From what I understand RP supporters used to have to write in haiku. Maybe a similar rule should be in place for people who use ALL CAPS IN THEIR HEADLINES AND DO IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN BECAUSE ALL CAPS IS SOOOOO COOL AND IT MAKES MY POINT SO SUPER AWESOME AND ISN’T ANNOYING AT ALL! SEE HOW MUCH MORE CONVINCING I AM NOW THAT EVERYTHING IS CAPITALIZED AND IT FEELS LIKE YOU’RE BEING SCREAMED AT!

you’re a complete moron. You’re probably that guy at the family reunion that starts babbling about stuff like this while everyone stares akwardly. I’m sure Ron Paul is anti-Israel. That’s probably why he was one of the ONLY members of congress to defend Israels when Republicans and Democrats were condeming Israel for taking out it’s enemies missile sites. You continuosly post quotes from supposed Ron Paul supporters that don’t even back up what you are saying, and are irrelevant because they don’t speak for Ron. Also pretty sure that most of our foreign aid goes to enemies of Israel genius, so cutting off all aid is a net win for them. Not to mention Netanyahu agrees with Ron. God you’re dumb, you’ve found the right place here at redstate. Where irrelevance in the political world and Paul derangement syndrome reign supreme. I’ll be thinking of you when Paul wins Iowa Jan 3rd.

The polls in a primary are generally much less reliable than an actual election poll. This is of course because at the last minute voters realize their candidate is too far behind and jump to a top one or two. When we couple that dynamic with the poor economy Gingrich not only gets those votes, he also gets the “It’s the economy!” votes as well. At the end of the day this is not only what will decide the GOP primary, but the election as well.

    Watch that ad carefully.

Careful editing has stopped each sound bite just as one might say, “But…”

“Career politician selling access”? Or consulting? There is a difference. Where is the proof of this charge?

Net worth figures? Maybe proves something, but where is RP’s money coming from? He must have a lot to waste, judging by what he spends on his impossible campaign.

Scarboro: “He made 100 million dollars….” Really? I thought his net worth was $7.5 million. Why are we supposed to hold an ability to earn money against him? Did he earn it illegally?

“Received ‘up to’ 1.8 million form Freddie Mac just before it collapsed.” Who did? Why? Legal or illegal.

“His think tank’s got 37 million bucks from the health care industry….” Are they not in business to provide advice for a fee?

84 ethics charges? 83 of them thrown out, and the final one was only ridiculous, not ethically serious.

He’s been on both sides of issues? So have I. Anybody who thinks about issues over time will find that their positions change with added information and changed circumstances. Just ask a lawyer. There’s a handy one in the White House.

I won’t speak ill of the dead, so I’ll hold further comments about the wisdom of airing ads like this in a cause that will go nowhere outside of Iowa and may not even gain real traction there.

It looks like Ron Paul might end up hitting Newt with a new line of attack. It seems like it is making waves and might gain traction…

Paul is currently sitting in the number two and three spots in some state polling. I will never give this idiot, kook, or old fart bag any credit for whatever he says about any of the candidates, and I wish you would not do that either. It does absolutely nothing to help Perry, and just incites his own base to pimp him even more.

I am appreciative that many conservative sites are now finally looking at doing some real vetting on this now considered top-tier candidate. He obviously has skated until now, but start reading around about his horribly prejudiced past.

      • conservativecurmudgeon

“There was glee in the (Bush) White House on 9-11″. Ron Paul actually said this last week to Megan Kelly on Fox News. I think anyone older than, say, twelve, well remembers the Bush White House that horrible September day, and there was definitely no glee to be evidenced anywhere then, or for many, many months to come.

I think this single quote is the most outrageous statement of ANY modern political candidate for president– and, that would include all of those made by Lloyd Bentsen in 1988, Gary Hart in 1984, and Governor Moonbeam in 1976.

This single statement ought to automatically disqualify this outrageous, anti-Semitic, neo-confederist crackpot. Boy, the fact that “Doctor” Paul is cracking the top tier in any poll tells you how desperate the American people are to return to some sort of Constitutional tradition.

        • Flagstaff

That is, here is the link.

I agree that it’s ludicrous and shows a disconnect from reality. Nothing I have ever seen suggests to me that there could have been glee of any kind in the the Bush White House after 9/11, nor do I believe in the crackpot theory that Bush wanted to invade Iraq and was glad to have the excuse. This is the kind of thing that “deniers” would espouse.

