Christie, for example) while it can do an article on something completely irrelevant. Mediaite almost never covers websites. I can’t remember any time it discussed anything in The Huffington Post, for | Read More »

    Rubio & RedState

Stephen F. Hayes, over at the Weekly Standard, has written some more about things he left out of his original article on Marco Rubio. It included this bit. Rubio also mentioned others whom I did not include in my original story – for reasons of space. He noted: “Jeff Miller endorsing us in Florida was a big deal.” He mentioned Jeb Bush Jr and George | Read More »

    Senate Scorecard: RedState vs NRSC

The time has come for the Senate Republicans to begin thinking about what to do with the National Republican Senatorial Committee, which this last cycle was run by Senator John Cornyn along with bureaucrat Rob Jesmer. Before any Republican endorses that team to go ahead and run the committee for another cycle, I urge them to consider alternatives. The NRSC has the name and the | Read More »
