Adios Herman and Good Effing Riddance!

From the very first time I heard Herman Cain speak my BS meter pegged. Subsequently, nothing he said nor the way he said it gave me any confidence that there was any substance behind the grin. His 999 Plan was a bad economic joke and he invoked it like a magic spell. In an sense it was because a lot of people actually took it seriously.

I grew to hate Herman when he played the Race Card against Rick Perry about the rock. Obama 2.0. Then his unorganized series of lies about the sexual harassment claims and his attack on the character of the women was Bill Clinton 2.0.  This highlighted that a lot of his support was coming from rightwingers with white guilt that couldn’t get their ablution from supporting King Barry like the leftwingers did.

Then is ludicrous performance at the editorial board concerning Libya was classic stupidity on display.

Thank goodness his longtime mistress came forward to put the final nail in the coffin that his campaign so richly deserves.

So adios you lying, cheating, shallow, victimized jerk. You had it coming.

An App to Tell You With Which Candidate You Agree the Most

OK, just for fun but you do have to fess up. Me Newt 63% Perry 60% Mitt27%. Pretty much what I expected.

In Response to Leon.

The reason that I’ve chosen to use a diary to respond to Leon’s front page posting is that I believe that my comments encompass concepts that certainly need to be discussed on their own merits.  I believe that the gist of Leon’s position is that insufficient evidence has been presented to allow anyone to arrive at an objective conclusion as to the veracity of the accusers or the strength of their either moral or legal positions.  In this I concur.

It has certainly been demonstrated that people have a wide range of tolerance for moral turpitude exhibited on the part of political leaders.  I will enter Bill Clinton as my Exhibit “A”.  As such, were we to become privy to even the most detailed accounts of the complaints involved and offered ample opportunity to judge the character of the accusers, there would still be a wide range of acceptance or rejection of Cain’s actions which led to these settlements.  Of course, without this information, we are all limited to speculation and conjecture, neither which has any chance of producing a conclusive result.

Consequently, I must take the position that investing in speculation and conjecture to determine the guilt or innocence of the candidate and then, somehow to conflate the guilt, if guilt there be, to making a determination of whether Cain possesses a sufficient degree  morality and self-control to be entrusted with the presidency is really a moot point.

However, Bill Clinton proved that the office of President can certainly be held by a person of alley cat morality.  Subsequently, Obama has proven that the office of President shouldn’t be held by a person who exhibits; a lack of experience, an uneven temperament, a lack of preparation, a lack of judgment in picking competent advisors, a willingness to resort to obfuscation, omission and fabrication, a fragile ego that lashes out when challenged, a narcissistic intensity to blame others for failures, a victim mentality and a willingness to claim racism as the basis for any criticism.

Unfortunately, the events of the last several days have illustrated that Cain can and has exhibited all of these traits in his response to this matter.  Further, Cain has also exhibited these traits in a way that should give any objective observer long pause in considering how he would respond to the multitude of challenges which he would face in a general election.

Because over the next several months Republicans from across the country will be choosing a nominee to do battle with the most unethical person to ever be elected President, it is incumbent upon each of us to make a thoughtful judgment as to the qualities that our nominee must have to overcome a formidable opponent and an unrelenting liberal press.  Personally, regardless of the depth and breadth of the sexual harassment allegations, and regardless if they are ever revealed, Herman Cain has not exhibited the qualities and traits which I think our nominee must possess to win back the White House. As such, I don’t believe he deserves the nomination.

Cain Reminds Me of Jimmy Carter

First, let me make myself clear, I have absolutely no interest in seeing Herman Cain get the nomination. He has shown me nothing but an inarticulate, flip-flopping neophyte who appears to be Romney’s “conservative” stalking horse. Were he to win the election, it would be his first. Anyone who has watched him over the last couple of weeks would have to be greatly concerned that in the general election, the MSM would rip him to shreads in every interview. He would do worse than McCain.

However, Cain has an even more problematical and fundamental flaw. Were he to be elected, he would suffer from the Jimmy Carter, Peanut Farmer Syndrome. For you younger readers, one of Carter’s major problems in office is that the Beltway elites of his own party, both elected and particularly Ivy League educated staff, viewed him a bumpkin, an outsider. Hence “The Peanut Farmer” was a derisive term and sat there to be used to magnify every Carter failure. This same concept was more recently applied in “Bush the Cowboy”.

