Welcome to the new Media paradigm, Mister Gibbs.
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | October 7th at 10:30 AM |
It’s one where you get interrupted when you try to spin the stupid things that your candidates say. For those without video, it shows: George Stephanopoulos (!) playing a clip of Joe Biden’s infamous ‘buried’ gaffe*; asking Robert Gibbs whether gaffes like this will hurt the Vice President in his upcoming debate with Paul Ryan**; and stopping Gibbs cold when Gibbs tried to claim that | Read More »
Gibbs to leave WH press secretary gig…
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | January 5th at 10:30 AM |
…in order to pursue an exciting career as left center on Hollywood Squares – actually, is that program even still on? No, just kidding: outgoing White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs is going to have some nebulous job defending whatever dumb idea the President comes up with that day, just like before – only now Gibbs will be doing it in places where people can | Read More »

By: Brian Darling (Diary) | July 19th at 11:00 AM |
Last week, WH Press Flack Robert Gibbs declared the House is lost and this week it was up to Vice President Joe Biden to bring a happy message to Democrats. Biden declared his opinion yesterday on This Week. “I don’t think the losses are going to be bad at all. I think we are going to shock the heck out of everybody.” AP reports: Vice President Joe | Read More »

Thank you President Obama. We couldn’t have done it without you. The Conservative movement is back and strong as ever. Liberals and Progressives are in tears. Keep up the good work, Mr. President. More on this issue below the fold. The House will vote on H.R. 1722, the Telework Improvements Act, and 6 suspension bills. The Senate is scheduled to continue work on H.R. 5297, TARP, Jr., and | Read More »
Whoever takes Helen Thomas’ spot should show up to work wearing ruby slippers
By: Tabitha Hale (Diary) | June 7th at 04:32 PM |
(Title credit goes to Knifework) Apparently, the flip camera was the metaphoric house that destroyed the anti-Semitic Wicked Witch of the White House press corps. Her “retirement” was announced by her employer, Hearst News Service, this morning following last week’s debacle resulting from Thomas telling the Jews in “Palestine” to “get the hell out” and “go back to Germany and Poland.” To any thinking person, | Read More »
Does the White House WANT us to keep talking about Sestak?
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | June 2nd at 02:31 PM |
Because they keep bringing it to the forefront. Let me set the scene for this: it turns out that the job offer that Bill Clinton had supposedly offered Joe Sestak was in fact a job offer that Sestak could not take and still keep his House seat. This is important, because Sestak being able to keep his House seat is kind of critical for somebody | Read More »
Is Robert Gibbs allowed to give test[i]monials like this?
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | May 7th at 07:41 PM |
Seriously: that is the man’s official Twitter account. Is it permissible for him to endorse a private company like this while acting in his professional capacity as White House Press Secretary? Via @RobertBluey.
Nashville Drowning: Obama’s silent, HOPE crumbles like a Coke can
By: Tabitha Hale (Diary) | May 3rd at 05:42 PM |
UPDATE: Obama has acknowledged that he is aware of Tennessee’s existence… to Gov. Bredesen at least. Point stands – he has said nothing publicly. And the crumbling HOPE house is still a good metaphor. This weekend, Nashville received around 10 inches of rain – a record breaking rain fall that has caused an astounding amount of flooding. The surrounding rivers swelled and as of this afternoon | Read More »

If you click this link you’ll arrive at a page that, for now, reads, “Our apologies, the requested page was not found. Please double-check the URL for proper spelling and capitalization.” Earlier today that link contained a story that drew heavy fire from the White House and Media Matters. Reuters produced an analysis of Obama’s budget that contained the following: The Obama administration’s plan to | Read More »
