Liberal-left nightmare.  Catholic and Protestant Ministers had a private “Pastors Lunch” in York County, PA under the auspices of Americans for Christian Traditions in our Nation.

The very definition of an “ecumenical” (“gathering promoting… Christian unity or cooperation” see Merriam-Webster), what brought this otherwise disparate group together?

One attendee told me the pastors are concerned as never before about the threat to religious liberty and wanted to discuss what they can do to alert their congregations.  The threat – specifically including the recent “edict” from the federal government which I have written of here recently – bothers all of them a great deal.

No doubt we have Barack Obama, Obamacare and this threat to religious liberty to thank for this record gathering at the annual Pastors Luncheon.

These Christian pastors of York County, PA – 38 in all – gathered to discuss these issues and how they could increase the influence of Christians over government policy and who is elected to office to represent York County.

The York County Chapter of Americans for Christian Traditions in Our Nation (ACTIONofPA), the lunch sponsor is Pastor Ken Gibson of Pleasant View Brethren in Christ Church (Red Lion, PA), who was the “Master of Ceremonies” for the luncheon.

The pastors heard keynote remarks from Joe Watkins, pastor of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, the oldest African-American church in Philadelphia, PA , a past CNN commentator and radio talk show host and former candidate for Lt. Governor of PA.

In addition, Father Samuel E. Houser of St. Patrick Catholic Church in York, PA spoke of his recent efforts to persuade every member of his congregation that they must register to vote if they haven’t.

He has done this repeatedly – providing parishioners with the official registration forms in his church.

Father Houser made sure his Catholic churchgoers understand it is their duty to vote, and they must be very careful to vote for candidates who oppose abortion and who reflect their own views, who will defend our right to religious liberty, not just follow a “party line” out of habit.

Father Houser was introduced by one of the members of his congregation, who noted that the parish priest  has been “sounding this call to arms” to his Catholic congregation repeatedly since the Feb. 10 edict from the Obama Administration, forcing Catholic Churches which teach that abortion and certain contraception they would be forced to provide are actually “life threatening” (as the Harrisburg diocese website describes it) and violate the religious liberty of those who oppose these practices.

To thunderous applause, the Catholic prelate was introduced as a true “profile in courage” for taking such a strong and courageous stand and urging his congregation to write in protest to all their elected officials and to make sure they only vote for candidates who will defend our religious liberty.

“It takes courage” said the member of his congregation introducing him, “because some of those who will vote for the straight line ticket of President Obama and to restore Nancy Pelosi as House Speaker will be very angry with their pastor for taking this stand and will no doubt complain loudly.”

Elected officials who came in for criticism in Father Houser’s remarks include the Obama Administration for launching this new assault on religious liberty and trying to persuade female voters that it is about contraception – which it is not, incumbent US Senator from Pennyslvania, Bob Casey, and most especially former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi who keeps reminding everyone she is a Catholic but who then attacks her own Church.

Father Houser was especially critical of Pennsylvania Senator Robert Casey, who many people voted for thinking he was like his late father in being anti-abortion, but they were deceived.

We understand from one of the attendees that Father Houser has in fact confirmed some in his congregation are unhappy with him – but also that he has apparently gained some fans around the country, at least one of whom wrote to him as a result of our earlier story.

He also has heard from a large number of his parishioners who are very supportive of his recent and repeated remarks from the pulpit in defense of religious liberty and urging his churchgoers to register to vote and to vote.  You can write to Father Houser to thank him,  SamuelHouser@yahoo.com.

The keynote remarks at the luncheon were delivered by Pastor Joe Watkins, introduced by Steve Johnson, a member of the board of directors of Americans for Christian Traditions in our Nation.

Steve Johnson, like Joe Watkins, is a recent candidate for Lt. Governor of Pennsylvania.  The two struck up a friendship as they competed in that race and shared various platforms around the state, during which they learned that they shared a strong Christian faith and conservative philosophy.  Steve recommended Joe Watkins as the speaker at this annual Pastor’s Luncheon.

