Separation of Church and State, again


Yet again we must have this discussion due to current affairs  

 Fundamental to our nation, as written in our state Constitution by John Adams, second president of the United States who drafted our State Constitution, “As the happiness of a people, and the good order and preservation of civil government, essentially depend upon piety, religion and morality; and as these cannot be generally diffused through a community, but by the institution of the public worship of God….” “The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were the general principles of Christianity. I will avow that I then believed, and now believe, that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God.” Our Government fundamentally depends upon morality, which our society is based on, the fabric of our society, the conscience of people and not the government forcing morality on the people.

Thomas Jefferson, third president of the United States, “It is inconsistent with the spirit of our laws and Constitution to force tender consciences.” James Madison, fourth president of the United States affirmed, “Government is instituted to protect property of every sort – conscience is the most sacred of all property.” Thomas Jefferson, third president of the United States, “In matters of religion, I have considered that its free exercise is placed by the constitution independent of the powers of the general government. I have therefore undertaken, on no occasion, to prescribe the religious exercises suited to it; but have left them, as the constitution found them, under the direction and discipline of state or church authorities acknowledged by the several religious societies.” As Jefferson so described this as a “wall” or “fence” preventing the “establishment of a particular form of Christianity” by any one denomination and to promote the “free exercise of religion” everywhere. Fundamental to our nation is the protection of religion and the promotion of religion so stated by the founding fathers of this nation.

James Madison wrote, “Do not separate text from historical background. If you do, you will have perverted and subverted the Constitution, which can only end in a distorted, bastardized form of illegitimate government.” The founding fathers of this nation established laws to prevent a situation we Declared Independence from, a Church of England wherein the government established its own Church to force conscience. This must not be misconstrued as an absolute “Wall of Separation” or absolute “Separation of Church and State.” Christianity from its Jewish roots, the many Councils and Creeds divided amongst lesser divine, moral laxity, financial corruption and many reformations should be all inclusive in intent no matter what you call your self. From Anglicanism to Catholic to Methodists to Presbyterianism and so on, Christianity should not be divided but seen as a binding morality of this nation. With this, there must be protection of individual conscience and we are not forced to worship one narrative from the State. Of most concern must be the protection of our founding values of individual conscience, public government fundamentally depends upon morality of the people and not the national government forcing morality on the people.

George Washington first president of the United States from the Original Manuscript, “While we are zealously performing the duties of good Citizens and soldiers we certainly ought not to be inattentive to the higher duties of Religion. To the distinguished Character of Patriot, it should be our highest Glory to add the more distinguished Character of Christian. The signal Instances of providential Goodness which we have experienced and which have now almost crowned our labours with complete Success, demand from us in a peculiar manner the warmest returns of Gratitude and Piety to the Supreme Author of all Good.”

 Of current affairs, although observations are subjective connections become a concern when in the absence of one is replaced with another. Wherein they erect a “peace pole” to worship at my towns school and wherein the principal was a devout Alinsky democrat radical with “ridicule is you most potent weapon.” Thereof a young schoolgirl recently commits suicide bullied to death. Where they teach our children to report their parents if they do not follow their “Green” convictions has become the norm.

Pavel Stroilov on socialism; “Nazism was more direct in its reliance on brute physical force. It was also totalitarian, but it was a mere shadow of communism. Communism poisons the whole fabric of the society. It deliberately makes everyone an accomplice to its crimes. It teaches children to report on their parents to the secret police. It destroys all the links on which the society is based. But in the aftermath, the only way to recover is to rethink what you’ve been through. It requires a very painful process of – I don’t really want to bring religion into this, but the only correct word I can find – repentance. You have to realise, you have no one to blame but yourself. You have to condemn your past and reject it. Then, and only then, you can try and re-build your civilisation from ruins.” Our dependence upon individual piety, religion and morality prevents this Socialist perversion and also may be our only salvation.

We must turn to history for possible examples of corruption of individual conscience by the government and the true magnitude that is possible. Socialism, Mao’s “Great Leap Forward” with some reports over forty million deaths, mostly woman and children starving to death. Socialism, Bolsheviks with some reports over thirty million deaths, mostly woman and children starving to death. Socialism, Nazism needs no explanation and the examples continue. This is indeed a “slippery slope” and what is at the bottom should convince everyone not to step in this direction. Yet here we are again with some on the right trying to marginalize the “social conservative” and those on the left trying desperately to push us closer to the edge. Those on the left are only looking for one more step, from removing God from our schools and pushing mandates to force tender consciences. This must not be ignored and past distortions and bastardization of our form of government must be undone.         

