An Open Letter to President Obama

Mr. Obama,

I didn’t vote for you, and I think you are making terrible decisions for our country.  I am a conservative, obviously.  I try to convince myself that you truly believe what you are doing is right for our country.  I hope that you are making your decisions based on your love of this country and not a quest for power.

I fear that when my son is grown, this country will bear little resemblance to the one I was born into.  I listen to you speak and feel fear.  I heard your comments about your tax policies, in reponse to the Tea Parties.  I’m not sure that you fully understand this issue.  You talk about 95% of Americans getting a tax cut and how your universal health care plan will cover every American.  I hear Congress talking about Cap and Trade, about more money for education, more money for any and everything under the sun.  What I don’t hear is you responding to what the people of the country want.  The Constitution enumerates the powers of the Federal Government.  They are very limited.  It does not give the Federal Government power to tax for anything they want, nor does it provide the authority to mandate public education.  Education is a state’s responsibility.

Ok, back to my reasons for writing this.  I am one of the people who should statistically fall into your voter base.  I have always gotten a check back from the Government at tax time.  I’ve never had to pay Fed taxes.  My husband and I work full-time and buy our own health insuance.  We work hard and play hard.  We support our children and do not take hand-outs.  There are more people like me in this country than you think.  We are intelligent and hard working.  We value life more than money.  We believe in God and in the Constitution.  We vote and take the time to read and keep up on the issues.

The policies you propose will ruin this country. Do you want that on your conscience?

Listen to the voters.  We are in charge.  We pay your salary.

Why did the McCain campaign cancel?

Cancelled Sarah's Interview with Megyn Kelly.

Does anyone have the answer? Why did they cancel? I love Sarah, she would have been awesome with Megyn. So, any idea what happened?

And on to other topics.

I hear talk from McKaskill(sp?) on FoxNews this morning that BO’s comments about the Coal Industry were ‘taken out of context’. How on earth can she say that? We can all hear what he said. Most can read the transcripts. No way was that out of context.

Do the Dems think we are stupid?

I live in Wyoming. We have a huge number of our jobs in the coal industry. I will post the transcript of BO’s comments all over town (Gillette) today. There is no way people will actually vote into office a man who, by his own admission, will attempt to bankrupt the coal industry.

We also, as many of you may know, have a vast network of oil and natural gas pipelines. My family is supported by that industry. That is how we survive. If BO gets elected, our business will fail, as will many in WY and in every state in the US.

Did CNN steal RedState?

Yes I know it’s not really a good Diary, but really. Why CNN ads everywhere?

The State of Education

Social Studies and Science

My son is a seventh grader. There are approximately 800 children in his class. In his Social Studies class, they have a discussion period at the beginning of each class and discuss current events. Yesterday, the teacher mentioned ‘Joe the plumber’. He asked the class if anyone knew who he was. My son was the only student who knew the answer, and went on to explain the story behind Joe. *The teacher was quite surprised that anyone could answer the question.
*

The seventh grade Science teacher at my son’s school made mention of Darwin’s theory of Evolution in class last month. She explained the theory as based in fact and discussed with the students the ‘fact’ that humans evolved from ape-like creatures. *The class took this information with no apparent problem; with the exception of my son and another boy, whose family is Mormon, as is my own.
*

Here is the problem I have with the above situations. This is a relatively small school, in northeastern Wyoming. We are a pretty conservative area of the country. If teachers here are offering Darwinism as fact, and have little expectation that their students have knowledge about current events, how are we ever going to ensure the children of this country are being taught the truth?

How do we convince parents that they need to be involved in their child’s education? The only reason my son is different than his peers is because I make sure to teach him.

CNN also in the tank for Obama

Sarah gets ambushed

I was watching Fox news tonight. Bill O’Reilly in fact. I’m sure you have all heard this story and feel close to the same way I do. I’m just disgusted by the total lack of honesty in the media coverage of this election.

Drew Griffin was interviewing her and asked her about a story published in the National Review, by Byron York. The CNN reporter totally distorted the story and twisted it around so badly that Sarah had no defense. She had no idea what the interviewer was talking about. I was a loyal CNN viewer for many years. I realized some time ago that I could no longer watch them twist stories to suit their political agenda.

I’m asking that everyone who hears this story; email CNN and demand an apology and a retraction for their ‘gotcha’ BS!!!!!

what programs will obama cut?…..