Joe Watkins is a former staffer for Vice President Dan Quayle and has been a longstanding conservative advocate.  Despised by the radical left, he has been attacked by one of the top leftwing blogsites, Daily Kos, with one blogger writing of him after his TV appearance on CNN:

“The most fervent attacker of Rev. Wright was the African-American commentator Joe Watkins, who I haven’t really paid much attention to.  He was practically frothing at the mouth…”

You may recall the news – ignored by the “mainstream” media – about radical leftwing, anti-America Pastor Jeremiah Wright in 2008 with his blatantly racist, anti-white views who preached his filth from the pulpit of Barack Obama’s church for 20 years.  Wright has made additional “pronouncements” covered “religiously” (if I may say) by the “mainstream” press since President Obama’s election.

That Jeremiah Wright “Church” was Obama’s “base of operations” for 20 years which helped launch his organizing and political career, starting with the “organizing” of black churches in Chicago to “get out the vote” and elect leftwing Democrats – including himself – to office.

Funny how silent the left is about the “separation of Church and state” with Rev. Jeremiah Wright and Barack Obama supporters recent efforts to recruit “congregation captains” in every Church, engage in partisan politics at their churches to reelect him, but goes crazy about Pastor Joe Watkins.

The hate site Daily Kos posting I found, attacked Joe Watkins because on CNN recently he dared criticize  the radical, anti-America comments of Rev. Wright.

The Daily Kos blogger asked, “Just who is this ‘analyst’ and what is his agenda… attacking Barack Obama and Rev. Wright…”

Oh that leftwing Daily Kos blogger was upset with Joe Watkins, especially that Joe dared to have been born black and chose to be a conservative instead of a faithful little leftist.

The leftwing blogger who attacked Joe Watkins used vicious and racist language to describe him as an “oreo” (black on the outside but white on the inside – because he is a conservative).

It isn’t hard to see why Human Events described Daily Kos as the sixth worst “hate site” on the internet.

But on the other hand, anyone who whips up this much of a frenzy by militant leftists has plenty to recommend to conservatives.

I hope to obtain more details on the remarks of Joe Watkins at this luncheon to report in this column later this week (a videotape may be made available to me).

We applaud the efforts of Joe Watkins, ACTIONofPA (York Chapter) President, Pastor Ken Gibson, Catholic Priest, Father Samuel E. Houser, and ACTIONofPA (York Chapter) board member Steve Johnson, and all 38 who attended this “Pastors Luncheon” for their efforts to get more Christians to vote and to defend against this year’s worst attack on religious liberty in history.

If those who attended this annual “Pastors Luncheon” – in this case a most “ecumenical” gathering of Catholics and Christians – follow through on what they discussed this past Thursday and they turn out more of their congregation to vote then in the past watch for some changes.

Without ever telling anyone specifically who to vote for or against, these pastors may be responsible for Pennsylvania electing a different United States Senator (goodbye Democratic Bob Casey), and may change Pennsylvania from blue Barack Obama to a “Nobama” RED STATE, and on that happy note I will conclude today’s RED STATE column.

The crowd shouted out ‘PCW!…PCW!…as the show began.  ‘The Innovator of Extreme Broadcast Excellence’ Rush Limbaugh (R) walked out to one third cheers, one third boos, and the other just…ehhh.

Limbaugh knows that last week, he was pretty hard on Sandra Fluke, he was tough, and he made a mistake. It’s amazing, Limbaugh admits, that he made a mistake. He said some mean things about poor Sandra Fluke and probably pushed the limits of what he should have say.  But Limbaugh says he went too far in calling her a ‘slut’ because he lowered himself…lowered himself to the Democrats level.  He lowered himself to every dirty, underhanded and despicable thing the Democrats have ever done.  And for that, he’s sorry.

PCW Investigative Reporter Woodward Bernstein interviews Sandra Fluke.  Fluke dismisss Limbaugh’s apology and says it doesn’t change anything.

Fluke: It is really important for us all to understand that this was not one person who went crazy and made ‘funny’ outrageous statements. This is evidently a segment of our political commentators who think that it is acceptable in today’s society to say these things about women.

Bill Maher, who has referred to Sarah Palin as a c***,  then walked by with a briefcase filled with a million dollars.  He asks which way to the pro-Obama super PAC.

Charlie Blackwell (AmHeart) goes to the ring with a microphone.