 


Why we fight the red herring


Left wing academics cum politicians are great at the art of misdirection and Obama is nothing if not an academic/politician – a poor one, but one nonetheless.

So why do so many voters keep on believing him?  He would dispute it, but his contention that, say, The Heritage Foundation is only concerned about tax cuts for the rich is right out of the Communist Manifesto.  He believes conservative think tanks, as well as conservatives in general, do not care about “the working  class.”  Surprise, he is not a member of “the working class.”  He aspires, consciously or not, to the ruling class and I’ll tell you why.

Whatever one thinks about the Heritage Foundation, we need the rich.  We like the rich.  We want tax cuts for the rich.  The rich provide jobs, investment and opportunity for us.  Our economy now is in dismal shape due almost entirely to Obama’s war on “the rich” combined with misguided attempts to make the housing market “fair.”  Meanwhile, “the rich,” are simply sitting on investment money until a more favorable economic (read political) climate comes along.  The reason Obama doesn’t care about the rich (and indeed is free to vilify them) is that he is paid with the tax money which is extorted from taxpayers at the point of an IRS gun and has been all of his adult life.  He has no conception of earning an honest living.  Probably half of “the working  class” does not pay taxes now anyway.  It’s the “wealth creating class” that pays most of the taxes, but that could soon end.

Consider, if we took EVRYTHING the rich has, not just their “obscene profits” as Obama would put it, but ALL of their assets, together the sum would not run the federal government for a year.  That is precisely what the old Soviet Union did in the name of Marxist “equality.”  They either killed or ran off all the rich people in a vainglorious “class struggle” to protect “the proletariat” and guess what happened?  Breadlines, gulags, block watchers, warrantless raids by the state police and KGB murder for seventy years.

No, brother, there is no guarantee that the U.S. must be rich and prosperous.  We could easily be as poor as Biafra and we WILL be if we continue to listen to political/academic eggheads like Obama.  He sees everything  as a function of top down “fairness”, but the market does not work that way.  It can indeed appear very unfair.  No system operated by man will ever be completely “fair,” however.   But rewards (note: not “privileges”) earned (note: not ”distributed”) through market capitalism are provided by the most fair of all economic processes.  It generally, though not always, rewards merit, industry, frugality, sobriety, maturity and persistence.  Big government and high taxes are the enemy of “the working class” far more than some mythical entity known as “the rich.”  Most folks who occupy the top quintile of wealth in this country have earned their way up.  If you want to get down to it, the six wealthiest Congresspersons are Democrats and most of them inherited or married their wealth, think John Kerry, Jay Rockefeller, Mark Warner, Diane Feinstein, the Kennedy clan, etc.  The liberal rich give away a far smaller percentage of their income than do wealthy
conservatives.  So much for the vaunted liberal claim to “compassion.”  As the old saying goes, I never got a job from a poor person.

The government does not have any money.  Yes, it prints money, but it has no wealth creation capacity of its own.  It can hinder or enhance wealth production, but in and of itself it is just a giant drag on the economy, that is, beyond its Constitutional mandates for defending the country, securing its borders, regulating interstate commerce, enforcing contracts and whatnot, most of which it does poorly.  In fact, a preponderance of what the government does nowadays in unconstitutional and unlawful.  Remember, every pencil used by the government, every pointy-headed professor hired by state universities (the vast majority of whom are liberals: sheesh, talk about “unfair”), every car used by the government, every toilet seat, every scrap of paper discarded by some government flunky comes directly out of and is paid for directly by the private sector.  Except for the Constitutional caveats mentioned, you can think of the government as pure debt (and much waste, fraud and abuse.)

And while we are at it, public employee unions should be banned forthwith as well.  The original ban on them was lifted by JFK and as you can see, government has metastasized from a group of civil servants into a gang of uncivil masters.  Now, I’m not talking about the individual NASA engineer or the lone school teacher, for the most part, they are just looking for a job or, at worst, in the possible  case of the school teacher, are “useful idiots” as described by Marx.  But there now exists an army of faceless, nameless bureaucrats whose sole purpose in life is demanding that they receive cradle to grave benefits along the line of kings and screaming bloody murder when they don’t get them.  As we’ve seen repeatedly, there exists a scant few felonies for which they will actually be fired.  They can literally kill someone, sit in prison and collect their federal or state salary.  For crying out loud, if you don’t like government service or the way you are being treated – quit.  There is no law saying you MUST work for the government.  Try it in the private sector for a while.  Obviously then, no rational, objective reason exists for government unions, except to soak the taxpayer and gold plate the lives of superfluous bureaucrats.

