What a Year for Republican Candidates…
…especially in the Senate races. I don’t have a whole ton of time to get this down, so this is going to be a bit quick and dirty. Here’s my main thought: How unbelievably politically bad for President Obama would this headline be, E-Day Plus One: Mark Kirk Wins Obama’s Senate Seat in Shocker Well, it wouldn’t be nearly as bad as if Kirk picked | Read More »
Defending Erick Erickson
False claims of race-baiting have no place in civilized society Nor on the front page of Race42012 It is with great sadness that I am compelled to write this column defending Erick Erickson of Redstate.com against false charges of “pulling the race card”; “race-baiting”; and of being a “race pimp.” Those are fighting words where I come from, and so, after following the Biblical step-by-step | Read More »
Conservatives fight like the brave 300, now where is our Leonidas?
As promised, your favorite Black Conservative returns with a vengeance to the blogging world, like Sarah Palin, EPU, David Hinz, janis, bsimpson, Gamecock, AceInTx, and all of my blogging friends proud to be conservative and not Republican. I took a non voluntary break due to my inability to prevent ordering gaps in my internet service, only to find that the political world is turning upside | Read More »
Gathering a head of steam…
Hat tip to the Weekly Standard Blog. Here’s the cover of the latest National Review… Marco’s got a real shot, from John J. Miller’s cover story… The primary is closed, which means that only registered Republicans can participate. Turnout probably will be low, which increases the importance of conservative activists. Rubio also has started to attract national attention. Sen. Jim DeMint of South Carolina and | Read More »
Crist Trying To Tempt Rubio Into A House Seat?
The race for the Florida Senate seat is getting interesting. Charlie Crist has sent applications to three people for the interim appointment. One of them is Republican Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart, which is surprising. People were expecting a placemat, but Diaz-Balart is an actively engaged and elected politician. An appointment would seemingly end his political career. Second, Diaz-Balart’s district overlaps Marco Rubio’s state district. According to | Read More »
This is a man to support! marco2010
Friday was a night I will remember for many years to come. I had that rarest of experiences. I met a statesman. I got to shake his hand, look in his eyes and see his heart. I got to see the love that he has for his country and it’s people. No, it wasn’t George W. Bush, though I think he had much of that | Read More »
Racist? Uh, no.
Well, I knew it would happen, but I still am an idealist. I thought that perhaps, in our tolerant transparent America we could go through the hearings for a nominee for Supreme Court without cries of racism. But once again I am disappointed. So I guess I need to address this issue, since I have been called a racist (and a bit worse) for questioning | Read More »
My Apologies, Sen. Cornyn. The NRSC-Crist Endorsement Was Brilliant!
Several months ago, I made my first political contribution to the NRSC. I promised the telemarketer who called that I would contribute $X for every GOP senator who voted against the TARP bill. Last month, the same telemarketer called again for more money. I basically told them to take a hike because I was furious that Sen. John Cornyn and the NRSC had endorsed Florida | Read More »
Moderates circle the wagons…for Charlie Crist. What are they afraid of?
The putative leaders of the Senate Republicans, Senators McConnell, McCain and Cornyn will be in Florida soon to raise money for Charlie Crist. “Florida’s Republican Governor Charlie Crist is getting a big boost for his U.S. Senate bid from a bevy of GOP A-listers. Helping to raise money for Crist in Washington are Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) chairman Sen. | Read More »