Blackwell: Here’s the thing. This isn’t about what Limbaugh said. This isn’t about standing up for women because if it was, the same group who are complaining about Rush would have gone ballistic over what Maher, and others have said about Palin, Christine O’Donnell etc. This is about scoring political points. This is about getting Rush. And at a time where gas is creeping up to $4 to $5 per gallon; at a time where our national debt is out of control; at a time where middle class Americans are struggling like hell to make ends meet, to pay their bills, to pay their mortgages, the fact that we’re talking about something a radio talk show host said is, frankly, offensive.

Suave: Amen!

Blackwell is then attacked by Political Correctness: ‘New Age Sensitive Guy’ Blaine Thomas-Taylor (D) and Andy ‘The Bureaucrat’ Riley (D)  Thomas-Taylor and Riley beat down Blackwell until Blackwell’s Les Miserables hit the ring and chase PC out.

The crowd roars as the red, white, and blue clad Miss USA, an old rival of KRC’s, climbs into the ring with KRC.  Miss USA tells KRC that in her mind she might be the modern epitome of the American woman, but Miss USA has had a baby.  And she’s back in PCW working helping her husband and family paying the bills. KRC tries to interrupt but Miss USA goes on.

Miss USA: It seems to me that the only choice you and your ilk support is choice that fits your agenda.

Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) runs out and demands Miss USA stop and says that this isn’t going to happen because this is her show and her women’s division. PCW Competition Committee Chief John Boehner (R-OH) grabs her mic and tells her she’s wrong.

KRC blindsides Miss USA and decks her.  Then Code Pink and Emily List run out and they take turns kicking away at MIss USA.  Then the crowd roars when…

’Texas Cowgirl’ Haley Dallas and Kalee Jones- The Eskimo Queen (R) run down and even the odds.  KRC, Code Pink, and List exit the ring and head to the back.

Valora asks Chism “When did you become such a bitch?” and the crowd explodes.  Chism goes nuts and screams “you can’t say that to me, I’m the One Man Hollywood A-List!”  Chism challenges Valora to match tonight to settle this once and for all as the crowd chanted ‘Valora’s going to kill you.’

If you don’t understand that then you need to open your eyes! America is dying a slow death and we are all too afraid to say it and do anything about it.

The country is in the mess it is today because of the ill conceived notion that being a ‘moderate’ or someone who ‘compromises’ is what we should strive for. You hear it every day on television about how gridlock in Washington is such a terrible thing and how politicians can’t get “The Peoples” work done like they want to because the right wing won’t compromise.

Obama Socialism

In the eyes of a liberal, progressive, socialist, Marxist or Democrat (they are all the same) compromise ONLY means caving in to their demands. To them being a ‘moderate’ means going along with what they want. And for years conservatives have played right along except for a brief period of time when Ronald Reagan was President.

But even Reagan did more compromising than he should have. He was also fooled by the Democrats into thinking that they would deal honestly and fairly with him promising him things in return for his support of some issues on their agenda. Reagan commented in his later years that he felt betrayed and never saw the things he was promised by the Democrats. We should have learned from that a long time ago.

Years, and years of ‘compromise’ and being ‘moderate’ have left this country in a financial disaster it may not be able to recover from. Government spending is out of control and growing at an ever increasing rate. We have a national debt of well over 15 Trillion dollars, 40% of every dollar we spend is borrowed and half of all Americans are not paying any income taxes. This is a recipe for economic collapse.

How much longer will an increasingly smaller and smaller portion of society continue to pay for everything and everyone else? How much longer can entitlements keep growing before there is just no more money to pay for them? Does anyone really think the Fed can keep printing more and more money and nothing catastrophic will take place?

Last week we saw a dog and pony show on Capitol Hill, presented by the Democrats where a young woman proclaimed that it was just not right that she had to pay for her own contraception. She is a student at a prestigious law school and let the world know that it was just ‘too much’ to expect her to pay for her own contraception while at law school. Really? Wow! She is even on a scholarship at the school. So she (and every Democrat in the country) expect the taxpayers or insurance companies to pay for her birth control. Remember, insurance companies will not ‘pay’ for it. They will just raise the premiums of their customers to pay for it. And the ‘government’ will not pay for it. They will raise taxes or just print more money out of thin air to pay for it. So as crazy it seems the bottom line is all us taxpayers and workers will pay for her contraception needs whether we want to or not.

