Tom Tancredo: Perry a “fraud”, Paul’s fans “nuts”, Newt’s plan full of “holes”
By: Caleb Howe (Diary) | January 20th at 12:00 PM |
TIRNation has been posting a lot of video during the Southern Republican Leadership Conference, all worth watching. Below, watch Ben Howe interview Tom Tancredo. At around the six minute mark, Congressman Tancredo remarks on the (at the time) current GOP candidates. Congressman Tancredo says that Rick Perry is a “fraud on almost every issue” he can think of. On Newt’s immigration plan: it “has more | Read More »
Tancredo whines about GOP unity.
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | November 27th at 03:30 PM |
Ah, what a difference an election makes. Back in October, Tom Tancredo mocking the GOP: “What’s the point? I mean, if I can be more effective as governor, if the Republicans in the legislature are going to have their feelings hurt or whatever, then I’ll consider it. But really what’s the purpose? What do I need from [GOP Chairman] Dick Wadhams? Why would I argue | Read More »
Why Is Dan Maes Allowed To Debate?
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | October 25th at 04:38 PM |
A new poll out in Colorado shows Dan Maes getting only 5% of the vote. Why is he allowed on stage to debate Hickenlooper and Tancredo? Just because he is a Republican? If the guy were a Libertarian, a Greenie, a Reform Party guy, etc. he would be seen as illegitimate with 5% in the polls. Why is CBS4 giving him a platform when he | Read More »
I Endorse Tom Tancredo for Governor of Colorado
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | October 12th at 10:19 AM |
If you have not read Nightwister’s post you need to. If the Republicans in Colorado get less than ten percent of the vote in the gubernatorial race, the Colorado GOP will lose its privileged position in Colorado as a major party — a designation that gives it automatic ballot access. This will tremendously impact down ballot races in Colorado long term. At a time when | Read More »
Dan Maes: Political Suicide Bomber
By: NightTwister (Diary) | October 12th at 06:00 AM |
Promoted to the front by Erick because Dan Maes must drop out for the good of the people of Colorado and of the party he purportedly would lead. Almost two weeks ago I wrote this. I truly believed it was in the best interests of Coloradans, especially in the long term, to continue to support Dan Maes in the Governor race. That all changed for | Read More »
It is Time for Dan Maes to Go
By: Erick Erickson (Diary) | September 29th at 01:00 PM |
It is always a tough thing for candidates to do, but sometimes it is necessary. Dan Maes is running a terrible campaign terribly underfunded in Colorado. He has the establishment Republicans and most of the grassroots doing something no one thought was possible — rallying to Tom Tancredo. The latest polling in Colorado has Maes at 15%, behind Tancredo and Hickenlooper, the Democrat. Maes cannot | Read More »
Has Dan Maes been well and truly kneecapped?
By: Neil Stevens (Diary) | September 28th at 01:30 PM |
Any political party must work as a team to win. While the primary process will become at times a competitive and even divisive, any inability to set those feelings aside and back the nominee will give the party trouble. A few Republicans this cycle know what kind of trouble that is, but none has more than Dan Maes against Democrat John Hickenlooper for Colorado Governor. | Read More »
BREAKING: Dan Maes May Drop Out of CO Gov Race
By: NightTwister (Diary) | September 2nd at 01:23 PM |
From the diaries by Erick. Karen Crummy at the Denver Post reports that former CO Senate President John Andrews has withdrawn his endorsement of Republican gubernatorial candidate Dan Maes. Andrews met with Maes to encourage him to drop out of the race so the Party can choose another candidate with a chance to beat the democratic candidate John Hickenlooper in November. Andrews, who as late | Read More »
A tale of two polls: Colorado edition
By: Neil Stevens (Diary) | August 31st at 04:00 PM |
It seems like most of the third party and independent spoilers this year are harming Democrats, but the Constitution Party’s Tom Tancredo is clearly hurting Republican Dan Maes in the Colorado Governor’s race, currently throwing the lead to Democrat John Hickenlooper. But two new polls on that race, from Magellan Strategies via Real Clear Politics and Rasmussen Reports are so different that I think we | Read More »