So now some of you want to send up “Cain the Pizza Guy”? Convince me that our elitist Republican Congressional Leadership, both elected and staff, would spend more than 5 minutes considering anything Cain offered up. Not a frickin’ chance. We need an executive who has dealt with a legislative body. That’s Perry, Romney or Newt. Take your pick but forget Cain. Even if you like his 999 or 909 or what it’s gets marked down to along the way, he would never get it passed.

Are You a Fool?

Here is what I want in a GOP nominee.

1. Proven ability to win elections in tough environments against worthy opponents and raise the money it takes to do that.

2. Executive decision making experience like that of a governor in a major, politically diverse state.

3. Proven conservative credentials both socially and fiscally.

4. Maturity and wisdom that comes from making mistakes and demonstrably learning from them.

5. A faith in my God.

6. A demonstrable understanding of the role of our military in preserving our freedom and extending freedom to others willing to accept it.

7. A respect for this Country and enthusiasm for US exceptionalism.

8. A past that is an open book and reflects a common experience with the majority of Americans.

Now there is one thing I don’t require and that is the ability to answer gotcha questions from snotnose liberals and halfassed opponents in contrived settings without looking like he believes the questioner is an idiot.

Now, there are those of you who rate the last more important than the 8. You are fools.

The Ten Plagues of OBAMAKANEN

Well, I guess we can add earthquakes to the plagues that “Bad Luck Barry” has brought down on the US.  Gee, a 5.9 quake, that should be good to blame the bad economy on for a month or so. One usually has to be a Pharaoh to cause such devastation to one’s own Country. So, I think it is only fair I that list the “TEN PLAGUES OBAMAKANEN”. Please add yours to the list, I’ m sure there are plenty.

1. Earthquakes. First Japan now Washington.

2. The Lice of ACORN.

3. The Spendthrift Twins From Hell, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid.

4. The orally flatulent, Joe Biden.

5. Obamacare.

6. $4,247,000,000,000 of new National Debt in just 945 days

7. The Gun Running, Racist Attorney General, Eric Holder.

8. A tax cheat as the Secretary of the Treasurer.

9. Double Digit Unemployment.

And

10. Michelle “Let them eat peas.” Antoinette, the Blotus FLOTUS

“You have killed us you arrogant bastard!”

In the movie, “The Hunt for Red October”, the climax of the action occurs when a Russian nuclear submarine commander destroys his own submarine with his own torpedo that he fired at the submarine Red October. Just prior to impact, as his junior officer realized their impending doom, his last words to his commander were; “You have killed us you arrogant bastard!”

I suspect that that same phrase is going to be applicable to our own arrogant CiC, Cowboy Barry. A well turned quotation says; “If you strike the King, you must kill him.”, which references a king’s depth and breadth of power enabling him to deal retribution to those who might posses the temerity to attack him should he survive the attack.

Obama, sans any Constitutional authority, at least according to none other than Obama, along with the rather inept leaders of France and the UK, has struck at Gadhafi and, so far, has only managed to be culpable in the killing of his son.  Further, it is problematic that without the intervention of ground forces, that Gadhafi will be killed or deposed. Does anyone want to speculate as to the stomach that France, Britain or us have for introducing ground forces? I think that if I were willing to volunteer for that little expedition, I would find myself flying commercial.

No, the great problem we now face is that Gadhafi, having survived our strike, will deal the type of retribution of which he has proven he is well capable. While he may not posses the weapons commonly perceived of being mass destruction, I can assure you that half a dozen airliners shot from the sky on a given day in Europe and the US, by handheld missiles will wreck economic and psychological destruction of massive proportions. Of course, this depends on two prerequisites.

1. Does Gadhafi have the stomach for killing innocent people on an airliner?  Check.

2. Does he have access to those who would willingly pull the trigger?  Check.

I can only hope I am wrong, though it is irrational to do so.

Wherein Tbone Posits the 2012 Ticket.

So the basic question that must be addressed is the one posed under the grinning picture of George W. Bush “Miss me yet?”. Surprisingly, according to various polls a lot of people do. In fact, when you consider that 10% of all such polling theoretically comes from black voters who are stubbornly clinging to their half-black hero because of his skin tone and another 20% are lunatic liberals who consider John McCain a conservative, a big junk of rational Americans do miss George. I know I would take him back in a heart beat over the America hating, 3 card monte dealer living it up at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. But, GWB ain’t running again, so what’s the point?