Entitlement Spending

Yet, “The People” want more and more of this insanity it seems. The media and Democrats make you feel like you are some kind of evil person if you dare to say you are against another new entitlement. Most people want to feel good about themselves and don’t want to have someone say or even think they are a ‘bad’ person so they go along with it.

They stay silent or even vote for the people (Democrats) that will enact more such laws because it makes them feel good about themselves. “I am a good person! I support more entitlements! I vote for Democrats because they are more moderate and that is a good thing.” Then these voters can sleep peacefully at night knowing they ‘helped’ someone in need when in reality they are hurting the country as a whole in a dramatic way.

The truth is this is all a bunch of Bull! The bleeding hearts and people that want to (or need to) feel good about themselves and vote for Democrats or RINO’s are the cause of the very problems we face today that will doom the country. When you hear the media or a Democrat saying, “It is good to be a moderate. We need compromise” it is a trap! What they are really saying is you voters need to let us turn America into a socialist country by putting us in office. They pitch the phony narrative that they want to help the poor, help the children, protect women’s rights and save the Earth when their true intent is something very different.

Democrats are hypocrites! I realized this when I was only about 12 years old. They say things to try and tug at your heart strings and make you feel like you are a bad person if you don’t support their agenda. Their agenda is ruining this country as we know it and must be stopped.

Andrew Breitbart

Andrew Breitbart said it best when he proclaimed, “This is war! We conservatives are not taking it anymore!” Yes, we have ‘taken it’ for years and years and it has to change. The liberals have been ‘at war’ with us for some time. When will we realize that? We have literally lost control of our own government while we had our backs turned, working hard making the country great. While we were minding our own business people like Barack Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi have been hard at work within the government making their socialist agenda a reality. The very fabric of America is being changed right before our eyes. If you don’t think this is ‘war’ you are naïve and foolish.

These are scary times! We have an electorate that produced a President that flat out told us he did not like America and was determined to “fundamentally change it.” He told us what he was going to do and he is doing it! Being a good person DOES NOT mean being a ‘moderate’ or being willing to ‘compromise’. The time for compromise and moderation is over. Being in the ‘middle’ is the totally wrong way to think unless you want America to be a socialist country.

In truth, being a good citizen means standing up for what is right and what needs to be done and NOT backing down. We must take our medicine or we will never get better. The Democrats are like a bad parent. They give their kids candy because the kids want it even though they know it will make them sick and rot their teeth. In fact, they even get them addicted to the candy by design. They buy their kids lavish Christmas presents and pay for them with a credit card that they have no intention of ever paying off themselves. They don’t tell their kids this but the ‘kids’ will be the ones having to pay for that credit card bill sometime in the future.

The Democrats take every opportunity to kill energy production because in truth they want gasoline to be $10 a gallon so people won’t drive. They tell you they are trying to save the environment instead of telling the truth that they really don’t want a population of citizens that are ‘empowered’ to be free people and pursue happiness. The Democrats think they are the ‘ruling class’, that they know best and that we are pheasants. The pheasants can’t be controlled if they are free to do what they please economically and politically. $10 a gallon gasoline is part of their plan to keep people dependant on the government which of course is them.

The Communist Party was not the workers party. They just said that to keep the masses in check so they could tax them and control them with a strong central government. Anyone that tells you that is not the exact same thing the Democrats want these days is a liar. The Democratic Party has totally been taken over by socialists, progressives and Marxists. The Communists were the ruling class. That is the Democrats goal these days.

We better wake up and take action now before it is too late. The Constitution is our guiding principle and we must ‘demand’ a return to a government that obeys the Constitution. We are like a speeding car heading towards a cliff and the Democrats are saying ‘go faster!’ Now ‘why’ would they want that? The Republicans are saying, “Well, maybe we should consider slowing down a little bit or changing course somewhat. We need to talk about that.”

Both parties are taking us down a path to ruin, one just quicker than the other. Nancy Pelosi even said that there ‘should be no difference’ no matter which party wins the majority in the government. What she means is that, in her mind, it does not matter if Republicans or Democrats win. The end result will be the same. A strong central government that controls the masses…meaning controlling us.

