Why a People’s Grand Jury?

Abraham Lincoln said in the Gettysburg address” …that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom—and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.” Our freedoms are being taken away. We don’t have a federal “government of the people, by the people, for the people”. For decades we have had a government in Washington “of politicians, by the lobbyists, for the special interests.”

We need a way to control our government and its officials. Here is the way:

The concept needs polishing but the concept is right.

If you go to the site about the 4th Branch of government you will see that this is a Grand Jury of the people
which oversees and has power to rein in our elected officials. Notice
how administrations ignore subpenas, laws are passed with gimmicks, and
the Supreme Court is political and unaccountable. It is the answer.

The Grand Jury will provide badly needed independent untainted, transparent, and immediate oversight accountability of our politicians in Washington. The powers given to this People’s Grand Jury are basically designed to enhance transparency in our Federal government by forcing our officials to reveal information on how decisions are arrived at if the Grand Jury so chooses.  It can also require our politicians to actually work on solving an issue by forcing higher standards of approval rather than just cutting deals to get enough votes. It can also order investigations of politicians and supervise the conduct of the investigation. No more letting the” wolf guard the hen house”.