I'm so glad I support Sen. McCain

subsidies to medicare and programs that don’t work. then he goes on to discuss what he is spending money on. Thats it?

Obama can’t even answer a question. It drives me crazy!!!!

Man, Sen. McCain is truly fighting tonight. It’s painfully obvious that Obamamie is just not on the same level as Sen. McCain. There is simply no comparing the two.

IT’S NOT OVER……

I refuse to give in.....I reject the notion that the election is lost!

I spend alot of time on this web site. i love it. Finally, there is a place for me, and fellow conservatives/GOP’s can have intelligent conversations. Unfortunately, I’m seeing an increasing number of posts displaying a defeatist attitude. Where is your faith? We all know that the MSM takes the side of the left. It’s common knowledge that polls favor the left.

People are smart. We must continue to believe in our nation and it’s citizens.

I see people paying attention now. Just 2 weeks ago, in my small town alone, people did not know much about BO or his policies. Now, folks are talking. Even the polls are beginning to shift. This election is far from over!

Nancy Pelosi and the Dam Dems….

What country does she live in?

I’m watching CSPAN and listening to Pelosi and her Dems. Does she not really know that this problem was caused by Democratic Bills that forced banks to give money to people who couldn’t afford to pay it back? The CRA, proposed and signed by Jimmy Carter, is the root cause of this problem. Bill Clinton made it worse. John McCain co-sponsored a bill that would have addressed this problem some years ago.

Pelosi stated this ‘crisis’ “snuck up on us silently, on cat’s feet”. That’s ridiculous and absolutely wrong. I cannot believe that the American people are not going to see the absolute danger of bringing a liberal like Barack Obama, who has very strong ties to the root of this problem, into the White House. He is an integral part of this issue, and to allow him ANY opportunity to sign into law anything at all is truly terrifying. This would only increase the breadth of the Socialism that the Dems are trying to force upon the people of this nation.

Let us all do whatever we can to spread the knowledge we have to ensure that Barack Obama does not get the chance to run our nation into the ground.

Based on the latest news, I believe that Republicans will regain control of the Congress. Let us hope and pray that is so. If Obama is in the White House, having Republicans in control of Congress will not do us much good. Republicans can draft legislation that will help the real people of this nation and Obama will simply veto. We can not let this happen! We must ensure that ‘we the people’ have some say in what our government does.

Reading CrooksandLiars

they are Senators after all.....

In Obamas response last night to John McCain suspending his campaign, he stated that he would ‘do whatever is required to help with the financial crisis. Interesting choice of words. A Freudian slip, perhaps?

He (Obama) also states that a President should be able to do more than one thing at a time. True, A President should. However, neither of the candidates are President. They are Senators, this is their job!

It makes perfect sense to return to DC and actually perform the job they were elected/hired to perform.

I also read on crooksandliars that the people want to hear where the candidates stand on the issue of this bailout/rescue package. This is the point they make about the debate going on as scheduled. OK……. The debate topic is Foreign Policy, not the Economy. How will a debate on Foreign Policy tell us anything about what the candidates think about the Economic situation?

I wonder if Obama realizes just how little leadership he is demonstrating? Does he really think he is making the right choice here? It’s simply ridiculous to imagine that a debate about Foreign Policy is more important than actually working at the job he was elected/hired to do.

If the candidates would simply change the topic of the debate to the economy, it would all be well. That would solve the issue of the debate as well as telling the people what each of them thinks about the current situation.

As far as John McCain not wanting to debate Obama on the issue of Foreign Policy; that is the most incredibly outrageous and, frankly dumb thing I’ve ever heard. The simple fact is, John McCain is an expert on that subject. He asked Obama to debate with him several times in a town-hall meeting style setting. Obama refused. The fact that Obama would not have had a tele-prompter to read his answers from is the key reason for his refusal to engage in these debates. If Obama does not have time to prepare a speech and list his talking points, he CANNOT compare to John McCain.

Obama does not have the ability to simply answer a question, he must be able to prepare a lecture on the philosophical and rhetorical basis of the question asked. I’ve not, since the beginning of this campaign, heard Obama simply answer a question. Has anyone? Does he have any strong convictions?

I hope and pray that the voters in our country do some research on Obama. If voters take the time to look at his record and his ‘friends/associates’, they will quickly see that he is far from the kind of leader we need.