The government needs to leave people alone, get off the back of businesses, and stop spending money they don’t have. We must DEMAND that from our elected officials or vote them out. As Rick Perry said, “The Federal Government needs to be as inconsequential in the everyday lives of Americans as possible.” The time is now and we must act to take back our government and restore America to what it once was. No more compromise.

If we don’t act now what Ronald Reagan warned us about will come true…

Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn’t pass it on to our children in the bloodstream. But the Republican Establishment in the form of Corporate Might’s Big Oil (R) and the PCW Champion Daniel-San (R) made sure that Tanaka won the Michigan Madness match.

Limbaugh Backstage
The ‘Extreme Innovator of Broadcast Excellence’ Rush Limbaugh discussed the contraceptive issue with PCW Investigative Reporter Woodward Bernstein.  Limbaugh had this to say about Sandra Fluke, a Georgetown Law Student who recently testified that her student health insurance plan should cover contraceptives.

Limbaugh: What does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute.  If we’re going to pay for your contraceptives and thus pay for you to have sex, we want something for it. We want you to post the videos online so we can all watch.

Charlie Blackwell (AmerHeartland) beat Nate of Occupy Wall Street (D)
Nate rode a bicycle to the ring and berated middle class America for not joining their cause and siding with the 1%.  Blackwell came to the ring with his Les Miserables, took a microphone, and launched into a diatribe against the Republicans and Democrats.

Blackwell: …let’s be clear here.  The Republican Establishment are nothing more than a Borg that’s sucking the soul out of the Tea Party and Main Street America.  And the Democrats?  They handed control of their group over to a bunch of irresponsible ideologues who can’t grasp the concept that spending money we don’t have is…irresponsible.

Nate then attacked and lost quickly to Blackwell’s Katahajime submission.  The rest of the O.W.S. then hit the ring but Blackwell’s ‘Les Miserables’ kicked them out.

Pelosi: I’m surprised that Republican leaders haven’t condemned what Rush Limbaugh said, but GOPers would not be able to escape it.  They won’t disassociate themselves from it. They’re tattooed with that.  I wouldn’t want those words repeated in my office.

Olympia Snowe (R-ME)/Bob Kerrey (D-NE)
Snowe meets up with Kerrey backstage.  Snowe, a moderate, tells him she’s retiring.  When Kerrey asks why, she complained that toxic partisan battles have made the PCW Executive Committee unworkable.  Snowe tells him that there’s no longer a place in either the PCW Executive and Competition Committee for ‘committed centrists.’

Kerrey laments that and tells Snowe he’s running for a spot on the PCW Executive Committee.  Snowe asks ‘doesn’t he think he’ll run into the same problem?’

Then Markos Moulitsas (D) of the Daily Kos runs out and he’s none too pleased at Kerrey’s announcement.

Markos: I hope you get carpet bombed. The more Republicans have to fight in places like Nebraska, the less they’ll have to go after Democratic candidates who actually act like Democrats.  And if it turns out you need the help, then too bad. F—- you.

Daniel-San came to the ring all bandaged up claiming injury from his recent CWC match.  The progressives in the crowd absolutely lost it when Axel Rodd came to the ring and acted as if he was Justin Bieber.

Daniel-San played the cowardly heel and it was John Creese and his Cobra Cons do most of the work against Rodd.  Following the Cobra Con beat down, Daniel-San forced Rodd to submit to the Labell Lock.

First we must identify the enemy in the fight to take back our Country. Next, we must be able to get into their heads, think the way they think in order to formulate a winning strategy. We are surrounded by those who wish to destroy the America we love.

One of the greatest military strategists of all times was Chief Joseph a Nez Perce American Indian. His greatest treasure was a copy of the New Testament given to him by his father, Old Joseph. Chief Joseph did attend Christian Schools, but his mentor was his father. He was taught to treat all men as they treated him; never be the first to break a bargain and that it was a disgrace to lie; only the truth should be spoken.

He developed his generalship by observing those who were fighting against him; he studied his enemy excelling as a military strategist. He fought for his people’s freedoms and rights; Chief Joseph said, “Let me be a free man — free to travel, free to stop, free to work, free to trade where I choose, free to choose my own teachers, free to follow the religion of my fathers, free to think and talk and act for myself.

