New Obama 2012 Ad, RNC Response Ad

The President’s 2012 campaign is underway, and they’ve released the first ad, titled “It Begins With Us.” Allow me to summarize: “Remember how much you liked the President in 2008? That was awesome. But he’s super busy now. Here are some pictures of farms and voters!” Kind of ironic name for a reelection campaign ad. Begins? What were the last four years, pre-boarding? Anyway, the | Read More »

    CPAC 2011: Saul Anuzis.

Saul is an old friend of RedState, and is rumored to be running for Senate next year. As you can see, he’s not really authoritatively denying that. Moe Lane (crosspost)

    CPAC 2011: Sharon Day.

Sharon is a new co-chair of the RNC, and was more than happy to talk about the way that procedures were going to be different than those of the old RNC. …and that’s all for tonight, I think. Moe Lane (crosspost)

    How To Save the GOP

Now it seems that John Boehner has endorsed Maria Cino for the Republican National Committee chairmanship. There is a problem with that endorsement. If others follow suit, it will destroy the Republican Party.

    No Reince! NO!

Just my Sally, Dick & Jane way of saying that as a Wisconsin resident, grassroots activist, and Republican Party member, I would sooner chop off my own right arm than see Reince Priebus attain the heights of RNC Chairman. Priebus’ candidacy for national leadership is so egregious to me, in fact, that I’m breaking months of silence here on RedState to stand against it. Much | Read More »

For two top RNC aides, one Steele RNC tour enough

RNC chairman Michael Steele’s two most visible aides announced Sunday they would resign their posts later this week, following the group’s annual Winter Meeting in which it will select a new chairman. When the former Maryland lieutenant governor took over the reigns of the national party apparatus two years ago, he promised an “off the hook” public relations campaign. Instead, Steele’s tenure has been marred | Read More »

    A Concern About Reince Preibus

UPDATE on Priebus: I had earlier noted the Anderson brothers backing Priebus. Apparently this info was conflated from the Anderson brothers doing work in Wisconsin for the state party. They are not, however, backing Priebus————I have a concern about Reince Preibus and it has nothing to do with whether or not he or his law firm helped communities get stimulus money.Back in January of 2009, | Read More »

    On The Priebus Of Disaster….

I am sure the bulk of the grassroots of the Republican Party haven’t given the RNC Chair much thought and why should they? They just had a big win in November, right?.  In 2009 when things were bleak with the Democrats having just taken all levels of government, the only thing we had was the Chair race.  It seemed that Michael Steele had momentum at | Read More »

    The End of Michael Steele

Shawn Steel, a California national committee member who was one of Michael Steele’s strongest allies, announced last weekend that he is supporting Reince Priebus for RNC Chair. This defection is significant because it is almost impossible for Steele to win re-election without him. Reid Wilson writes, “There is no path to victory for Michael Steele that does not include Shawn,” said Ron Kaufman, an influential | Read More »

    Festivus 2010

This time every year, we gather around the metal pole and celebrate Festivus – the made up holiday from Seinfeld discussing our grievances. As is tradition – I will air mine. I’m disappointed in all of the following people. Harry Reid / Nancy Pelosi – Despite leading their respective caucuses to historic loses in the House and Senate, the two of them acted as though | Read More »
