Jon Lerner: Winner
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | June 23rd at 01:56 AM |
Friends, if you are still up at this late hour you know Mike Lee won in Utah. We beat Bob Bennett twice — first at the convention and second by beating his chosen successor. We beat the Chamber of Commerce and the GOP establishment back in DC with this race. But we need to raise a glass to a man many of you have never | Read More »
Republican Senators Declare Themselves Gutless Wonders
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | June 16th at 10:00 AM |
The Politico has a story about Republican Senators running away from Sharron Angle. It includes this gem of gutless wonderdom: Several Senate Republicans told POLITICO that they don’t favor privatizing Social Security, as Angle has supported. Small government conservatives said it doesn’t make sense to eliminate the Energy and Education departments – as she’s called for in the past. And some recoiled at the thought | Read More »
No Time to Go Wobbly: It’s Time to Follow the New Iron Ladies Into Battle
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | June 9th at 12:33 PM |
As the two prepared for the first Gulf war, Margaret Thatcher famously told George H.W. Bush “this is no time to go wobbly.” Well, I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to believe that we are now fully engaged in a political war for the very future of our nation. It is no time for us to go wobbly. The Republican Establishment is declaring this their | Read More »
Support Sharron Angle. Beat Harry Reid.
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | June 9th at 11:14 AM |
Sharron Angle is going to need an immediate infusion of cash from conservative activists to beat Harry Reid. She can do it. Polling in the last days of the primary showed Angle, but not Lowden, beating Harry Reid. The voters chose wisely. Angle can win, but we have to help her. Reid has a pile of cash ready to define Angle. She is going to | Read More »
Angle, Tarkanian overtake Lowden
By: Neil Stevens (Diary) | June 3rd at 12:12 PM |
I keep saying that multiway races are volatile. When voters are spread out in more directions, the sums are smaller and it’s easier for big changes to happen. Suffolk University’s latest on the Nevada Senate primary for the Washington Times seems to be another example of this effect. Sue Lowden has gone from first to last, and Sharron Angle now leads.

Club for Growth Goes In For Angle, Hits Lowden
By: Dan McLaughlin (Diary) | May 26th at 01:16 PM |
With Danny Tarkanian apparently fading, the June 8 Nevada Senate primary race to face Harry Reid is going to come down to conservative Sharron Angle against moderate, establishment candidate Sue Lowden. Lowden has already kicked up a fuss with the observation that in the days before health insurance, people who lacked money for care – at least in rural areas and small towns – would | Read More »
Putting This ‘Dropping Out’ Business In Perspective
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | May 21st at 12:51 PM |
“No matter her money, no matter her claims that Chuck is the spoiler, and no matter her endorsements, Carly Fiorina will not be the next United States Senator from California” I think we need a time out on the whole issue of who should drop out in California. The objective fact is that Carly Fiorina cannot seal the deal with conservatives in California. Because of | Read More »
Rob Jesmer: Super Tuesday’s Super Loser
By: jobresmer (Diary) | May 19th at 10:00 AM |
So top NRSC strategist Rob Jesmer, who gave us the Charlie Crist debacle and backed Bob Bennett in Utah, had another banner day on Super Tuesday’s primary contests. The two candidates he fought to get the NRSC to back suffered embarrassing defeats (Arlen Specter & Trey Grayson) , and the two candidates he tried to destroy (Pat Toomey & Rand Paul) cake-walked into big victories. | Read More »