Americans are facing the same problems that Chief Joseph faced and it’s our job to defeat the enemy because they are taking our Country from us. We must fight for limited Government, secure borders, freedom of speech, our Military, our 2nd Amendment and our children and grandchildren.

What do our enemies have in common, what are their weapons of choice, what are their weaknesses and who are their real leaders, the strategists and the workabees (troops)?

Like their Commander in Chief, they’re all Sociopaths having little concern for others lying incessantly to get their selfish way. They don’t have respect for others feelings or concerns; they use their social skills to manipulate others in order to reach their goals of a “New World Order.” Like Obama many of them are suave, charismatic and well- educated.

Other like Chris Matthews, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Reverend Wright, Nancy Pelosi and Maxine Waters lack charisma and appeal, but make up for their obvious flaws via their uncanny ability to dominate and control others.

Their weapon of choice is the “Almighty dollar;” they believe everything and everyone has a price on their head. They are unable to have an intelligent civil discussion so they utilize the blame card, the race card, the Church card, the Bush card and of course the Republican card in an effort to distract, disrupt and confuse their opponents. Their mission is to distract and divide.

Their most powerful ammunition is their reedited, regurgitated information – it all comes from the same can written by one person or a select group. They use the same mode of operation as the advertising agencies – lie, repeat the lie and keep repeating it until people start to believe it. Joseph Goebbels, Hitler’s propagandist, (apocryphally) said, “If you repeat a lie often enough, people are bound to start believing it.”

Their greatest weakness is this; they are incapable of distinguishing right from wrong believing the “ends justifies the means.” They have been brainwashed since childhood by leaders like Saul Alinsky, Ayers, Cloward Piven, Cloward – Piven, Reverend Wright and other Marxists and Communists from the 60’s and before. They’re robotic in nature incapable of functioning or thinking on their own.

The Liberal News Media, the Unions, some special interest groups, Soros organizations and Obama’s cabinet and Czars are the workabees – these are the people that tell the lies, repeat the lies and keep repeating the lies until people start to believe it.

The odds are 31% are incapable of changing but there are 69% out there who deserve to know the truth and that will be our job the remainder of 2012. We must replace those holding office who are actively trying to destroy our Nation and forcing a false ideology on our children and grandchildren. Most of all we must ask “God” for wisdom and spiritual guidance in this fight to “Take Back Our Country America (T B O C A.)

The Catholic hierarchy is stirring, is aroused, and is now on the march.  From the highest ranking, Archbishop Timothy Dolan, President of the U.S. Conferences of Bishops, to the Bishop in Harrisburg, to the Pastor of the Church in York, Pennsylvania.  The Catholics are coming.

Absent from the battlefield during the final months of the Obamacare debate over two years ago as conservatives warned that the pro-infanticide forces of the Obama White House and Reid-Pelosi Congress would use the power they were giving anti-life federal bureaucrats to force this policy on the Catholic Church and even to force Catholics to pay for it, this most incredible power grab took place without any denunciations from Catholic Church leaders.  The Catholic Church offered not even mild dissent as supposed Catholics like then House Leader Nancy Pelosi and Pennsylvania’s U.S. Senator Robert P. Casey voted to not only legalize murder of infants but to also give the power to let bureaucrats force Catholics to pay for it.

The Catholics, we were told, had been promised that there would be a “conscientious objector” proviso that would allow them to “opt out.”

But now, as The Very Left Rev. Jeremiah Wright, President Obama’s former Pastor once said, “the pigeons are coming home to roost.”

Two years after passage of ObamaCare, an explicit promise was made by President Obama himself to the President of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.   The Catholics were promised they would be allowed to have a “conscience” clause to exempt them from the onerous, burdensome and reprehensible new policy.

Three months later, the promise was cancelled as President Obama’s Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius used the powers given to her by this unconstitutional power grab to issue a new edict.  On February 10, Sebelious said that the Administration will force the Church and its institutions – such as hospitals, schools and the social services it provides (ie. food pantries, adoption services, etc.) – to carry anti-life insurance and pay for what they call “contraceptive rights.”

In plain English, that means free contraceptives, free sterilizations, free “morning after” (ie. abortion) pills. – trampling on some of the most sacred, longest held and consistent teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.