We simply cannot all work for the government, sell insurance to each other or run restaurants.  Someone has to create wealth and Obama and his crowd are daily killing our ability to do that.  He stopped the Keystone Pipeline; he slowed down domestic drilling in the Gulf (and everywhere else, for that matter); his EPA is closing factories or hamstringing them with redtape as quickly as it can — all without Constitutional authority.  Even prior to the ’08 election, Obama told us the problem with the U.S. Constitution is its failure to include “positive rights,” that is, it does not enumerate the right to healthcare, the right to housing, the right to food, the right to shelter, etc.  And thank God it does not, because if it did, the implication would be that rights come from the state.  And if rights come from the state, they can be taken away by the state.  As mentioned above in relation to the old USSR, when the state starts handing out and taking away “rights,” it soon becomes genocidal.

The American way has always been for individuals and families to care for themselves.  A so-called safety net may seem reasonable for a “rich society,” but such compassion soon becomes a rocking chair for the indolent and a magnet for the fraudulent.  Churches used to fill the gap.  Unfortunately, modern liberals want to do private benevolence the easy way, i.e. by letting unaccountable bureaucracies handle all the dirty work while they themselves munch brie, sip Chablis and feel morally superior to me and thee.

Constant attention to “the rich” is simply a red herring used to distract people from Obama and his government-union/aggrievement-mongering class warfare and subsequent plunder of the wealth producers through confiscatory taxation and crushing regulation.  We will end up with a Soviet/Greek-style economy soon if we don’t wake up, stop vilifying the rich, stop glorifying the poor, start looking after market capitalism and stop listening to the likes of egg-headed Harvard Law Review editors like Obama who never wrote a review or held a private sector job (“guest lecturer” does not count.)

Do you think Religious institutions, exercising their conscience by not having their plans include contraception and the (Morning after) Abortion pill, like their plans the way they are?!?! Obama shows how “If you like your plan, you can keep your plan” is, and always has been; as well as most everything else out of his mouth is; A LIE!

There is something else that everyone is missing here. This is a purposeful, willful, and with malice of fore-thought, a direct attempt to get Religious endeavors TO DROP THEIR PLANS causing countless more Americans to be in that “Public Option,” which was, is, and always has been, their (Liberals) goal. They are moving to complete, outright, Government controlled Socialized Medicine; ObaMAOcare was designed to do this from the outset – to destroy and move people away from Private Health Care Insurance plans to a Government option.

Time and time again, we warned people this was the plan/goal from the outset and so many just buried their head back in the sand – too lazy to pay attention and do any research for themselves, just buying into any and all lies from Liberal/Progressive Democrats about the ObaMAOcare scheme. They have been pushing for this since the 1930′s (long before HilaryCare) and only now under Obama and while they had Democrat control of the House and Senate were they finally able to (do what they couldn’t, but tried, to do under Clinton, and) ram it through.

Shamefully, Mitt Romney continues to struggle on finding the “right message” (response) to the ‘Obama-care is just Romney-care on a National scale’ meme. While there are similarities (Mandate), they are NOT exactly the same. The words Romney, and other Republicans, must be putting forth is the simple truth: Obama-care was designed to DISGUISE itself as a Romney-care clone, but is little more than a Trojan-horse (Wolf, in Romney-care clothing). While it (Obama-care) keeps the facade of “Private Insurance” coverages, countless other pages/sections are designed and in-place to undermine that (“If you like your plan, you can keep your plan”) concept and drive more and more people unto the “Public Option.” Obama-care was/is designed TO FAIL over the long haul, at which time having harmed Private coverage and driven people off their plans onto the Public Option, and usher in the Democrats next calls for out-right and complete 100% Government-run Socialized Medicine.

I have seen many Religious spokespersons asking that we contact our Representatives and ask that “this policy” be “corrected!” THAT IS THE WRONG APPROACH, ALL OF OBAMA-CARE MUST BE REPEALED – that is the correct/only option and course of action that will stop Liberals/Progressives from exerting control over any and all aspects of your Life in the name of Health Care. Our Representatives must STOP trying to tinker around the edges and continue to demand complete repeal – no Republican that offers/promises any less should be supported!

Obama’s mistake was letting this cat out of the bag before this 2012 election. Rest assured, if they cave on the issue now, it will only be to get past the election and to once again push this issue. It’s all about pushing people from Private coverage (by badgering, bullying, regulating into submission, or HC inflation to cause cost prohibition, organizations into dropping their coverages – pushing their people) to the Public Option.

