My politics I recently joined a social networking group centered around an activity that tends to attract a lot of liberals. Someone started a discussion thread on politics, and more than one lefty jumped in with the usual talking points. I haven’t so far seen anything from a conservative. Here’s the entry I’m thinking about submitting.
Liberalism is Born of Laziness
Too many people want their hand-out. Too few ever take the first step to independence and success. Is it because they can’t, or because they don’t ever care to try? Go to most parks in the U.S., and you will invariably find a sign exhorting you to refrain from feeding the animals. This is because if enough fools feed these wild creatures, they will become | Read More »
Race card – This is really crazy…
So on the heels of Lewis’s comments this has to be the most ubsurd claim of racisim in this campaign yet… Obama’s advisors are claiming that McCain’s comparison of Obama’s tax plan to welfare carries a subliminal racial message. This is really outrageous. Obama’s tax plan calls for “tax credits” in the form of checks from the government to people who don’t even pay federal | Read More »
It’s simple really. When Republicans were successful during the 90’s in getting real welfare reform passed the Dems had to find a new vehicle to keep their wealth redistribution engine churning. They found the perfect piggy bank in Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. Couching the scheme in lofty sounding rhetoric about the American Dream, blah, blah, blah. I do not think for one minute that | Read More »
Not a politician. Just a mother and fellow American.
Fellow Americans, I am a single mother and I am trying to finish college on top of that. I suppose you could say thus far I have been a life long Democrat. The past few years I have considered myself to be more of an Independent. Although I am definitely in what would be considered the lower income bracket (to be perfect honest more likely | Read More »
I guess I’m politically incorrect…
Watching tv the other day I saw a woman yelling at a reporter about how her welfare check was not big enough to support her and her 3 kids. She was standing there, no apparent physical abnormalities, no speech problems and no missing limbs. She had gold hoop earrings on. I read the other day how horrible it was that Palin’s church prays to save | Read More »
The flood from New Orleans came north
Rain, rain go away… And with it, please take back the flood of people from New Orleans! If I have to hear one more interview with ungrateful people complaining that nobody is providing them with diapers and formula, shampoo and underwear, I’ll scream. My family and I live in an area where we were warned we might also have to leave at a moment’s notice | Read More »
Changing The Subject
Imagine it’s August 29. The DNC convention has ended and Obama leads by 20 points in the polls. He gave a blockbuster of a speech at Invesco Field that even Republicans will applaud. The MSM’s legs will still be tingling even two days later. At the convention Obama will of course have proposed zillions of dollars in new spending as well as raise everyone’s taxes, | Read More »
Barackstar to Michigan’s new Welfare Queen: ‘Stay away… STAY AWAY!’
Cross-posted on Right Michigan at www.RightMichigan.com. Attention women: If you live in Michigan and you’re a fan of Barack Obama then there’s a big party being thrown today just for you. Well, assuming your name isn’t Jennifer Granholm. The Ivory Tower reports this morning that the Barackstar’s campaign is kicking off their official “Michigan Women for Obama” organization. Here’s the trick… the headliner isn’t Michigan’s | Read More »
Social Welfare and the Republican Party
The foundations of modern conservatism can be faithfully traced to the same religious doctrine from which the founding ideals of America took root. Yet, the Republican party is largely perceived as being hostile to social welfare in general, presumably out of the belief that its practice necessarily leads to income redistribution. But as the increasingly common fate of lottery winners has often shown, the link | Read More »
Not Livin’ Large in Ohio, Folks Can’t Even Afford Meat?
That’s it. NPR has declared Ohio a disaster area. Things are so bad. NPR gravely warns, that folks in the Buckeye state can’t even afford to buy meat for their dinner tables anymore. It’s the end of civilization as we know it. Doom and gloom. Oh the humanity. It’s the end of the world as we know it… at least for one Ohio family that | Read More »