  • papabear

I don’t know about you, but I would not cheer a Laup Nor win in Iowa (Not that my liking the poll has anything to do with whether or not the Democratic firm PPP is good). It also shows:
    3. Romney (16%)
    4. Bachmann (11%)
    5. Perry 9% :-(

I prefer the Insider advantage poll that just got released:
    1. Newt (27%)
    2. Paul (17%)
    3. Perry (13%)
    4. Romney (12%)
    5. Bachmann (10%)

  • http://tbrickert.wordpress.com tbrickert

cannot wait for the whole primary process to be over. I am, however, skeptical of the abilty of Republicans to unite at the end. I suppose somethings one must just have faith.

  • http://tbrickert.wordpress.com tbrickert

Laup nor, does not make me happy. I don’t like any of the choices. I honestly believe Romney has the best chance of winning but I’n not crazy about him. I don’t like Perry, but I could support him though I don’t think America is ready for another Texas Gov. I am anti-Newt to the point that I most likely could not support him in the general. We will see.

  • Lucas Black

It’s a tough ad, but Newt has to prove that he can take hits like that or there is no point nominating him. To be fair, he’s not whining about it. Ron Paul is hoping to win Iowa, so I really can’t blame him for trying to take down the frontrunner – that’s what you do. I am hoping that Newt holds him off – What I’d most like to see is a Newt victory with a strong second by Paul and then see Bachmann edge Romney for third. That would damage Romney quite a bit, get rid of Perry and Santorum and so Gingrich would have a big leg up against Romney going forward.

  • laffercurve

Stop trying to martyr Ron Paul. You are making a mockery of the Tea Party and Redstate, don’t take us down with your drivel.

What do you actually stand for since you are well known for what you stand against!?

May be if Ron Paul was not the only candidate taking on Newt, he wouldn’t be in a tie for first in Iowa in one poll.

Clearly, your plan to attack Ron Paul on a site that already agrees with you is working. So, keep it up!

  • LibertyWins

    what the heck?

Why did you repost your thread here??

That is a threadjack. I know you don’t like Ron Paul. We all know! Just calm down already. How can you stay so mad so long? Its not healthy.

  • laffercurve

I’m sorry for being hostile. I don’t know if you re a mod or not but, you can rub people the wrong way.

i see the person who started the diary manufactured a whole bunch of fake profiles in order to get diary recommendations to bump up his post. LOL typical dirtbag paulbot trick.

  • fredhayek

you may be just riling up the Ronulans, as if they need to be.

May be you should tone it down a bit. Can’t hurt. I think we all can agree that the Ronulans are wacky.

What’s the point in bashing Ron Paul? Nobody really cares about him here. You just so your just obsessed with destroying the man.

By the way, I’m a Perrybot, lol. If your wondering. He’s the most solid conservative despite his gaffes.

I will recommend this thread only on the basis that it is showing the rest of our candidates how to hit Newt effectively.

  • LibertyWins

and I have been for a long time.

I only like this thread for the fact that Ron Paul is actually hitting Gingrich. Nobody else is. Not even Perry and he has the money to do so. That is endlessly frustrating.

  • http://tbrickert.wordpress.com tbrickert

Read my diary and my comments you we see I am not a Paul supporter. I state precisely who I am for and against. So, inform yourself before running your mouth off.

  • conservativecurmudgeon

Good grief, this explains A LOT…

  • tomatin

Romney and the GOP establishment are bashing Newt mercilessly.

If you are for Perry this is a cautionary tale because if he starts to contend the same Romney, Paul and GOP establishment will be bashing him again. I hope Perry got better defending himself if he gets the lead again.

  • nancysabet

and Perry can spend his money get his messages out. Why make enemies. After all Perry is a friend of Gingrich.

  • LibertyWins

Just be careful about the Ron Paul issue, its not a popular one here.

The Ronulans or Paulbots tend to send hordes of people to websites to promote their guy. Some people may just sit on the sidelines waiting to pump up their guy without the hassle of an Anti-Paul backlash. I guess its understandable.

I wish Ron Paul was 10 years younger and had the foreign policy of Ronald Reagan. That of course is not reality. I think someday someone will take the good ideas Ron Paul has and run on them. It took a Ronald Reagan to make Barry Goldwater’s ideas electable.