Economic Central Planning is Just Nuts


Occupy Wall Street, Democrats, the Obama administration, Davos, the Communist Party, and various and sundry fans of government have recently gotten on yet another predictable kick about replacing capitalism with some form of highly regulated central planning. When people are free to buy what they want and make what they want, they say, the marketplace goes wild, dogs and cats start living together, the poles melt, glaciers topple into the sea, polar bears float away, banks collapse, hedge funds steal grand-pappy’s Teamsters’ Union pension, and generally a whole boat-load of bad things happen. As an alternative to all of this chaos with people trying to maximize their own happiness, they claim, maybe just maybe we should have the government step in and regulate the amount of happiness that everyone is allowed to have, including controlling manufacturing so that everyone can get exactly as much stuff as they need in order to be happy, no more and no less.

One-World Socialist Order Contest; Obama v. Chavez


Democratic stenographer, Jill Burcum of the official newsletter of The Party, the StarTribune, has invented a little game.  She calls it “Two for Tea, But Who Will Be the One?”  In this little corker, she compares the attributes of the two women the professional Left love to hate, Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann.  Burcum has decided to help out the rest of the lame-brained media with their wholescale attempt to marginalize and demonize the Tea Party and two of its most devouted advocates.  She compares their attributes such as motherhood, resume, and in a fit of snarkiness, each of their most supposedly bad moments through the eyes of the Socialist Workers’ wing of the Democratic Party.

In the spirit of fairness and gamesmanship, I’ve decided to do a similar comparison of two of the professional Left’s favorite leaders; Barack Hussein Obama and Hugo Chavez.  When the One World Socialists take over the world government, only one of them will be able to step into the shoes of the complete control of the masses.  Obviously, between these two leftists, the coming battle will have to be waged.

Control of the Media

Obama isn’t in explicit control, but since 87% of the media are apologists for him and attack dogs of his opposition, he has a de facto control in the United States

Chavez has actually taken physical control of the media including radio.  He can specifically dictate what is reported and how it is framed.

Advantage Chavez, though Obama is a close second with the media filling the enthusiasm gap.

Destroying their Economies

Obama has much to do.  He has placed control of health care and banking into a Fabian model of takeover.  He took over most of the auto industry and runs the rest by default.  He’s cramped the energy industry with his shut down on drilling.  His influence over multinational corporations is so immense, he can call executives to the White House, though they may occasionally act against the best interests of the socialists.

Chavez took over the oil industry, media, and most other sectors of the economy are run by fiat.  He has managed to destroy most of Venezuela’s output, though he’s trying hard.  His problem is his economy is too small to have much of an impact globally.

Advantage Obama, though with China’s economy barrelling forward so furiously, America’s economy will not be as big a factor in the future.

Indoctrinating the Youth

Obama’s biggest allies in this fight are his slavish followers in the teachers’ unions.  They have been having school children sing songs to him, write letters praising him, and figuring out what they can do to help him destroy the American Dream in the future.

Chavez already has an iron grip on the education system.  The songs about him have already been codified and published.

Advantage, neither.  They are both fully and completely in control of reeducating their youth.

World Wide Support

Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize for being, well, Obama.  His apology tours haven’t went as well as he’d like though.  It seems people just don’t respect obsequiousness like they used to.  He can’t seem to get even our friends to bend to his will.  Obama has some work to do with that.

Chavez is not well liked, but he has managed to get the UN to put his representative on important American/Western bashing committees.  Chavez has an advantage being openly socialist because the other socialists can rely on his thuggery and complete control of his country.

Advantage, Chavez because the One World types are scared Obama could bow to the wrong leaders, like those evil capitalists.  He won’t though.  He thoroughly hates anything that has to do with economic freedom or personal liberty.

Control of the Language of Change, er Socialism

Obama’s got the spirit of socialism right.  He reminded Latinos just exactly who their enemies were in the United States.  He has deep command and control of union thugs and their catchphrases.  He is really able to manipulate the language so neither his friends or foes know what the hell he’s talking about, which is important.  You must speak the language of The Other in order to trick them.

Chavez is a bit of a firebrand.  That works to his advantage because then he can bully others into simply giving in to his noise and fury.  But, it seems he cannot move as many in other countries.  He is clearly the superior communicator between the two, but isn’t received quite as well.

Advantage, neither.  They’re both losing out to the opposition in the lower chambers of their respective legislative bodies.  That bodes ill for the One World Socialist cause.  But, they’re fighting back.