Well, (to quote the best President of the 20th Century), the point is that the name “Bush” has undergone an amazing rehabilitation in just two short years. Of course, being followed by a tin pot dictator who makes something called “Jimmy Carter” look like a good idea has helped tremendously. Besides, if King Barry can get more Republicans elected than any man in history, why not another Bush?

Which, of course brings me to the realization that I agree in great part with Rich Lowery that Jeb Bush has become a viable candidate. His arguments, presented in The National Review, can be found here: http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/259099/bush-2012-rich-lowry .

I am happy to leave the heavy lifting of justification to him. Also, I certainly don’t need to rehash the weaknesses of the current field of dreamers.   I am convinced that in retrospect the only good legacy of the 2008 Republican ticket may be the gender blend. As such, I would say that a ticket of Jeb Bush and Michele Bachmann would be a good start to a 16 year Republican run White House.

For those of you lacking my level of political sophistication, the technical, political description for such a ticket would be “That ticket could kick some serious ass”.  And, we do know whose asses we want kicked, now don’t we?

Palin, Romney and Huckabee to Appear at Joint Rally at Texas Stadium!

Just kidding but consider this. Let’s say that it is true and that it was going to cost $20.00 to get in, $15.00 of which the attendee could designate to one of the three candidates. Now, consider that a new ABC News-Washington Post survey says that among Republicans and Republican leaning independents that the split is 21% Huckabee, 19% Palin and 17% Romney.

So, the question is, would the crowd theoretically split that way? As we know, it takes cash in hand and boots on the ground to win an election. So, would any of these three see a disproportionate turnout, compared to the survey, based upon their supporters’ passion, as represented by actually getting off the sofa and dropping $20 bucks?

Now, this discussion is not to be about any of these candidate’s qualifications. We have had plenty of those and if you are going to make a post about a candidate’s qualifications we must consider you an imbecile unable to follow a simple direction. This discussion should be about your perceptions about the depth of support that each of these candidate’s supporters possess and how that translates into cash in hand and, perhaps more importantly, boots on the ground that would contribute to winning the primary.

Barry Should Have Sent George.

European political leaders, having become somewhat callous to the buffoonery of self aggrandized faux royalty over the centuries, seem to have given King Barry the Hopeful a collective salute of universal applicability.  Evidently it was our Three Card Monte, shuck and jive Hustler In Chief that couldn’t find the card with the extra military troops for Afghanistan on the European card table.

It would seem that he should have sent George W. Bush to plead his case.  That way he could continue to blame GWB for his shortcomings.  It looks like Afghanistan is going to turn into Barry’s War for sure.

From TheTimesOnline:

“Barack Obama made an impassioned plea to America’s allies to send more troops to Afghanistan, warning that failure to do so would leave Europe vulnerable to more terrorist atrocities.

But though he continued to dazzle Europeans on his debut international tour, the Continent’s leaders turned their backs on the US President.

Gordon Brown was the only one to offer substantial help. He offered to send several hundred extra British soldiers to provide security during the August election, but even that fell short of the thousands of combat troops that the US was hoping to prise from the Prime Minister.

Obama Must Withdraw for Harboring an Illegal Immigrant

According to this AP Story, Obama’s Aunt has been in the US illegally for 4 years. He has doubtlessly known this as a fact. As an officer of the court, but not counsel for his Aunt, he should be disciplined and he should withdraw as a candidate.

It Is Time For Palin To Ask These Questions.

Because Palin demands MSM attention, she should follow on the Ayers path with asking about Obama’s Columbia records. There is no doubt that he met Ayers at Columbia. How else did he decide to go Chicago?

Ask about his Harvard records. He is hiding something. Expose his education financing relationships.

Ask about his health records. He is hiding something.

Why did he really leave Occidental, one of the best schools in the West, to go to Columbia? Who talked him into that? That is a major change in his life’s course.

It is time Obama started providing answers and they ain’t going to be good ones.

Why John McCain Should Suspend His Campaign

If John McCain wants to win this election he should immediately cease campaigning against Obama and start campaigning against the United States Congress.

Nobody likes Congress. Most people like their own Congresscrook and maybe a Senator or two but they don’t like the rest of them. I like my Congressman, but try as I might, I can certainly see no reason to like the rest of them and I am sure that if all the Representatives and all the Senators fell over dead tomorrow morning, the collective emotion would be similar to the mobs around the guillotines, “it creates a bit of a mess, but they certainly had it coming”.
