Mitt Romney and John F. Kerry – Parallel Lives?

It is not histories I am writing, but lives; and in the most glorious deeds there is not always an indication of virtue of vice, indeed a small thing like a phrase or a jest often makes a greater revelation of a character than battles where thousands die. – Plutarch (HT: Livius.org) History doesn’t tend to repeat itself in completely sinusoidal fashion. It does, however | Read More »

    Ted Kennedy’s memoires

read today that Teddy’s memoires are about to be released.  1,000 leatherbound special edition copies will sell for $1,00 each.  The title?  “True Compass”  Does anyone else see the irony in Teddy dedicating his culminating literary work to a navigation device?  If only I had On Star, I wouldn’t have taken the wrong turn off the bridge.

    Bush resign now?

Gail Collins in The New York Times: “Thanksgiving is next week, and President Bush could make it a really special holiday by resigning. . . . Dick Cheney, obviously, would have to quit as well as Bush. In fact, just to be on the safe side, the vice president ought to turn in his resignation first. . . Then House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would become | Read More »

    I’m Gonna Miss George Bush

Here are some of the lighter moments of the Bush presidency. Now, don’t take this as me making fun of George Bush, I’m not. I’m really going to miss the Bush years because we’ve all gotten so used to them. It almost seems as if Bush had been president for more than eight years. And given the recent news overseas, I’m especially going to miss | Read More »

Please pray for Barney and Miss Beazley, President Bush’s dogs (of course!). Please pray for Willie, President Bush’s cat. LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYERS!!!!!

    Why isn’t President Bush campaigning?

really don’t understand why President Bush isn’t making any campaign appearances. I haven’t seen him making any campaign appearances for John McCain or any other Republican candidates. It seems to me that as President, he should be making a big effort to get another Republican elected! Where is he? He should be out there working for Republicans in close congressional races and for McCain!

    Kirk Cameron vs. Oliver Stone…

As an evangelical Christian I have to admit when it comes to Christian entertainment the cheese abounds. The newest film “Fireproof” from the producers of “Facing the Giants” is no exception to this commonly held stereo type. What I do find funny is that a so called masterpiece of Oliver Stone in “W.” could not even beat out a movie involving talking dogs. In its | Read More »

ABC did “creative editing” on Palin’s interview!

BC should be ashamed of the way they edited the interview with Sarah & Gibson…unfortunately, she didn’t sign a form requesting “NO EDITING” {as obama did}, for she trusted them to be fair & honest ~ which they were not. *They should be required to play the entire content, minus their edits, to show her actual answers & not the ones that they “put in | Read More »

    A tribute to President Bush

**If you can keep your head when all about youAre losing theirs and blaming it on you,If you can trust yourself when all men doubt youBut make allowance for their doubting too,If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise: If | Read More »

    Reading McCain’s web site, R v. W

ccording to his web site, McCain opposes the intentional creation of human embryos for research purposes, but supports adult stem cell research. Teaser Trailer for Oliver Stone’s “W” Now Online.

Flat out: I’m a progressive Democrat, and I’m sure I strongly disagree with most of those here on just about every issue (except gun control and some union-related stuff). Having said that, I’m genuinely curious about your thoughts on the upcoming Oliver Stone film about George W. Bush. Specifically, I’d like to know what your initial reaction is to the teaser trailer, which was just | Read More »