As you can see, neither one of these socialists are at a great advantage nor great disadvantage.  Both are bullies.  Both are committed to destruction of freedom and liberty.  Both are really accomplished prevaricators.  I think Obama’s seizure of the United States is a bigger deal.  Though, he never would have done so without the considerable example of Chavez’s work.


Things I never knew about Maxine Waters (that everyone should know)


 

 

Republican candidate Bruce Brown is running against Maxine Waters in California’s 35th District. He has a  document dump on his campaign website outlining much of her corrupt ties. Since I despise socialists I decided to do some digging of my own on Maxine. Up until now I only knew that she was a socialist and that she was being investigated for her role in securing TARP funds for her husband’s bank. What has become clear to me now is that the Lame Stream Media ™ is intentionally ignoring reporting on her because if the average citizen knew the details of her actions and relationships there would be a national movement to unseat her.

There is so much more to this woman than OneUnited scandal. She is a very vocal supporter of corrupt ousted Haitian dictator and Black Liberation Theologist Jean-Bertrand Aristide, She is also closely tied to the organization TransAfrica Forum run by socialist sympathizer Randall Robinson and communist Danny Glover.

I doubt we will ever know the extent of her (and her husband’s) corruption but the picture that is painted when one takes a closer look seems almost treasonous. She clearly believes her constituency to be every African descendant in the Western Hemisphere and not the citizens of the California 35th Congressional District. I have no smoking gun here but it is past time for Maxine Waters actions and allegiances to be more commonly understood. I hope that this brief expose will help educate people on a Congressional Representative whose priorities,I believe, are questionable at best.

My Research on Maxine Waters

Randall Robinsonis the executive director and founder of the organization TransAfrica, which helped to spearhead the movement to influence U.S. policies toward Africa and the Caribbean and helped to lead the fight against apartheid in South Africa. Go here for a lengthy insight into his beliefs from a speech he gave on his book “The Debt: What America Owes to Blacks”. He is also a Cuban sympathizer according to this reprinted article from Maoist International Movement.

“TransAfrica Forum is the oldest and largest African American human rights and social justice advocacy organization promoting diversity and equity in the foreign policy arena and justice for the African World.”

Known Communist Danny Glover is Chairman of the Board of TransAfrica Forum. Glover says the primary goal of the organization “is to promote progressive U.S. policy towards Africa and Diaspora, including the 150 million Afro-descendants who are citizens of countries throughout this hemisphere.”

Robinson’s relationship with Maxine Waters began during the period when she was in the California State Assembly when she was a board member of TransAfrica. She authored legislation divesting California state pension funds from companies doing business with South Africa.

Robinson is also a close personal friend of ousted Haitian dictator Jean-Bertrand Aristide . When Aristide was ousted in 2004, Maxine Waters and Randall Robinson were both in the helicopter with him and on the tarmac when his plane arrived in South Africa.

Sidney Williams, husband of Rep. Maxine Waters, was the U.S. Ambassador to the Bahamas from 1994-1998 appointed by Bill Clinton. Many believe the only reason he got the job was because he is Waters husband. Prior to it he was a Mercedes-Benz dealer in Hollywood and an NFL football player. Information on his time and duties as Ambassador appears virtually non-existent on the interenet but a good outline of Bahamas foreign relations, which is significant with the U.S., can be found here.

Williams also sat on the board of directors of OneUnited Bank, which is the focus of the current ethics investigation on Waters because she and Barney Frank were allegedly responsible for TARP funds being directed to OneUnited.

Waters current CA-35 Republican opponent Bruce Brown says that there is confirmation of Aristide accounts in OneUnited Bank going back to its predecessors” but he cites a Seattle Times article that refers to one of Aristides Generals having an account the Bank of Boston. However, the predecessor of OneUnited was Boston Bank of Commerce so Brown’s allegation needs further scrutiny.

Blogger JoAnneMor has excellent recent exhaustiveresearchon Maxine Waters corruption regarding OneUnited and her ties to Haiti dictator Aristade which is definitely worth reading. She provides links to all of her research, including the portions of articles of which I’ve included at the bottom to give you some background on Aristide’s corruption.Basically he set up set up many shell companies in the US and all over the world to plunder his own country, the most significant one being used to rob Haiti’s telecom industry of its profits via a New Jersey company called IDT, where suits and corruption cases are now pending.

In an article from the socialist/communist Workers World magazine, Maxine Waters at a Wayne State University Law School Auditorium gave a keynote speech on April 8, 2004 called for the return of ousted Haitian President Jean-Bertrand Aristide to the Caribbean nation of Haiti saying “”Let me make it clear. I support President Jean-Bertrand Aristide and the people of Haiti”.

