The link is to a CNN report via hotair about Mitt Romney endorsing John McCain for re-election to the U.S. Senate.
Has he gone mad along with Palin? I liked Palin and Romney but they both just took a major dive in personal popularity for me. John McCain is a BIG part of the GOP’s problem, not the answer! That man has done more to damage Republicans than anyone else so why endorse him? J.D. Hayworth will NOT throw open the borders and legalize anyone who struts across it and he won’t support runaway spending sprees like Johnnie Mac.
I’m sorry, because I already know that some posters at RS will sic on me and tell me I’m wrong but McCain’s record speaks for itself and it isn’t one to be proud of, especially over the past 8-9 years.
I’m so disappointed in Romney, so very disappointed.

There is a simple reason ...
YankeeConservative (Diary) Tuesday, February 23rd at 12:36PM EDT (link)I actually have two points, but (1) the reason that people respect McCain is trust, and record. They don’t always agree with him, but they trust him, believe he has served his country with honor, and is a patriot above and beyond most others (especially in the government,)
But my second point is if you don’t like McCain, I’m very confused why you do like Romney. I understand their differences on the issues, but Romney isnt exactly a small government kind of guy. He did bring MA the horrible Romney-care system, and said in his primary race two years ago that “he loved it.” This leads me to believe if Romney were president, we might see the same thing, even though Romney said he believes “states should do these things.” Well, Romney has said alot of things ….
its easier than that...

acat (Diary) Tuesday, February 23rd at 1:20PM EDT (link)My problem with McCain is that his version of conservatism seems to shift based on the way the wind is blowing.
He’s not reliably socially conservative. Some years, he’s happy to visit Falwell’s university and speak, usually election years; other years he’d rather lead a pitchfork-and-torch mob against them.
He’s not reliably fiscally conservative. He supported the TARP bail-out bundle without strings (requiring responsible financial policies for Fannie and Freddie, forex) and I don’t recall him railing against Turbo Tax Tim Geithner.
McCain isn’t even interested in fair elections – McCain-Feingold did nothing to get money out of politics – it just shuffled the deck chairs around some.
While McCain was arguably not too different from Romney, he was not the best candidate in the 2008 primary.

If you really had a clue about the players it would be obvious.
mbecker908 (Diary) Tuesday, February 23rd at 10:46PM EDT (link)First of all, JD Hayworth is about the worst possible primary candidate. John Shadegg or Jeff Flake would have given McCain a real run and very well could have beaten him. JD won’t get within 30 points.
I’m no mind reader, but if I had to guess, I’d guess that Palin, Romney and Scott Brown are all savvy enough to recognize paragraph one.