The Obama Administration knew that on “the right to have contraception” and the “free birth control for all” issues they had a winner among the leftwing and freeloader classes they are looking to mobilize with issues such as this.  And, the Catholics, well, they “rolled over” during the ObamaCare debate so why worry?  As they have said endlessly since the new policy was announced, “99 percent ” of the Catholics are on their side against their own priests and bishops.

This may be a serious miscalculation.  Angry priests have taken to the pulpit to defend their teachings from this assault which is exactly what the First Amendment prohibits – the government forcing a religion on the entire country, in this case, the religion that says infanticide is OK and forcing those who dissent, to pay for it.

The Diocese of Harrisburg for example, states clearly on their website, that they are being forced to help distribute and even pay for “life threatening drugs and procedures” (http://www.hbgdiocese.org/default.aspx?PageID=23981c68-0d7d-43d1-9b48-6e6a0680fb36).

The Catholics are calling upon their flock to demand passage of “Respect for Rights of Conscience Act” currently before Congress (HR 1179 and S1467).

But more ominously – for the reelection prospects of President Obama, Pennsylvania’s Catholic Senator Robert P. Casey and many other Democrat Senators and Congressmen across America, the Catholics are calling upon their flock to register to vote, and to vote for people who will reverse this anti-life, infanticide policy.

We have a detailed report about one of so very many Parish priests across America who are speaking from the pulpit at Sunday mass “the most forcefully, cogently, courageously, enthusiastically and correctly that I have ever heard him speak in over 6 years of listening to his homilies” said the parishioner who gave us this report from St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in York, PA after listening this past Sunday to the third such homily since the federal dictate last month.   He said he’s never been prouder to be a Catholic after hearing a letter from the Bishop read a few weeks ago, and the three homilies of Father Samuel E. Houser, Pastor of St. Patrick’s Church, York, PA.

I suggested that there will be dissenting voices warning against this stand, from the voices of moderation and compromise both within the Church and from its outside critics.  I asked that parishioner, won’t the Catholic fans of President Obama, and his supporter in Pennsylvania, U.S. Senator Bob Casey, make them tone it down in time for President Obama and Senator Casey to win reelection?

Not a chance, the parishioner said the flock was told at this Sunday mass.  Father Houser said in his homily – pausing to read headlines from several newspaper clips – that he could see President Obama was bolstered by poll results of what was called “GOP opposition to his contraceptive position.”  He knew that Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi – his actual words – “continues to speak as if she represents the Pope in Rome.  She does not.  She should be excommunicated.  She is an outrage.”

Father Houser stunned his parish with these strong words, and went on to say that he felt terrible for the families of U.S. servicemen who courageously serve this nation at risk of their lives, when they see their Commander in Chief out there apologizing most abjectly to the very people who kill them, so sensitive and not wishing to offend these terrorists.  But then the families of these servicemen see here in the United States, a policy such as this one and they ask, what about us, what about what he is doing to us in the Catholic Church who dissent from his policy?  Where is his sensitivity for OUR religious beliefs?”

We were promised, reminded Father Houser, that there would be a conscience exemption so that those who didn’t agree with this “life threatening” policy could be exempted.  President Obama broke his promise, thundered Father Houser.  Now the fines they will impose on us for violating their ruling, he explained, will force us to either be bankrupted or to withdraw our services.  “Is that their goal” asked Father Houser – to put us out of business one way or the other way?

“We cannot give in” thundered Father Houser.  Our Bishop in Harrisburg spoke to Catholic Senator Casey about this, about his support for this policy, reported Father Houser.  He is in favor of this, he continued.  He continues to say he is Catholic.  But he is for this policy even after the effect on us was explained to him – a policy that forces us to violate our policy on life, forces us to pay for this, looks the other way as children have children.  (note: when exact quotes are cited it is because the exact words were written down by the parishioner, versus notes referencing the content of the homily).

Father Houser challenged his flock – and this is being repeated in parishes all over America – to register to vote, and to vote.  That is what the politicians understand, that is what will make them hear us.

Father Houser said he had the voter registration forms in the Church, and he hoped we run out so he would go and get more.  Register.  And vote.  And this writer suggests one more thing you can do Dear Reader – write to Fr. Houser and THANK HIM for his firm stand, SamuelHouser@yahoo.com.