Haiti has elections upcoming on November 28, 2010. Maxine Waters sent a letter to Sec. of State Clinton stating the U.S. should not provide funding for elections that do not “include all eligible political parties and ready access to voting for all Haitians, including the displaced.” Aristide is still active in Haiti politics and is head of the Laval movement that is excluded from the ballot. Waters also sent a similar letter in 2009 to Haiti’s President Preval, which, as JoAnneMor blog points out, may be in violation of the Logan Act which prevents unauthorized US citizen from conducting foreign relations without authority.

Waters introduced “Stop VULTURE Funds Act” (H.R. 2932) which would prevent vulture funds from making excessive profits off of debt cancellation of poor countries. In 2007 her comrade Danny Glover gave congressional testimony regarding vulture funds, and you can read more about TransAfrica’s campaign against it here where they say, in part: “Poor countries that are eligible for debt cancellation are especially vulnerable to Vulture Funds, as the companies often track the debt relief process and then sue a poor country after it has received a windfall of resources thanks to debt cancellation.”

Waters has also called for complete cancellation of all of Haiti’s debt when she introduced the “Debt Relief for Earthquake Recovery in Haiti Act of 2010” (H.R. 4573).

What Actually Motivates the Liberal-Socialists?


 

From a human standpoint, I have often wondered what animates those in the Liberal-Socialist, One-World Government political movement. As an educated adult interested in politics and history and who (like all of us) observes human behavior, I could not see why the Nancy Pelosi’s, the Al Gore’s, and the Ivy League academics would be so driven, even desperate, to control every aspect of our lives. Frankly, it looks like a lot of work to take over the world. So given the difficulty of the task, what would internally propel activist “progressives” to roll out of bed every morning and do what they do, rain or shine, win or lose, for decade after decade?

One view widely held by Conservatives – that Liberal-Socialists are basically evil, thieving, control freaks motivated by a thirst for power – has always seemed inadequate to explain the behavior of so many ‘Lib-Socialist’ politicians, journalists, and educators who vigorously promote invasive government control over individual liberty. There have been, and are today, dictators and tyrants who are indeed wicked and “power-hungry,” but broadly applying these labels to all the thinkers, leaders, and activists in the Lib-Socialist movement would be a clear mischaracterization.  For instance, one could not objectively place liberal politicians like the late Paul Wellstone or Dennis Kucinich or the quirky and determined Nancy Pelosi in the same category as Hitler, Stalin, and Mao. So aside from megalomaniacal impulses, there is likely some other kind of instinctive force driving many Liberal-Socialists.

Recently, while listening to Glenn Beck on the radio, another explanation for Lib-Socialist behavior came to me. As Mr. Beck described the plans by socialists like George Soros and Maurice Strong to create a global government to manage the earth’s resources and our collective wealth, it seemed that a simple combination of human fear and pride might be the real impetus for the actions of many on the Left. The fear seems to be rooted in the instinctive desire for self-preservation and the preservation of one’s offspring. The pride is the ugly, self-righteous variety found in those convinced of their own moral and intellectual superiority, as compared to others. An innately human mixture of fear and pride, rather than a raw “need to control,” could explain why many Lib-Socialists are so relentless in their crusading, so desperate for action, and so certain their course is the only correct one.

Regarding fear, “true believers” among Lib-Socialist-Progressives and One-Worlders are firmly convinced that, left unchecked, human activity will soon cause unrepairable damage to the environment and a permanent shortage of natural resources; circumstances which will result in extensive loss of life by starvation and disease or natural disaster. Most of us, if filled with a gut-level fear for their lives, would naturally be driven to take power where we could in order to save ourselves. (A madman is taking our speeding bus toward a cliff and someone sane has GOT to take the wheel! ) Thus, an hysterical fear of approaching doom might explain the otherwise outlandish and hurtful measures sought by the Left, including:

1) Population control through abortion, sterilization, and family size limits.

2) Heavy taxation of the world’s most productive economies and the slashing of energy usage as a means to ration our “extremely limited” resources (i.e. the net result of Lib-Socialist ‘recycle & renew’ and ‘global warming’ fixations).

3) International wealth redistribution, total disarmament, and “dialogue” with any and all adversaries; all to avoid the “waste of resources” associated with armed conflict and post-conflict reconstruction.

4) The elimination of individual freedoms and, through “educational” methods, all independent thought.

