Defund Obamacare Now!
By: Daniel Horowitz (Diary) | March 1st at 03:48 PM |
Next week House Republicans plan to bring a Continuing Resolution to the floor, which will fund the federal government for the rest of the fiscal year. If nothing is done to stop them, GOP leaders plan to put forth a clean CR that funds Obamacare. This is unacceptable. With health insurance premiums skyrocketing, employers dumping workers from health plans, and new reports predicting trillions in | Read More »
Whodunit?
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | December 12th at 02:08 PM |
Conservatives need answers. Four Republicans were removed from their respective committees for voting against House Republican Leaders. As has now been well chronicled, the excuses for why the removals happened keeps changing. It is time for conservatives to start fighting back. As House Republicans continue to surrender and out negotiate themselves, we must demand answers. Go here now and start calling Steering Committee members. Ask | Read More »
Call Members of the Steering Committee Now
By: Daniel Horowitz (Diary) | December 10th at 11:31 PM |
The purge of conservatives from key committees last week was not a natural disaster. It was perpetrated by leadership with the help of the rest of the 31 members on the Steering Committee. They all need to hear from us. Let’s take a step back and analyze what occurred last week. It is not a normal occurrence for incumbent members in good standing to be | Read More »
The Purge of House Conservatives Continues
By: Daniel Horowitz (Diary) | December 3rd at 01:59 PM |
Well, House leadership made sure to elevate like-minded members to leadership; they took care to co-opt the Republican Study Committee; they packed the Steering Committee, which chooses committee assignments, with a bunch of loyalists. Now we’re seeing the effects of those decisions. Maybe it’s because he’s intent on repealing Dodd-Frank. Maybe it’s because he wants to use his committee assignment to advocate winding down Fannie | Read More »
The Bipartisan Love Fest at the House Agriculture Committee
By: Daniel Horowitz (Diary) | July 12th at 01:52 PM |
While we are struggling to repeal the government takeover of healthcare, a bipartisan bicameral group of politicians are further entrenching government control of Agriculture. They are also agreeing to enshrine Obama’s food stamp spending into the welfare system indefinitely. We have witnessed a robust counteroffensive against the farm/food stamp bill among great writers and policy makers in the conservative movement. Unfortunately, there aren’t too many | Read More »
Freshman House Republicans Need Some Good Discernment
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | November 17th at 06:22 PM |
This morning’s Politico has an article on the number of leadership posts that the incoming class of 2010 is demanding be set aside for freshmen. Two slots on the Elected Leadership Committee (ELC), which basically means they will sit at the leadership table and participate in the discussion, one class president (largely irrelevant), and importantly, two coveted slots on the Steering Committee which makes committee | Read More »

It is time for conservatives to get off the fence in KS-01
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | July 16th at 12:00 PM |
Lots of conservatives have sat out KS-01 because we all like Rob Wassinger, who worked for Sam Brownback, but whose campaign is going nowhere. But because of that, conservatives have let down Tim Huelskamp, a solidly pro-life, fiscal conservative that both I, Concerned Women of America, the Club for Growth have endorsed. Surveys are coming out showing the most liberal man (big spending and pro-abortion) | Read More »
