Deciphering Man from Pig
By: Daniel Horowitz (Diary) | March 11th at 07:52 AM |
The behavior of the Republicans majority leadership in the House reminds me of the last paragraph in Animal Farm. “Twelve voices were shouting in anger, and they were all alike. No questions, now, what had happened to the faces of the pigs. The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was | Read More »
GOP House Passes Unconstitutional Democrat VAWA Bill
By: Daniel Horowitz (Diary) | February 28th at 03:22 PM |
Earlier today, the Republican-controlled House passed the Senate version of the unconstitutional Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). The Senate bill expands “coverage” to illegal aliens, men, homosexuals, transgendered individuals and prisoners. It also expands the law’s reach to give tribal Indian authorities jurisdiction over non-Indians accused of abusing Indian women. The final bill passed with the support of 87 Republicans. Before voting on this bill, the | Read More »
Violence Against Women?
By: Daniel Horowitz (Diary) | February 5th at 08:02 AM |
Liberals have always held a bifurcated view of women and their need for government protection. On the one hand, they seek to use the boot of government to obliterate every last inherent difference between the genders, even in the most physical manifestations. On the other hand, they use big government programs to grant superfluous rights to women, as if they needed government to protect them | Read More »
Romney Must Coalesce Around Conservatives, Not Vice Versa
By: Daniel Horowitz (Diary) | April 25th at 08:37 AM |
There is an interesting factoid that was overlooked from last night’s largely pro-forma presidential primaries. According to University of Minnesota’s Eric Ostermeier, Romney was the first GOP frontrunner who failed to reach 60% in contests “conducted after his last major challenger dropped out of the race.” Romney won just 56% of the vote in Delaware and 58% in Pennsylvania. Over the past few months, we’ve | Read More »
Say No to Violence Against the Constitution Act
By: Daniel Horowitz (Diary) | April 23rd at 06:29 AM |
One of the oldest legislative schemes of the left is to hide terrible statist laws behind mellifluous sounding names. There is no better example of this outrage than the Orwellian Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) of 1994, which is up for reauthorization before the Senate. Democrats want to expand the role of this already ill-conceived bill in a way that will subvert our judicial system | Read More »
Ron Johnson’s Blue-Slipping of Joe Biden’s Victoria Nourse.
By: Moe Lane (Diary) | August 5th at 05:00 PM |
Let me tell you a tale of the incompetence of Vice President Joe Biden. Trust me, this one is even better than usual. Once upon a time, back in the days when Joe Biden was a bad Senator instead of a bad Vice President, he had a staffer named Victoria Nourse. Ms. Nourse’s major claim to fame was ‘helping’ to write the (later deemed partially-unconstitutional) | Read More »