For Al Gore and the vast number of Lib-Socialist One-Worlders, Earth is an oh-so fragile lifeboat, adrift in a vast ocean, occupied mostly by clueless humans recklessly squandering the last of our food, water, land, and energy reserves. Paradoxically, given their faith in Human Intellect, many on the Left seem truly afraid that no solutions to energy or food shortages could ever be found. (And forget about humans becoming a space-faring people that would colonize other planets. Too many resources are required to travel through space!) In contrast, Non-Socialists are not generally seized with such fears, but believe that free-market, limited-government methods will allow us to utilize our vast but finite resources in ways that safe-guard human life today and provide for our offspring for generations to come.

Regarding pride, Liberal-Socialists seem to have an abundant supply. (One could say it’s a renewable resource.)  Unfortunately, an abundance of self-righteous pride exists in many Lib-Socialists, producing in them an unwavering confidence in their own (supposed) intellectual superiority.  This further explains:

1) Why Lib-Socialists seem convinced only they are clever enough to comprehend the magnitude of our resource crisis and find correct solutions – the unenlightened masses, by comparison, are blind and dumb.

2) Why Lib-Socialists believe they can properly structure all civilization, and must do so on our behalf, in order to administer our “dwindling resources” and guide our Earth-ship to safe harbor.

3) Why Lib-Socialists find it acceptable to consciously confuse and deceive or blatantly lie in order to amass power and achieve their ends; their view being that the witless masses, incapable of self-regulation, pose an immediate threat to the remaining resources.

4) Why Speaker Pelosi believes she has the ability “… to save the planet.”

In short, many in the Lib-Socialist-Progressive movement are perhaps driven more by simple human fear and pride than by a focused “quest for power.” Given the ‘earth as lifeboat’ mindset, many Liberal-Socialists deeply fear the imminent loss of earth’s life-sustaining natural resources.  They are thus driven by a self-preservation instinct to obtain the power to ration what precious few resources they believe remain.  This motivating fear, coupled with a prideful certitude in their imagined superior ability to manage and control, further compels Liberal-Socialists to behave as though they belong to a kind of Guardian Class – one which is able to save both our planet from desolation and the rest of us from ourselves.


Health Care, “Battle Of The Bulge”


We are at war and I am not talking about just Afghanistan. The war we are fighting is not on foreign soil, nor claims the lives of brave American soldiers who fight to defend our freedom. This war is on our own soil and though not a single shot has been fired has the potential, if lost, of devastating our country more than many wars in which we have fought before.

The war we are fighting is waged by protest, phone calls and e-mail as we the people of The United States take a stand against the tyrannical take over of our health care by Barack Obama and the leadership of the Congress. This one issue alone has consumed all of the air in Washington DC. It has taken most of the time and effort of the Congress and the President.

Though low on the list of priorities with most of the American people it is the subject of many conversations and consumes more than half of news coverage. This one issue has the potential of taking away a considerable amount of freedom from every American eliminating much of the choice that we have in determining our personal health care as government becomes the intermediary in all of our lives over delicate and costly decisions about our health.

It also, because of the socialistic nature of this attempt to take over such a large portion of our Nations economy, has the ability of opening a flood gate of similar government intrusions which would hasten a decline into a socialistic form of government and this too is one of the main reasons that the people of this country are coming out in droves to fight against this massive government entitlement.

Those who are in power in Washington from the President to the leadership in Congress have made it clear that the voice of the people does not matter in this issue of health care and whether we like it or not they plan to force this debacle down our throats. The only saving grace to this point is that some in Congress still think our voice matters whether it is a sincere concern for the people or just to save their political hide in an election year.

Additionally there are enough greedy members of Congress who will not vote unless they receive a significant kick back or bribe to gain that vote. So whether sincere concern or just plain greed by our, “Representatives,” this, “bill,” would have passed last August were in not for the anger and protest of the people. In the course of this war we have won several battles from either pressure that our protest and contact has made on Congress or the result of elections such as the Massachusetts Senate seat which Scott Brown won.

So where then do we stand in out fight for our freedom and to prevent this massive socialist take over of our health care and our country? We find ourselves facing a relentless foe in Obama and Congressional leadership in this fight who have made it obvious that they will stop at nothing to pass this nightmare. So how do we stand and what must we do now ?

If I were to make an analogy using a military example it would be the WWII battle which became known as the Battle of the Bulge. After Allied forces landed on the Normandy Beaches in the Summer of 1944 and broke out of the hedge row country the Allied advance moved like a juggernaut in defeating the German Army and driving them back into Germany, liberating much of Europe in the process.

Much of the Allied force in December of 1944 thought that the Germans were nearing total defeat, in fact many believed that the war could very well be over by Christmas. A general lull in fighting had taken place as a harsh winter had set in and the Allied forces and German forces faced each other in a line that basically followed the border of Germany. As Christmas approached many in the Allied forces were content to sit our the winter and await a German surrender.