  • mikeymike143

you are all the same person. a paulbot writes a pro ron paul diary and within minutes 7 brand new people show up and just happen to recommend it. typical paulbot dishonesty.

, nice of you to join us here.

However, please calm down so we can return this thread to a civil level. There is no need for bombastic commentary.

    Stay Classy Redstate!

  • LibertyWins

Clearly, Paul’s ads are more effective since he is on the uptick, even if it is a Democrat pollster.

Perry really needs to step it up. I love family values but, that is not the top priority thus far in this race. I’m still praying for the guy.

  • LibertyWins

I just don’t like your harping about Ron Paul. We got your point, now follow it up with something else new. Build on a legitimate subject, Re-posting a mildly edited thread from last week with an identical string of gripes with Ron Paul is not a good way to promote your ideas.

I’m freaking Jewish and I have Israeli relatives, do you really think I want to see them killed because we abandoned Israel? Hell No!

Sorry if I pissed you off but, Ron Paul is not the problem, Barack Obama is. Remember he is real Anti-Zionist and would like to see Israel undermined. Geez, who knew you can’t just click recommend without becoming a criminal.

  • laffercurve

The only reason I’m on here is that I recently learned about supply side economics in my high school economics course. I’m currently, undecided, I like Romney, Gingrich, or Perry. Not Ron Paul because he is against fighting the terrorists. Be Careful who you attack please…

    Best Wishes!

  • peacethrustrength

I’m not even a Ron Paul supporter, geez.

I don’t get what the heck happened to piss you off but, its not me.

Sorry I crossed paths with you!

  • savagejim48

I’m the fake one, if you are not a mod, you better back off. You do not own this site. You have accused a lot of people of being trolls, if they recommended a different thread, you would not care. Its because, you just hate to see anything that can possible put Ron Paul in a positive light.

I have until now found Redstate to be a great refuge to find like-minded people. You just seem to be here just to promote your agenda and tear apart anyone who you think gets in your way.

I don’t give a crap about you, Ron Paul, or any other person pushing their BS on others. All I care about is electing a Republican President in 2012, taking back the Senate, and bolstering the GOP House. I sure hope you do too. Our country depends on it!

I am Savage Jim and I’m here to stay!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

want to laugh. until 5 minutes ago, my recommended diary stopped at jdaman. i know that for sure.

but once i posted about the fake diaries that were used to bump the pro ron paul article, within 5 minutes i suddenly have 3 more recommendations. jfiore, libertywins, and johnny redstate. HOW WOULD THEY ALL KNOW TO RECOMMEND MY DIARY IN UNISON TO CONFUSE THE ISSUE? obviously, they are all the same person.

and this is also funny. now liberty wins will have all this fake profiles come on and pretend to be conservatives who dont really support ron paul. and all the fake people will be reasonable sounding. likeable people who will claim to be real. LOL.

i know redstate will not put up with this type of nonsense. they know paulbots have a well deserved reputation for doing this type of stuff and will end up banning all involved.

The tax rates appear to be too high, thats why revenue is not growing all too much. Basically, we need to cut taxes to release economic activity. That will increase revenue in a year one or two. I’m sorry I just learned the basics on this, the curve itself was draw on the blackboard. I’ll try to answer that better in the future. Off to bed goodnite all.

I’ve never seen this on a diary before, all the reccos by only newbees,
and all pretty much new within the last week.

  • LibertyWins

I have been here since 2007 in varying levels of activity and I have never supported Ron Paul in that entire time nor have I held multiple accounts. I have always tried to be civil, friendly, and welcoming to all. Sadly, it looks like I’m finished here since Mikey is out to destroy me. I never even attacked the guy, I just tried to keep the peace. Well, if I am banned, goodbye everyone, nice knowing you. Either way I’ll be away for awhile, I just cannot take the hostility on this site anymore, I’ll come back after we have a nominee and this disgusting infighting is over.

  • gekster

I just noted the peculiarity of the reccos.
And if you look, I was disputing you having all of those accounts.

  • LibertyWins

I did intend to reply to you.

Threadjacking. Everywhere. With long cut-and-paste posts that he just puts in every thread, whether they’re actually relevant or not.

It doesn’t matter if I like what he has to say. I’m sick of seeing it – the same exact thing – on every single page. I keep thinking that surely it’ll be something new this time. Isn’t there any kind of rule against this?
