In defense of Ben Carson on the Border
Dennis Welch, local reporter for KTVK-TV in Arizona, made an outrageously worded report on Twitter about Ben Carson which he clarified right after. This report (I assume by design) sparked a wave of outrage against Ben Carson on Twitter. However I think that he’s probably right on border security, and here’s why.
Has Trump peaked? One poll doesn’t tell us that.
The Real Clear Politics 2016 nomination poll chart appears to be showing that Donald Trump has peaked, and is on the way down. But if you dig past the pretty picture, it’s not clear that’s the case.
Heritage: Nearly 300 Cases of Voter Fraud Across America
The Left likes to shoot down the initiatives like Voter ID laws by claiming that there is little to no voter fraud in America. Conservatives know that they could not be further from the truth. Fortunately for us, the Heritage Foundation has been compiling a list of all the voter fraud cases around the country. As of right now, they have counted almost 300 of | Read More »
Here at the Redstate Gathering, we’re going to be hearing from most of the Republican Presidential candidates. As they all arrive, the debate is going to be what’s on their minds, and on the minds of their campaign staffers. Whether they did well or not, what they do here will try to build on or recover from the debates, because debates matter.
Do Or Do Not. There Is No Try.
Republicans in the Congress are beginning to use the word “try.” They will try to defund Planned Parenthood. But the President has a veto and they do not have the votes to override the veto. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) 44% has moved from try to “can’t.” He says Republicans cannot defund Planned Parenthood because of the President’s veto. This is really, really | Read More »
Republican Leadership Failures Caused Donald Trump’s Rise
I’ll be filling in for Herman Cain from 9am to 12pm ET today talking about this. You can listen live at http://wsbradio.com. The number one thing you hear when you ask any Republican about Donald Trump is this — he fights. You hear it from Rush Limbaugh. You hear it from other talk radio show hosts. You hear it from the base. You hear it | Read More »
GOP candidates to actually discuss education in August; Democrats are… meh, whatever.
We do should be doing four- or five-candidate panels on EVERYTHING, from education to foreign policy to social issues to, heck, what’s good on television these days.

Oh, gee: the Democrats are ‘rebranding.’ AGAIN.
The Democrats are trying to rebrand. Because apparently they’re still convinced that there’s absolutely nothing wrong with their ideas.

This is a Test. For the Next 30 Days We’ll See How Stupid the Republicans Are. This is Only a Test.
The United States Supreme Court will soon hand down its opinion in King v. Burwell and we will get to see just how stupid the GOP is. To recap, the case centers on whether states that do not set up state based exchanges can get subsidies from the federal government to subsidize healthcare costs. The law, as drafted, had a section on state based exchanges. | Read More »
What Each Candidate Says About His/Her Own Campaign Logo
Well, with most of the candidates out there and a few we’ve never heard of, let’s examine the 2016 logos on the GOP side. We may, or may not, have asked each candidate for first person commentary on their own logos. Jeb Bush Hi!! My name is Jeb!! I don’t have a last name because I’m your buddy!! And millennials will like me because I | Read More »

The rehabilitation of George W Bush continues, to the displeasure of various and sundry folks.

The Jacksonville Panic
Several consultants, Democrat and Republican, clued me in last year on a race that has sailed under the radar in the United States: the Jacksonville, FL mayoral race. Democrats and Republicans alike tell me that Barack Obama used Jacksonville as a testing ground for his campaign strategy and technology in helping Democrats take the city. Registered Democrats outnumber their Republican counterparts, but the city has | Read More »
The Republicans in 2016 Are DOOMED!!!!!!
Every once in a while you stumble into a news cycle and think, “This cannot be a coincidence.” As news reports bring word that Hillary Clinton is still refusing to answer questions from the press, Ramadi falls to ISIS, and things just aren’t going well for the Democrats right now, fear not. The press steps in with its usual “The GOP is doomed” headlines. We | Read More »
A Third Question
As we end this month, we must go back to the beginning of the month. Three hundred Republicans filed a brief with the United States Supreme Court begging the court to impose homosexual marriage on the country so that their party need not have to deal with the issue in Campaign 2016. Some of them really want homosexual marriage, but I have no doubt a | Read More »
Tech at Night: Republicans move to stop the picking of winners and losers
Picking winners and losers in the marketplace is a common theme in the Obama era, and Republicans want to put a stop to it. Marsha Blackburn has a bill to quit picking favorites in Radio and close up some copyright ‘loopholes’ (really just favoritism) in the current law. Meanwhile efforts are underway to block Obama’s plan to regulate the Internet misleadingly named ‘Net Neutrality’.