The earlier homilies of Father Houser emphasized the need to contact our elected officials and in the Church Bulletin he put the names and contact information for our elected officials, from President to Senators to Congressman.  Since the Feb. 10 “edict” that has not changed the policy so now, it is a matter of register and promise to vote.  Will Father Houser and the Catholics get more explicit as this election year goes on?  I suspect they will.  I’d bet on it.

Thou art Peter (rock), said Jesus to the first Pope, and in giving him – and all of us – our orders to stand up for what is right and He promised most clearly, “the gates of hell shall not prevail against you.”

Those gates – the symbol of the authority and power of a city-state from which sally forth their troops to conquer – will not prevail.  It is the direct and specific promise of Jesus Christ, in whose redeeming and blessed Name we pray for Father Houser and for all the priests and bishops and ministers and rabbis of all denominations and faiths, stand fast.  If you do, then in this year 2012 as in the centuries since the promise was made, The gates of hell will not prevail against you.

This particular one is not really obnoxious, but some of them have really reached for the acronym – started to get really pushed through last year, once it came out that Members of Congress, including then-Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, were profiting unduly from legal insider trading*. I call it ‘legal’ not in the sense that there was nothing wrong with said insider trading; I call it ‘legal’ because Congress exempted itself from the rules that the rest of us have to follow. The distinction is important. It’s perfectly legal for, say, Senator Dianne Feinstein to buy into a biostock company just before the company picks up a fat government subsidy check, even if she knew about it ahead of time. That’s the problem.

Anyway, one of the more egregious things being done – again, involving then-Speaker Pelosi in at least one case – was the practice of offering Members of Congress a favorable position from which to buy into an IPO. Pelosi in particular used this practice to buy into a Visa IPO, right before credit card legislation that hampered Visa got somehow sidetracked in Congress for a year; she ended up making a killing on the (again, ‘LEGAL’) deal. And, naturally, the amendment that would ban this practice in the future has been named the ‘Pelosi Provision’ by Republicans. By all accounts, the former Speaker is unhappy about this; I am uncertain whether or not that she is as unhappy about this as I am that the woman made several million unfortunately-legal dollars off of her former position to manipulate and delay legislation, but I somehow doubt it.

We have been carefully and closely watching this election cycle and have determined that these candidates are simply one size fits all and are replaceable.

Last cycle, the conventional wisdom on races flew out the window with blue states turning red and red states that were on the fence staying red… driven mostly by tea party folks lining up at the ballot boxes in record numbers.

Massachusetts, Ted Kennedy stomping grounds, went red as did Illinois (Obama’s back yard) against strong odds.

As we turn our sights to this cycle, and recognizing the above with the successful – Fired Pelosi effort – we must now focus on Firing Harry Reid.

The pinnacle of all Senate seats, is none other than, Wisconsin. The Governor is facing recall and we may have seen the nation’s greatest civil demonstration, whether one agrees or not, this past year in Madison. As such, all eyes are on Wisconsin.

We have seen Governor Thompson get a luke warm response, or cold shower, from the party faithful and have seen others make noise about running.

Eric Hovde, seems to be the flavor of the month. A child of privilege, he inherited a family fortune and after college, has lived in Washington, DC for years. Until now, when recently returning. I’m a proud citizen of the badger state and their is no question, his family’s wealth spawns the state. He is the Republican’s answer to a Kennedy. However, what strikes me as peculiar is his charitable efforts overseas, and his lack of charitable prowess in his native state, during what many working families are considering dire circumstances.

With the clout of the conservative movement on fire, we need to use caution in viewing those of privilege as the answer.

My neighbors might be the guys who help make a part for a luxury car, or have farms that make cheese proudly, there is no question, Eric is someone who buys luxury cars and who eats cheese at his wine and cheese cocktail parties in DC and well, that frightens me. That spells defeat for us anxiously wishing to turn Wisconsin Red & Fire Reid!

For those who’d prefer Ms. Baldwin score the seat for Mr. Reid, then support people like Eric. We need real leaders, not those who dash in and spend money to buy a seat.

I encourage all of us to do our homework and to take a closer look. We have no room for error, the stakes are far too high.