The Germans though had not given up and on December 16, 1944 began a massive offensive in the Ardennes Mountains of Belgium catching the Allies by surprise and driving forces in a head long advance which pushed Allies back and over the course of nearly a month nearly brought victory for the Germans which would have extended the war to give time for Germany to deploy a great deal of advanced weaponry under development at the time that very well could have changed the out come of the war.

We who oppose the massive health care take over are facing our Battle of the Bulge. We have won many victories in preventing this debacle from passing. In fact it had seemed that health care would die a slow death as legislation because of the defeats it had received prior to this last push and many thought that we had seen the end of this attempt to take over health care.

But just as the Germans had not given up despite many defeats by the Allies and surprised Allies with a winter offensive in the Ardennes, Barack Obama and the Congressional leadership are making a Battle of the Bulge desperation offensive which, if won, will open the door to not only take over of our health care but possibly passage of other such disasters as Cap and Trade BEFORE we have opportunity to force a change in Congress in the November election.

We are learning just as the Allies did in December of 1944 that we face a relentless foe who will stop at nothing to achieve victory. And just like the Allies who temporarily were pushed back by the relentless onslaught, we must draw the line and stand true and strong in defeating this foe finally and completely. If health care fails there will not be the political will by Democrats in Congress to try and force through the rest of Obama’s agenda. Though Pelosi and Reid may try, Congressional Democrats will not be willing to stick out their necks for any other agenda items like Cap and Trade in an election year.

That is why we cannot slow in our cause nor waver in our determination to defeat this socialistic move. We have e-mailed, burned up the phone lines and protested until many may have come to the conclusion that it is useless to continue since we seem to be ignored. But remember it is ONLY our stand that has prevented this from passing seven months ago and it is that same stand that can prevent this new offensive from succeeding.

In WWII at the Battle of the Bulge American forces committed 800,000 men to stopping the German advance and lost 19,000 soldiers preventing the advance form obtaining the German goal of extending the war to give time for their new weaponry to hit the battle field. The Battle of the Bulge became largest and bloodiest battle Americans faced in the European Theatre in WWII.

We face our toughest battle against health care in the coming days as Obama and Democrat leadership are pulling out all the stops to force this through and down our throats. Attempts to create unconstitutional rules and maneuvering have already been attempted and the deception and maneuvering will only increase as the date for the vote draws closer. It will only be through our renewed determination and commitment of every resource available to us that we will be able to defeat this latest offensive for health care.

If we had called once a day we must call Congress 10 times a day. If we e-mailed weekly we must e-mail daily. If we protested occasionally we must protest continually. We must commit ourselves to all that it takes to make those whose votes are needed to pass this debacle more afraid of us then they are of the Congressional leadership. We must flood them with our voice until they have no choice but to listen and vote NO. We can win this Battle of the Bulge and bring about the total defeat of the socialistic agenda, but we must fight now and we must fight with more determination than ever before.

Our “Duty” Stated in the Declaration of Independence


As the snow falls today, I think of General George Washington and his men who persevered the most horrid weather conditions to secure this country’s liberty. You see, I live in an area where the battles were fought and fearless, good men died–and even running everyday errands is a reminder of the American Revolution. Sure, each state has its history, especially down in the South, but the reminders I see daily–even in my backyard where a lone white sycamore tree marked the water for our Revolutionary soldiers–affect me in ways I never thought they could.

I began reading the Declaration of Independence–again. But this time, I am looking for direction and guidance from our Founding Fathers. As I read:

IN CONGRESS, JULY 4, 1776
The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America
when in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security. — Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government. The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.

For if we the people were to write this document today, it would not look much different, would it?

The Founders have given the American people all of the information they need. To underscore:
“Deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed” — The consent of the governed is the will of the people.

“That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.” — IT IS THE RIGHT OF THE PEOPLE. Our Founders knew liberty would always be under attack, thus they gave us the ultimate authority to abolish a future oppressive government.

Moreover, the most important directive, yes directive, in the Declaration of Independence is:

“But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.” — It is not only our right to throw off a single-authority, oppressive government, it is our DUTY. A duty is not optional. As Americans, it is our obligation to secure the means for a life of continued liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

Our fearless Founding Fathers, gave the people all of the power and authority. How shall we use it? Shall we listen to our “Fathers” and stand up fearless as they did?

These are not my words, nor directives. They are the Founding Fathers’ directives in spelling out our rightful duties as Americans.
